They have a wide variety of dishes that’s hard to choose. If you are like me that could be looking at the menu for hours, they offer an eight course set menu for only $49.0 pp! In my opinion, it’s a great deal!

You can also enjoy a wide range drinks, such as the traditional Japanese sake, wine or delicious cocktails

The set menu for 2 is a lot of food and a good variety too. Really does feed more than 2.

They do serve alcoholic drinks here but I wouldn't be ordering any cocktails. Staff can be a bit brusque and the vibes can be loud as Umiyaki can attract big groups.

But the food is good. The poke bowls are a good size for lunch. The flavour in the scallop carpaccio is so punchy. The yuzu jelly is such a nice touch.

Quick service and great food for a relatively reasonable price in this economy - serving sizes were good. The sushi tacos weren't super amazing and are probably overhyped but they were a solid feed. Sushi was good as were the donburi bowls

Service is indifference.staffs do not put face masks to prepare food. No food hygiene. Never come again.

You need to try their set menu consisting 8courses valued at only $49pp - now isn’t that something!?

There are many options to choose from in each course which makes it even more amazing. And the part we loved is the convenience of ordering with Ipads located on each table.

We loved visiting here and enjoyed the 8courses prepared freshly in an authentic Japanese style.

Food here is great but I won’t return.

I previously dined here for lunch and the sitting room at the back is unbelievably loud and very uncomfortable. Recently, I called to place a take away order and they answered the phone and said they’re too busy! Another time, they said pickup in 30 minutes but ended up waiting at the store another 20 minutes for the order to be ready.

Whoever owns this place ought to get a new manager or hire more help, because the food is fantastic but the experience is woeful and they’re losing customers because of it.

Set menu was amazing value $49pp for 7 decent dishes! Would recommend to try this cos you can get a little bit of everything:) also the sushi tacos were fun!

Bit of a disappointment. We left hungry and feel we overpaid, food came out in small portions for the price of the dish. I wouldn’t recommend this place, if you want decent Japanese at a decent price and a decent amount of food on your plate go to Kinkura…

Just okay.

Staff were friendly enough but overall not the best customer experience. Food was just okay, nothing special and for the price, I think there is much better value out there.

$18.66 for this portion size is not great, the bowl was mostly full of the garnishes and didn't actually have much curry & rice.

Pretty disappointing, probably won't return anytime soon.

Freshly open Japanese restaurant around the neighbourhood, which is amazing. They do have some really food Japanese curry, sashimi, sushi roll, and the restaurant itself are spotless.
Love that simple but clean interior.
Fried chicken are delicious, sashimi are fresh, Unagi sushi roll taste amazing!

Very disappointed with the small meal portions. $18 for a smallish bowl of donburi. The meals were lukewarm when served. One of the mains was served a long time after the rest of us had eaten.

A hidden gem. Highly recommend the Miso soup, salmon carpaccio, agadashi tofu and kingfish carpaccio. Fresh food and loved the service.

Great dining place. Sukiyaki hot pot is sooooo good and sashimi are all fresh and yum. Definitely will come again. Drinks are also good.

A must check out Japanese restaurant. Everything we had here was amazing. Still can't get over the flaming scallops, the tuna nose maki and the beef toban maki

Really good value set menu, was really full after this. Staff was friendly and there was music played in the background which created a nice ambience. Would come back to try the other items on the menu and reorder the ones we liked!

Food here was excellent, very delicious. Highly reccomend the veggie tempura or aburi salmon ngri. Chicken skewers and pork gyoza were yum. Only set back is it’s not a nice atmosphere, seating is very crammed, minimal walk way and extremely loud atmosphere. Also hard to get staffs attention. Great edition to Moonee Ponds though

Whenever I go to Umiyaki Moonee Ponds, I always end up taking leftovers home because the portions are so generous.

The food was fresh, immaculately presented, full of flavour and at a very good price point. The staff are friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family. A great addition to Moonee Ponds!
