Two Johns Taphouse reviews
56Food cold on arrival.staff didn't understand English and no idea what I said when I asked a question had to ask someone else. Very disappointed for what was charged to what we received
Not very busy on a Thursday morning and watched three co-workers talk and talk and talk while we were standing at the cashier waiting to order. And then later on, when there was a mistake with our order, I again watched these three co-workers gossip while my wife stood in line waiting to be helped (with two other customers behind her too).
Terminal 2,6/10/23. Got a burger and noticed it was a little pink. But they were v busy and by the time I got it I was in a rush for the plane, so I just ate it and ran. Big mistake - had severe food poisoning half-way through my long haul flight. Vomiting, diarrhoea, the works. Had to get Imodium and anti-emetics from the airline staff to keep it under control. Still haven't eaten and feel really awful. The absolute worst way to spend a plane ride. Have since seen many reviews describing undercooked food and food poisoning episodes - clearly this is a systemic issue that is intentionally not addressed, with complete lack of concern for the well -being of international travellers, rather than a one-off. Seems like it requires Health Dept investigation. At the very least I would like a refund.but I think it needs to go further than that.
Overpriced.appalling service. I took issue with the barman over serving me a beer in a really hot glass. (he refused to give me his name) He told me to leave if I didn't want the beer. A terrible experience, I shall tell everyone I know. Incident occurred 3.10pm (approximately) 02/10/24.
As I write this the barman in question has his ID badge on back to front.
Fantastic food, friendly staff, very affordable and great value (especially for an airport) and a great view of planes coming and going on the tarmac outside.
The 500g chicken wings was fantastic, great flavours and an excellent serving when travelling.
Easy to scan a QRcode at the table, pay and food is delivered to your table. No need to leave your table and importantly leave your carry on, it's all very easy.
Outstanding, many thanks
Want a business who won't take cash? Want a business who has a qr code on table but you still have to order tea and coffee at the counter from clueless staff? Want two tiny eggs on one slice of mediocre toast for $ 19? Yes? Well this is the place for you! Enjoy.
(Terminal (like their food) two)
Nice restaurant and bar at the airport whilst waiting for your flight.
Multiple pub styled meals available on the menu, unfortunately it seems the Caesar salad that I ordered forgot the anchovies and the egg was over boiled, but apart from that there was lots of flavour and the chicken had a great taste to it also.
$38 for the Caesar salad with chicken and beer, but airport prices are always more expensive, that’s to be expected.
Great food. Shame about the staff. Started packing up and vacuuming at 7pm while we were still eating. Hard to enjoy the vibe when all you can smell is vacuum dust!
Scan and order system works well and very convenient, however every single time I come through here I'm disappointed by the club level volume of the music. I bring noise-cancelling headphones on every trip and they're still not enough to dull the sound.
Don’t waste your money at this establishment.
Ordered two meals, both well below standard. One was stone cold, so they then took and microwaved it, the other was so called “poached eggs”that were hard as golf balls. Uninspired cook (obviously not qualified), uninspired floor staff. Was offered a refund and then they revoked that offer! I’ve think feel sick! Could be a long flight in the lavatory…
Melbourne Airport!
We are on our way to sunny Port Douglas, therefore my darling husband said “Let’s eat at the airport “ even though we travel quite frequently we hardly eat here due to me being coeliac. Little John’s it’s on the right way providing a gf pizza, one day they will become Big John’s when they can cater more than one gf option. I did not tried the gf pizza because potato pizza it’s not my first choice, we had a few drinks, but I would suggest to serve these cocktails in glass instead of plastic.
One of Melbourne's better pubs. You certainly won't find a better one this side of the Maribyrnong. Only ever gone for beers, but the atmos is great. Always good tunes on. Crowd is cool without being pretentious.
As airport pubs go it's pretty good with a good range of drinks & different food. For the location they do pretty well. Can't expect too much at a domestic airport
Just when you think it can't get any worse in Melbourne Airport, two John proves you wrong. Half the food on the menu isn't available. They don't accept cash, and the service is hopeless. Even their systems are badly thought through and managed! This is the worst experience since last time I went to Two John's.
We had the caesar salad with chicken, and my husband had the chicken parma - both were good meals, but I asked for my egg to be hard-boiled and on the side, and was told it wasn’t an option. Not sure why to be honest - it’s a pretty simple request
Conveniently located bar in the domestic terminal at Melbourne Airport. With panoramic views over the runways, it’s not a bad spot to relax with a quiet drink prior to your flight. Biggest and most welcome surprise was the prices - for an airport venue, drink prices are on par with regular city venues.
Quick and convenient ordering system in a good location to sit down in the terminal. Ordered scrambled eggs on toast with bacon. Hard to get that wrong. Food and quickly but the eggs tasted like they were cooked in old hamburger grease. Bacon the same. Both almost inedible. Expensive and poor quality food. Avoid if you are looking for breakfast. No coffee available.
The last two times I’ve been out I have received the worst service. The app never works. It’s so overpriced and I just end up leaving and never getting any food. If they had more competition they wouldn’t survive as a business.
The staff start packing up the restaurant 2hrs before closing. Customers made to feel like they need to rush out. Terrible atmosphere
Great spot to sit and relax while waiting for your flight.
Service was pleasant, cost is higher but is expected because of the location and convenience.
