Fabulous little wine bar found via the obvious sign from The Esplanade "wine bar 150m this way" - well done! The owner was engaging during service, and the wine selection was vast. New fit out of the venue is chic and warm. Food menu perfect for snacks along with a long lunch. I'll be back for that long lunch.

I have been here twice and both times the bald guy has argued with me and been obnoxious. When asking a question about wine, he wouldn't listen to what I was saying and instead tried to boast his experience and knowledge.
I asked him about for a Negroni cocktail and he only serves them from a can. Pretty average for an easy cocktail with only 3 ingredients of equal parts.
Last time I was there, I was sitting at a table outside and there was group of girls sitting on the table next to me. He went up to them and said 'How are we ladies? ' in a very creepy tone, and after he left them, I heard them all say that they were uncomfortable with the comment.
His selection is good but not much better than other local retailers. With 2 new major bottle shops opening up in the area, he is really going to need to rely on his customer service, and there is a lot of work to do on that.

Went here with a group of girlfriends. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. Huge selection of wines.

The Torquay Wine Store has been my husband and my go-to location for the past few evenings on our honeymoon. Mick is wonderful, personable, and the wines/nibbles are amazing. Couldn’t ask for much more!

I have been waiting so long for a place like this in our little town - a wine bar that still supports local wineries and breweries but also has an amazing selection of beverages outside of our local area because sometimes you just want a glass of french rose or central otago pinot. A wine bar that feels a bit like "Cheers" where everybody knows your name. Where the staff will talk to you about what you like, what you want and find a match for you because they are that knowledgable and friendly.
The selection of top notch beers and wines across all price points is vast without being overwhelming. WInes by the glass are rotational but you can also purchase a bottle in store and drink it at the bar. A must for anybody visiting Torquay.

Nice fit out (though most seats are high bar seats that I find very uncomfortable to sit in), nice small selection by the glass (though I do prefer a wine bar that offers a champagne on the pour). Nibbles selection small but tasty. By the bottle choices appeared to have a broad range and price point, will definitely revisit to purchase takeaways.
Service didn't quite live up to the previous reviews- the bartender spent most of his time on his phone, not much effort to engage in conversation and didn't know how to answer any of the questions I asked about the food, wine or venue. I want to like it so I'll give it another go in a few weeks and hopefully the interest in customers and knowledge has improved by then.

Wowee! What an awesome addition to my favourite beach destination! I never thought I’d find another reason to love Torquay - but the geezer at this place was brilliant. He genuinely knew his stuff and was so friendly & bloody funny. Well done pal (can’t remember his name sorry. All signs of a job well done)

Great new spot in the heart of Torquay. Great wine/beer/spirit list. Didn't try the food but looked great. Definitely recommend.

This is the wine and craft beer bar destination you wish for in your dreams. And a MUST visit during any relaxing down time or as a meeting place when in Torquay. A thoughtfully organised list of fantastic wines by the glass from a wide range of origins and styles, a ripping selection of great beers including a couple of crafties on tap, and a bar menu of eats that are perfect accompaniments. Not to mention an enormous range to either take home or drink there. Owned and run by a wealth of premium industry experience, the hosts and their staff are very friendly and helpful. Fantastic!

Fantastic place for a quiet drink. Hosts are wonderful and are great at explaining different wine varieties. Took a few recommendations home to try. Will definitely be back!
