Tori’s reviews
51 Horrible service & not welcoming.
Cake was really average and items are extremely overpriced.
Atmosphere was different & nice and is the only thing that I could rate
Snacks from @torismelb a little while ago: so many delicious options in a cool and hip setting. It was super busy but the takeaway queue moved quickly.
.
I got the following:
Ube cheesecake
Black sesame canale
Thai milk tea canale
Earl grey and lavender pound cake
Matcha and pistachio Madeleine
Yuzu Madeleine
All cakes look beautiful. I got the popular ube (taro) cake and Matcha cheese cake. The ube cheesecake was lack of taste of ube, but the bottom biscuit crumb was delicious. Matcha cheese cake was also so so, could taste a balance between green tea and cheese, but not in strong flavory also.
One of the signature drink Matcha Strawberry latte was disappointing. The taste of Matcha was not strong enough and became tasteless after mixing with the strawberries purée.
The place is a bit crowded and noisy. Self help service so the tables are not regularly cleaned.
Great place for coffee chat and chill out. Can get very busy. Staff are very accommodating and try to help out with seating when they can, especially if they see any queue jumpers for the seats.
Perfect for indulging one's sweet tooth. Their Asian-inspired desserts are the highlight - the ube cake and banoffee are must-haves. Excellent service and a great ambiance make Tori's, an ideal date, tea, or solo sweet craving spot. Head on over to Tori's Dessert Cafe to dig into towering goodness mixed with vibrant flavors!
Pastries and drinks were all soooo good! Went there 3 days in a row personal fav genmaicha > matcha > houjicha (everything was undoubtedly good!)
Coffee and cake at Tori's on a public holiday was buzzing with lines out the door. Everything was in stock at 11am, all the shortcake slices, canales, cubes of pound cake, madeleines and cream cheese garlic bread.

Everything was excellent, the crazy light and fluffy cream cake, the heavy indulgent banoffee pie. Love the yuzu glazed madeleine, the crunchy but interesting texture of the canele as always. We got excited and ordered two garlic brioches filled with a slightly sweet cream cheese and garlic butter, which was a hit!
.
A cute homey Korean cafe, very trendy but delicious. They have Japanese bathrooms.
.
Bring your elbows - while there's a waiting area for after you order but before you get a table, you need to be very assertive, because people who came after you will hover around tables about to leave to grab the seat.

Uphill somewhere in the city
Damage $80 with 15% public holiday charge. No regrets, it's hard to get everyone same time same place
At my first visit, the taste of the basque cheese cake was superb, so went to several time to have other flavors. Other than the cheese cake, I wouldn’t say the other dishes were good (even coffee). I know this place is famous for matcha flavor menus, but I’m not a fan of it, so can’t say anything about those desserts and match latte.
Pricey.
Madeleines were average. Choc slightly better than matcha one as matcha had unpleasantly thick chocolate coating on top.
Flavored canneles were very nice. Tried all three but the best was earl grey one.
Cakes were fresh but average. Banofee was good carrot was dry and lack of flavor.
Overall neat tasting asian style sweets. There are better ones for so much better price.
Everything is so pretty in there. The slices of cake are super worth it and so are the madeleines. <3
The matcha is really nice and the cakes are also worth the hype. What's preventing me to go there again are the seating - seats are very limited and very uncomfortable. Not recommended for a group visit.
Overall good experience, the cakes are on the expensive side. We spent a total of $66 on 3 cakes, 2 madeleines and 2 coffees. The cakes and madeleines were great. We got the Yuzu madeleines, they were slightly on the drier side, however still very enjoyable. The cakes were creative and done well. The coffees however were a disappointment and I would not recommend. A cute little cafe and good environment if you can get a seat in the limited seating!
If only it wasn’t so great and popular!
Cakes are delicious, vibe is very eclectic.
I wish I could have been able to sit down and enjoy my cakes but they’re so popular I had to take away. Next time hopefully I can sit down.
Tried their iced chocolate and iced matcha and it’s very good quality! I’ll be coming back to try their cakes
The best cheesecake in town. I loved it every second! Had the sweetcorn cheesecake for the recommendation. Pair perfectly with miso latte. Take away also the matcha cheesecake too.
Ordered matcha burnt cheesecake, canele & banana toffee pie for takeaway. Staff gave me black sesame burnt cheesecake instead? Canele was so good!
Family party mode, very lively and warm, with many varieties of desserts and moderate sweetness.
Found the cakes to be a bit overrated. We tried the seasonal melon cake, lychee rose, chocolate, black sesame, and Yuzu poppyseed. Favourite was the lychee cake. The flavour was not very strong in any of them which meant they tasted quite similar. The poppyseed cake was also quite dense and dry. We got takeaway but for dine in the decor is very odd and doesn't really match the product.
Cute cosy spot, with quality drinks (think coffees, matcha and houjicha lattes and other specialty drinks). Cakes are really lovely, not too sweet and made in house in their little pastry kitchen I believe.
Be ready to wait for a spot to sit as it’s super busy inside, so as much as it would be a great quiet cafe to hang out, it’s much more on the noisy side sadly. Takeaway would suffice just to try out their lovely drinks and desserts!
Tori’s is my current fave cake and hojicha latte spot right now! Located in Niagara Lane, this tucked away cafe has captured the hearts of many Melbournians.
Their cakes are pretty pricey but they’re delicious so IMO they are totally worth it!
Tried the:
• Seasonal Cake - Lychee Shortcake
• Matcha Basque Cheesecake
• Black Sesame Basque Cheesecake
• Hojicha Latte
• Genmaicha Latte
