Trinity College

My study experience here was amazing but academic admin didn't seem to care about you after you've left and they actually ignore your emails. It took me almost a week of many repeated emails just to get academic admin to EMAIL my results to another university. A WEEK! Didn't even get an apology for the delay, and all my future emails were ignored.

Trinity College is the oldest residential college of the University of Melbourne in Australia. The college was founded in 1872 on a site granted to the Church of England by the university. In addition to its resident community of 380 University of Melbourne and University of Divinity students, Trinity's programs includes the Trinity College Foundation Studies program which prepares around 1500 international students for admission to the University of Melbourne annually; the Trinity College Theological School, an Anglican theological college, now a college of the University of Divinity; and the Pathways School, which runs the Foundation Studies program, summer and winter schools for young leaders as well as other shorter learning and leadership programs.

Trinity College was founded in 1870 by the first Anglican Bishop of Melbourne, Charles Perry. Students were in residence by 1872. The college was affiliated with the University of Melbourne in 1876. The Trinity College Theological School was founded by Bishop James Moorhouse in 1877.

In 1883 the college became the first university college in Australia to admit women when Lilian Helen Alexander was accepted as a non-resident student. [3] With the establishment of the Trinity Women's Hostel (which later became Janet Clarke Hall) in 1886, Trinity admitted women as resident students, making it the first university college in Australia to do so.

In 1989 the Trinity College Foundation Studies program was established to prepare international students for entry to the University of Melbourne.

Since 2001, Trinity has also offered summer school programs to high school age students from around Australia and internationally. In 2010 the college hosted its first Juilliard Winter Jazz School, which was repeated in 2011.

The Trinity College Associated Clubs (TCAC) provides leadership for the annual Orientation Week program at the beginning of the year and facilitates a multitude of social, cultural and sporting events throughout the year. Trinity's clubs and societies run many different functions and events throughout the year. The current student clubs include the Beer Budlay Society, wine cellar, billiards room, dialectic society (formed in 1877), music society, environmental committee, arts society, film society, drama club, games society and cooking society. The students also run an active program of social service and community outreach, including such programs as tutoring in local schools and educational visits to remote Indigenous communities.

The Choir of Trinity College have become known especially, but not exclusively, for choral music in the tradition of English cathedrals and the collegiate chapels of Oxford and Cambridge universities. The choir sings Evensong in the chapel during term. Choral Evensong at Trinity has become a well-known liturgical event in Melbourne. The choir also performs locally and tours internationally and have made a number of radio broadcasts and CD recordings, including five albums for ABC Classics.

From 1956 to 2016, the college provided liturgical hospitality to a local Anglican congregation, the Canterbury Fellowship. The fellowship's choir sang for choral services on Sunday mornings and Evensong out of term time.

I love Trinity so much, it is my second home in australia. Trinity gives me a lot of help, i really enjoy the experience that i spent here?

Studying at Trinity College Foundation Studies was a pivotal experience in my young adult life. It’s the first time most students are away from home (and with it, familiarity, friends and family). Yet, TCFS made our year abroad very comfortable - providing support and guidance wherever necessary. The international friendships you make are priceless, and the relationships last even past graduation. To this day, I’m a proud alumni and excited about future students embarking their foundation studies here at the college.

It was a life changing experience for me to study at Trinity College! I would also recommend all the alumni to stay in touch with college even after you graduate because there are plenty of events and opportunities dedicated for us.

COMPLETELY disappointed at how they handled their communications and future student enquiries. They have COMPLETELY disregarded my application enquiry for over TWO WEEKS, even after I have send a follow up email.

When i followed up for the THIRD time, after ignoring me for over two weeks (and they have seen the email and intentionally ignored it as i have called and confirmed), they have finally responded only to tell me that the application is over, after I have literally done everything for the application, such as getting personal and paid for a reprint of the academic reference from my highschool, and the application fee. They wanted a personal statement which I didn't know how to write, I wrote that i couldn't find the instructions about that on the website and asked them to provide me a direct link, and they have completely disregarded the enquiry for over two weeks eventually telling me that the application period is over now, and gave me a real disadvantage since the application period for most colleges is also over. I have spoken to them and they do not seem to care. Ignoring virtually all of my complaints and simply forwards my application and says good bye - all without a single word of apology.

If you want to have a fair experience and a college that doesn't disregard your enquiries and treat you like you don't matter, DO NOT GO HERE. It's giving me a feeling where they are only treating their students well on the surface so they can continue to get paid $100/day from each student. And since they are getting way more applications than spaces available, such as in this coming semester (as they told me), they don't give a thing about you. I bet they'd totally change their ridiculous behaviour if half of their spaces are unfilled. Pure ridiculousness.
