Total Tools Moorabbin reviews
46 Apparently they're understaffed, which would explain the lack of service and that the poor chap at the counter seemed to be completely overwhelmed.
Ive spent $3k there in the past few months and after my most recent experience I really wish I'd gone to Sydney Tools instead. I popped into Sydney Tools before I came here and the service was great.
These guys didn't have anything on display, the stock was hard to find, the staff were nowhere to be seen. When I finally tracked someone down, my price match was declined, not because I didn't satisfy the criteria, but because the price I found was too low for the managers liking.
Service at Mt Waverley and Braeside stores is much better. As an Insider Gold member I'll be shopping elsewhere from now on.
Great service, a team who know their products and can make impartial recommendations. John went the extra mile to seal the deal - Highly recommend!
Best prices in town and amazing customer service! Thanks to the guys to look after me with all the purchases…
Dont order products off the website before you've called the store to make sure that they have it in stock. Otherwise.your order will be cancelled, and your monies will take 5-7 days to get back to you. Just because you see it online for sale, doesn't mean they have it. Sydney tools is the better option.
Had a great experience with a recently new employee helped me out a generous amount definitely will continue to purchase total tools products
This total tools was one of the in Melbourne a few years ago. But has gone downhill very quickly. I dropped a tool off for a warranty repair at the start of November and didn’t hear anything for weeks. I tried calling with no reply. In the end I went into the store on the 21st of December and made them call the repair shop. They told me it was just getting put back together and would be ready the next day and would ring when it’s in. I didn’t hear back so I went back in on the 6th of January to see what was going on. I was told it was ready but was still at the repair shop in Dandenong and that they were too busy to pick it up, that I could go to Dandenong myself if I wanted it sooner. When I got to Dandenong the drill was ready and had been ready since the 15th of December. 6days before I went into get them to call!
Very poor service. I will not be going back and be advising others to stay away!
Placed an online order for in-stock items for delivery; 9 days later still no update on the order. Went to the store to pick up, found the stock and the only staff member that was authorised to operate the Wave picker was on a break. Not much apologies were offered.
Go to or place an order with Sydney Tools instead.
I looked for a picket driver, couldn't find at any store around (checked 5 places), I found the last one in Total Tools!
The service was awesome and I even got a discount! I think I found my new home to purchase tools:)
I find all the staff friendly and knowledgeable about the products that they sell and I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants to buy tools for any job.
Dave the viking is always super helpful and friendly. Great product knowledge and even helped carry out my things to the car. Thanks again!
I came in here yesterday and the bloke had no idea where anything was or what he had in stock, all he did was waste my time. I waited about 15 minutes for him to work out how to use his computer, will stick to Sydney tools where they actually care about the customer and know what’s going on lol
2022 - This store has gone down hill the past few years, Staff don't want to be bothered, Everything is an effort here and no one wants to be there or help a customer.
Ive asked for assistance on bottle jacks previously, Staff member didnt want to check the price for me as they didint want to walk to the counter with it. I had to insist on it. Lazy.
Multiple problems in my past orders as well over the past few years, tool repairs (ongoing 2 months ATM and multiple calls, Approved quote and ring 1 month later to be told the quote again and hasn't been approved although already had this conversation 3 -4 weeks prior to approve, 1 hr fix and waiting over 2 months still. This happened to my last repair as well which took over 6 months to get back even after chasing them multiple times for my tool un repaired)
You will see the lack of service if you go in there!
I go to Total tools Mornington now or Sydney Tools Moorabbin, Better service and more helpful.

Original review 2019 Below.
5 Stars - 2019 - Good store. I purchase all my tools here. Highly recommend Simon, very knowledgeable.
By far the worst service and organisation I have dealt with as a tradesman. Poor customer service! Staff never get back to you. Ever!
Terrible online service all the tools I ordered where in stock according to their Web page. After a very long wait I received an email stating that some of my tools would arrive but the rest were on back order. I was given the option of receiving a refund for the tools on back order. After several emails and almost 2 months I have not received my tools or a refund. I will never shop with total tools again
I work at a store next to this store and I can honestly say how great the store manager is in taking pride of her store. Well done
Don't expect a Bunnings style return policy at total tools. I bought a nail gun from Moorabbin total tools. It was faulty. It couldn't shoot the pins in halfway into softwood. No problem, it's 2 days after the purchase I'll take it back for a replacement, I'm sure they'll apologize and we'll carry on with our lives. Nope, despite them selling me a faulty item I have to wait 3 weeks with no gun while it's fixed. Why is this ok? I can't use a company who shifts the loss to their customers.
Terrible service, went in to buy something, was sent down an isle, every time I looked up three turkeys where chatting at the counter NOT INTERESTED in helping or serving anyone, so I walked out, went to sydney tools up 4 doors and got service from them
Total Tools is in a great location in Moorabbin. Good range of products, mostly aimed at tradesman with professional kit from many suppliers available. Bright store with good wide aisles so you can see what your after easily. Everytime I've visited staff are readily available to help find things or offer information to help me decide. Great location because in the immediate vicinity is also a Bunnings, a Sydney Tools store and an RSEA Safety (Safety equipment store) so price comparison or equipment deals can be done efficiently.
Has all the stuff you need and heaps of stuff you want but can't afford but that's more a problem for me than them
Not good I now know why I go to the Braeside store. Been in this store twice and the special offer has not been applied at the checkout. I know it’s not much money but it’s the principal. Cost more to go back and complain.
