Typhoon Vietnamese Street Food reviews
53Those crispy spring rolls were amazing, wish I got more. Wasn't a thing on the menu I disliked, love it all
The food is tasty, especially the papaya salad.
The portion is big as well. Great value for money.
The service can be a bit better, just be a bit more attentive would be perfect.
Good Vietnamese fusion food. Love their cocktail, very refreshing for hot day. Quick service too.
Really gone down. Braised beef totally inedible, gave it to the dog, dry, hard and chewy, yuck Chicken was ok. Go elsewhere, other places heaps better for the price point
Disappointing quality of food, Hanoi spring rolls didn’t taste like anything.
Vermicelli chicken & pork was very average and also average and chicken salad didn’t seem to be freshly made.
This is a buzzing little restaurant with yummy Vietnamese Street food. All meals were served promptly and presented well. The food tasted delicious. Great atmosphere, especially upstairs, though a little noisy. It is a shame that there was only a one and a half hour time limit, especially for a table of six. We felt very rushed to complete our meals, even being given a ten minute warning twnety minutes before our time was up. The staff are lovely and work flat out, especially coming up and down the stairs to serve constantly. Worth a visit.
By far one of the best restaurants in south east Melbourne. When booking I put a request about seating in the notes and the staff arranged the perfect spot for the occasion. Food was portioned well, priced fairly and packed with flavour. Service was some of the best I have ever experienced with our food coming in less than 15 minutes after ordering. The staff are very kind and polite. Overall there is a great atmosphere and the smell of the kitchen just pulls you in.
Great spot for most occasions and being right next to the station means anyone in Melbourne can get there.
12/08/2023. Food was less than average. Honey chicken was shaved small pieces of chicken if it was any drier would be crisps. The soup was lukewarm and tasteless. (Maybe that’s how it is supposed to be so this may not be an issue). Booked for a certain number of people. Staff sat one of the guests on the corner of the table. Imagine a sharp right angle. Only one dessert option. To top it off staff would not deal with a table that was literally yelling and screaming at a soccer match they were watching. Essentially soccer hooligans going crazy. Staff apologised however did nothing about it.
Amazing food and service! I don't usually like vietnamese fusion as a vietnamese woman, but absolutely adored the food!
Omg this place was so good. We went on a Friday night, the service, food, drinks and the vibe were all fantastic. Especially loved the spring rolls and absolutely loved the lychee Martini's. Was a perfect date night.
Consistent good food and service. However, on my last visit we walked in the door at 8: 20pm on a Saturday night and was told, despite the restaurant being half full it was closing the kitchen soon. As a restaurant, please don't say you're open until 9: 30pm if your kitchen closes at 8: 15.
Great food and great vegetarian options. Staff were friendly and efficient. We had a few cocktails and some dishes to share. Had a great time!
Love this place so much. Quick and easy place to grab decent, mostly authentic Vietnamese without compromising on flavour. Drinks are also delicious.
Very friendly service from the moment we walked in the door. The food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. Then we went next door to The Hawker Bar for a drink. Great night
A really nice inclusion to Highett that combines with the Hawker Bar next door. A great little modern restaurant with decent tasting food.
However their food can be inconsistent. I have ordered here many times and dined in too. Every time the flavour of my favourite dish, the Vermicelli Salad with Chicken has tasted different. Sometimes flavoursome and sometimes bland.
I also do think this place is slightly overpriced for the area and the portion sizes. But I guess that’s what happens when you’re about the nicest looking place on Highett Road.
The food and customer service here is amazing! Came over here from the north-west and I must say this is some, if not the best Vietnamese I’ve ever had. Every dish had there own unique and splendid taste and with the minimal menu they all complemented each other really nicely. The drinks, where I just a ordered simple lemonade, was to die for. We were welcomed by a lovely worker and were served food in under 10 minutes.
So excited to come back in the near future.
This place has wonderful cool, casual ambience with great food, lovely staff and far service. It can be busy with small tables downstairs but they have some larger tables. The little calling bell on the tables was a cool idea!
Our server Tom was very friendly. Food delicious with generous portion sizes. Mango martini lovely. Cheers guys
This is the type of food you go home and write in your journal aboutTreat yourself to the Nguyen chicken and papaya salad next time you’re having a bad day and you’ll instantly feel better.
All 8 dishes where delicious. Staff where friendly and super helpful with dietary requirements.
