I have a pair of Yamaha NS1000 speakers. Fantastic service with good, friendly, quick and professional advice. Had some changes and upgrades made to my speakers which improved the sound incredibly. Although more than 45 years old they sound better than new. I would highly recommend Total Recoil on the Gold Coast to anyone.

Highly recommend, Colin repaired a couple of 8" car woofers. I had a 2nd issue with them which was probably caused by me, he fixed them again & made them even better at no extra charge.

Colin is a legend. Never repaired a Morel home theatre sub before but has the resources to fix and repair and just find a solution to sort out your problem.

Colin is fantastic! I dropped off some vintage equipment for repair, he took the time to explain the whole process, and I must say the results far exceeded my expectations. All my family and friends will be sent here. Amazing

Helped me out with my speakers and fixed it straight away. Very good service here and very experienced in what they do.

Organised a quote with Colin for a pretty standard repair on ~30 year old speakers - was quoted nearly $500 and on collecting the speakers to be serviced elsewhere they were in worse shape than when I had dropped them off. Not worth it!

Brought in some Focal Solo8 Be monitors with busted tweeters. They were fixed at a very reasonable price. Very impressed with this place. I've not been there since because there's been no more monitor problems, but it'll be my first stop if there is!

Reading some of the reviews here, you'd think that all of Melbourne's speaker repair places are run by curmudgeons who are good at their job but terrible at service and take forever to fix things. Maybe I just picked a good day, but Total Recoil were great. Excellent job in getting my speakers repaired, pleasant to deal with and very accommodating. I can definitely recommend them.

Boyd has done a truly magnificent upgrade to my speakers, a work of art. The sound that comes out of these beauties is just magic. I don’t think there’s anyone in Melbourne who can do what he does. I will recommend him to anyone wholeheartedly.

Terrible service. I provided an amp to fix an earthing issue, you know the earth connected to the phono jack. It was supposed to take a few days but didn't. They didn't return my calls and when I got through them to pick it up, it wasn't ready (this was 3 weeks later). When they did call a few days later to say it was ready and it would cost $50, I turned and insisted they show me that it had been fixed i.e. By plugging it in to a turntable, only to discover it had not been fixed. They then said ok I could have the amp back free of charge but that they would not fix it for less than $150. I declined.

This guy is pretty rude and condescending but gets the job done quick. So if you don't mind being belittled in exchange for a quick repair/service then he's your man.

Just called about headphone repairs and was responded to in an incredibly rude and dismissive way. When I did not know what 3- or 4-pin meant, I was asked if I knew how to count. Obviously I have no idea about headphones or I wouldn't be calling. As tempted as I am to go and use this service anyway - based on other reviews - I don't think I want to give this fellow my business. Good luck to others.
