Toorak College reviews
23Really cool school, but sadly my best friend is leaving there for high school and since it’s only girls I’m not able to go there with her! But beside that really pretty school.
We love Toorak College! The staff are incredible and have made our experience so positive. The nurturing environment fosters a love for learning, and I couldn't be happier with their commitment to my daughters education.
How do i give zero stars? This school makes me want to jump off a bridge. The teachers should worry about our learning and not weather we have our shirts tucked into our skirts. Teachers need to stop getting involved with our personal life at home. Like why do you have to know that i got my period last week.
Toorak College is a truly amazing school. Our daughters have loved their early childhood education at Toorak. Honestly can't fault them in any way.
Our daughter started this year in Yr 5 at Wardle House and as parents, we couldn’t be happier. During these past 6 months we have witnessed our daughter’s confidence and positive mindset grow, especially in the area of Mathematics and public speaking.
The classroom environment is supportive, encouraging and engaging and the facilities at the school are second to none. The teachers are dedicated and nurturing, always encouraging the students to achieve their potential.
Our daughter has embraced the many, many opportunities that Toorak College has to offer and genuinely loves going to school each day.
If this is how we feel after only 6 months, we are excited to see what the next 6 years bring!
We have had our children at Toorak for the last two years. I have one daughter in the ELC and one in year one. We have been extremely happy with our children’s learning experience and their overall enjoyment of the school, it’s teachers and the facilities. We have one daughter who is quite shy and nervous and she has absolutely blossomed. The teachers are very nurturing and encouraging. I highly recommend Toorak College
Our daughter is in ELC and is absolutely thriving in the caring, well structured and well resourced environment. The educators being the highlight. Very strong recommendation from us vs our experience with community kinders
My girls have been at Toorak for 12 years, starting from 3 year old ELC. I could not speak highly enough of the staff at Toorak in particular their commitment to helping my girls to realise their full potential. A truly inclusive and supportive environment.
Our experiences at Toorak College over the past 9 years have been exceptional. The pastoral care shown to both of our daughters, throughout their years in the Junior School and Senior School, has been outstanding. They have been supported to reach their potential both academically and personally by wonderful staff who genuinely cared for their wellbeing as well as their academic and sporting development. They were encouraged to embrace every opportunity offered to them. We know they have been well prepared for the bright futures that lay ahead of them and will have lifelong friends to share their memories of their school days at Toorak with.
This school is amazing offering unique and flexible learning opportunities for my daughter. We are very appreciative!
Absolutely amazing educational environment! I attended in the 90’S and my daughter now 2022! Kristy is the most amazing principle:/. Role model teacher and leader! Everything Toorak offers is life changing for our girls! I feel in such an uncertain world that my daughter is going into this world with such amazing education and caring guidance x ️️️
Outstanding. From the Head of the School to all the teachers I have been in contact with throughout the Junior School.simply the best. They have a plan for everything especially during the Pandemic. It was if my son was in a class room. Since they have been back to school this year, on campus, the school has stepped it up another notch.
If you are considering you options, including Toorak, to me there is only one choice. Toorak Collage
Went here from years 1 through 5 and left in 2014.must say, the negative memories outweigh the positives 10 fold. I often remember being bullied with little being done about it, teachers raising their voice and giving off a demeanor that would kill my want to learn from my errors and advance further in the curriculum, some god awful pretentious classmates that will try look for anything to humiliate you for and the uniform code by god, a teacher notices a minor fault in your school uniform and its instantly > "sleeves too high" "tuck your shirt in" "wheres your tie" "your shoes don't fit uniform code" this to me was a major bummer and it really bugged me the times it happened, yes it can be avoided but we are kids, these are kids they deal with and they treat them like its some kind of office environment and they have someone to impress. This of course does not mean everything was bad. There were some amazing teachers that understood and worked with everyone's different needs and ways of learning. I have nothing but good memories about the sporting in toorak.the swimming was good fun, I fondly remember playing badminton a couple times? Makes me laugh thinking about it now. I also remember lots of ball sports. In terms of the more curricular side of things such as English, Mathematics, etc, my memory has faded a bit but I believe it had it had its good and bad days, but as I said prior it was incredibly hard for myself to advance in mathematics related subjects because of how little support I was given by my teachers.
I left a long time ago but I really hope things have changed here but from reading some of these reviews, I am getting the idea it has not.
FOR PARENTS who are considering this school.be smart, know what your children want.if your child is sensitive, shy, quiet, emotional or has special needs, I would most definitely recommend elsewhere, this school really is a tough one but if you are willing to push your child then I wish all the best, good luck, truly.
The teachers and staff at Toorak College are amazing. They are supportive, encouraging and help the students be their best. We are so happy with our choice to school our two children at Toorak.
An outstanding school - beautiful community, experienced and dedicated staff, strong and innovative leadership.
I have two daughters at Toorak College, one in the junior school, Wardle House the other in the senior school. When the covid crisis hit Australia and more specifically the education sector Toorak College, lead astonishingly well by its board and Principal Mrs Kristy Kendall, moved the entire school programme onto their own online platform. Despite the obvious challenges faced by parents in general trying to fill in for teachers during the Covid lockdowns, Toorak College and its staff went over and beyond in maintaining the educational standards of the school and kept its students engaged, challenged and cared for under extraordinary circumstances. Being a Dad of a seven year old and fifteen year old and with both girls being at vulnerable stages in their education I cannot begin to express how grateful I am to Toorak College for the support they gave to both my girls during remote learning, the communication delivered to us as parents by the school and the commitment of the staff in general to all the students, staff who themselves were dealing with their own lives and families during such a devastating period. The Covid crisis has had an impact on all of us, but I will forever be grateful to Toorak College for successfully guiding my girls and family through one of the hardest times in all our lives.
Toorak College is the best performing school on the Mornington Peninsula with great students and outstanding teachers. The school is rich in many achievements and has a strong reputation and history. Toorak is ranked among the top 15% of schools in the country. 10/10
Toorak College is one of the top 50 schools in Melbourne for VCE and academic performance. The school was even ranked 30th in the state for VCE performance since 2014. The school is renowned for excellence in teaching and the students are very high achievers. Toorak College also has modern facilities with the new Science and Technology Centre coming in 2018. Toorak college is amazing. I haven't been here for that long but I know a lot of the students and the teachers are so caring and cater for all your needs.
Fantastic school! The culture of the school is one of unjudged enthusiasm, respect and challenge.
