Transit Rooftop Bar reviews
46Food was terribly salty. We ordered crumbed whiting and cheese fondue with hash brown. There were too much salt on every dish that we had to shake them off before eating. Drink was okay, atmosphere was great.
1 hour can be the length of a tennis game, not the time it takes to serve 8 glasses. Still waiting for the drinks, hopefully they arrive before tomorrow.
Loved this place with live music and beautiful surroundings. The staff is very courteous and polite.
Can’t rate the quality of the drinks yet, but with 1 hour of waiting, hopefully they will be the best ones I ever had.
Very nice tables though.
Transit Rooftop Bar, Melbourne CBD
Baker Bleu Sourdough with cultured chilli butter
Oysters
Fondue
Whiting
Chicken Wings with caviar
Steak tartare
Located in the heart of Fed Square, @transitrooftopbar is a convenient choice for nibbles and drinks.
The standout dish of the night was the $15 raclette & chardonnay fondue, a rich and decadent treat perfectly paired with hash browns. The chicken wings with caviar also impressed with their crispy exterior and well-balanced seasoning.
While the menu leans toward snacks, there are heartier options like the burger, flatbread, and Rueben. The sourdough and crunchy whiting were highlights, while the oysters could have been cooler. The steak tartare, although ambitious, was outshone by the sauces.
You’ll be able to access the $15 cocktail and fondue specials on Wednesdays and Thursdays all day & their Gut Bucket Blues & Boogie nights on Thursday evenings. So great!
The atmosphere is vibrant, and the city views are stunning. A return visit is definitely on the cards, for that irresistible fondue and their cocktail specials.
INVITE 3.5/5
Best view in town, always a great option to impress out of town guests and a reminder of all there is to love about Melbourne. Beautiful place.
Sharing this early in the week so you can plan your Thursday nights @transitrooftopbar Melbourne and enjoy their Gut Bucket Blues Thursday nights!
With cocktails at just $15, soak into the live music with night of barrelhouse piano classics.
Enjoy the bar food and of course not to mention the amazing Melbourne city views from here.
We absolutely loved visiting here last Thursday and definitely recommend for you to make your Thursday night special with your BAE or group of friends.
Security they think that they are the owner of the bar.talking with them very politely but they are very rude even if you are not drunk they think you are drunk and talk the same as others. Not even understand your request and start touching and pushing that is against the law. Never gonna come back again in my life and ask my all known not to go there make sure.
Rubbish service, told to order on the QR Code, wasn't overly busy, 30 mins later still no beers or food, chased both and told they were coming, oysters were warm and ended up getting our beers from the bar, staff were wandering around with uncompleted orders asking all patrons if this was there order or not.
Large collection of drinks, located at fed Square, indoor and outdoor space, live jazz and cello is played on particular days
Terrible! You can't be served at the bar as they were "busy" making drinks but you can't order specific items on the menu! Such a pity as it's an awesome location!
We celebrated the new year there, it was a great choice, good view, with a cocktail all night, prices according. Good music!
I have been a returning customer for years now, and every time I bring guests with me they leave completely satisfied. The views are gorgeous, the drinks menu is extensive and delicious and most importantly, the staff are friendly and attentive!
I look forward to my next return
We are on holiday from the uk, visiting family. Ordered our food which was nicely prepared & came quickly. Sharing a lovely pizza & loaded fries with a beer each. Three different staff members asked if we had finished our food while we were still eating. As the last mouthful went in, the pizza board was taken. One of the staff took my empty glass & asked my husband if he had finished with his quarter full glass of beer. These action made us feel rushed & annoyed.
I do like Transit Rooftop bar. Been coming here in and off for years. It has great views of the Melbourne skyline. Live music is provided on Saturday nights, with free entry, a good place for a dance. My only complaint is the price of cocktails- $24, that's a lot of money,
Pretty average rooftop bar. No life or atmosphere and service is non-existent. Drinks are also very expensive.
Nice view over Fed Square and the Arts Centre, but not much else going for it.
Great place, nice atmosphere. Friendly staff but very long wait to get your order delivered.
We spent NYE 2022 here and it was a great experience. Food was good, cocktails were really nice! Good music and great views of the fireworks.
Pretty yummy HOWEVER why was the small bowl of corn chips padded with scrunched paper to make it look like there were more chips when there weren’t? !
I had to re adjust my guac to chip ratio when I realised I had only one more chip to go: ’ (
Great drinks though.
Also they cleared my sandwich before I was done:/
Generally ok except the menu pricing and in particular a 12.5% venue surcharge that only appears when checking out on the phone ordering system. Understandable on public holidays etc, but at 6pm on a regular Wednesday night it's simply deceptive and unethical, just be upfront and honest about your pricing. When staff where asked about the 'venue surcharge', the first simply didn't get back to us, and the the bar manager explained it was for the 'service'. We didn't even get a couple of napkins with the overpriced surcharged fries.
