TWO SUGARS/CAFE/PIZZA BAR/RESTAURANT / Gusto Highton reviews
51 Gusto? More like Disgusto. The first negative here is the bad vibe as soon as you walk in, then.the overpriced food that in our case was inedible.
After being refused breakfast at 1: 55 because that's off the menu after 2pm, the $26 Calamari was.rubbery and stank with an overbearing fishy smell. Apart from the fact you couldn't even chew it, it came with no chips and soggy salad that also reeked of pungent fish.
The Snitzel burger for $25 was a tiny piece of chicken, perhaps 1/4 of a breast at most. The waitress was so friendly though, the business doesn't deserve her.
Because we literally couldn't eat the Calamari, we approached a waitress and advised we're leaving, why and hadn't eaten anything, it was that bad we left!
Don't waste money here it's dreadful.
Great pizzas, coffee and vibe, but a disappointing gnocchi dish at lunch today, which was oily and overcooked with unappetising chicken.
Not great services your staffs are judmental and order something and I got something else so they don't put attention what the customer wants or just been so silly
Service staff seemed distracted, so slow to order. Lunch was bland and a small portion size.
One of the great Italian restaurants in the Geelong area. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. A favourite. Brilliant lasagna!
Very good service, found a table inside quick enough with a large amount of customers. Coffee was silky and strong.
Nice little coffee shop/Cafe. Meals are delicious, service is friends and costs about the same as elsewhere. Can get a little busy. But all in all a great little local
Lovely staff and food. Everyone was so friendly and were happy to leave us to chat and dodnt make us feel rushed.
Absolutely loved the pizza here and the place is so vibrant and lively. Will plan visiting again for the dinner.
Much recommend if you are looking for dinner venue at Highton and looking for best pizza options.
Had a awesome meal with my daughter today, the service was a highlight, the kind lady that served us and everyone else created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Great coffee and the haloumi wrap amazing
I had my first experience at Gustos, yesterday. Firstly the workers were very attentive and kind, always made sure we had water and took my two cappuccino orders. The meals were made really amazing and all the portions are a great size for the pricing. I tried the spinach and ricotta Catelloni, my mother had the calomari the salads and vegetables were fresh and our all round experience was great. 10/10 from me.
Local café with a good selection of Italian dishes. I had the 'linguine marinara' which was delicious and reasonably priced. Friendly staff added to the ambience.
Gusto Highton are consistent. That is, I have found their food to be consistently delicious and their service is equally great as my family and I have dined there at least four times within the last 3 months whereby their staff have gone beyond expectations to ensure we have a relaxing and enjoyable experience while dining.
I would go for atmosphere and service alone (unusual I know) but luckily for their customers, the food (and portions) are just mouth wateringly good.
I got the seafood risotto. The flavour was simple but hearty and there was plenty of food. I asked for some lemon, which staff happily obliged. The calamari was buttery and soft. I came away thinking that it was really good value for the price.
Food is always excellent and delicious. Staff are warm and accommodating. Overall one of the best cafes in Geelong. Highly recommended!
Booked in for brunch at the weekend with my partner and both the food and service were excellent. The Eggs Benedict was delicious and the coffee was great too.
Have also ordered pasta to takeaway from here during a lockdown and that was delicious also, and tasted fresh and authentic.
Next to try are the pizzas!
Terrible meal! The salt and pepper calamari was limp and inedible. The eye fillet medallions that were on the specials board was a steak sandwich and the meat that was supposed to be medium rare was well done and chewy. The size of the main meals was enormous. The amount of salad served with the calamari would have fed three people. It seems Gusto are going for a quantity over quality approach with the food.
We love your restaurant/cafe. Always great food and coffee and your staff are amazing and super friendly. Thank you. Highly recommended
Love Gusto, never had a bad experience there. Food is delicious and staff are always friendly ️️.
Had a excellent chicken dish with a quality glass of Italian red in peaceful surroundings. Yes I know all those traditionalists out there will say, what a red with chicken no no no must be with white wine. To me that's rubish, I've never had a bad meal with a nice red, so I'll stick to a red. Only 4 groups in early while we were in which was nice. Well worth a visit!
