Toorak Cellars reviews
32 Great wine bar with an excellent range of wines that are outside of the commercial range found in your big box liquor stores.
Staff are always happy to provide recommendations to stretch your palate or explore a new region (local or international)
A great selection of quality wines for take home or enjoy in the convivial surroundings. The selection of cheese (etc) platters is good and (apparently) you can 'order in' food if the next door outlet isn't open, which it wasn't for us.
The open fireplace was nice on a chilly evening for our foursome.
Lovely little gem in Toorak and a perfect spot to perch yourself on a weekend next to the fire.
Great courtyard area out the back (that’s also pet friendly).
My favourite wine bar in Melbourne.
There are footpath tables or a sunny courtyard but I prefer inside by the fire, on long tables or in the window settees.
Interesting wine list that changes regularly.
The staff are engaging and informative and they have a great music playlist.
Oh my goodness.what a worst place. Worst coffee place you can ever find in Toorak. Rude and lazy staff, dirty place and bad bad coffee. Coffee station is so dirty, the $1 coffee machine cleans itself after making coffee. Not a great place to go if want your coffee good.
Great atmosphere and great staff.
Also can get pizza delivery from Neighbourhood pizza next door.
Love this little hidden gem. Great for a relaxing casual glass and nibble. Fabulous for their wine master classes. I see my first review was 4 years ago and my pate and champers brunch today was just as wonderful as then! And again. I keep coming back whenever in the area. It's the perfect place also for a solo indulgence.
An incredibly relaxing ambience with friendly service. A sun drenched western aspect on quiet Beatty Ave makes for a great afternoon. Hopefully the street dining stays put!
Just stellar service. Especially putting up with us drunks lads near closing time. The place is a hidden gem.
Such an amazingly cosy and warm atmosphere. Perfect for a Sunday brunch with some wine. We had a really nice time sitting outside.
What has happened to Toorak Cellars - staff are rude, entitled and wear bad shoes - I am a local and the service they provide is dismal - they think they own the joint. I will be speaking to the owner. The whole concept of this place has been lost. Pls bring back Matt and Eliza.
Wow - thanks for clarification however now it is quite clear where the rude and entitled comes from - stems from the top - all the best
Always enjoy my visit to Toorak Wine Cellars! Such a cozy environment and local wine bar that it really enjoyable with my friends. Great customer service! <3
Lovely quirky wine bar shop with some great unique wines. Have a problem however with staff that just know nothing about the wines for sale.
Great atmosphere but they’ve dropped the ball. When you have a wine bar handing over plastic picnic tumblers when you buy a $150 bottle.no cool.
I’ll continue to visit because it’s local, but let’s go back to the days of educated staff who could give a recommendation and keep on top of washing glasses!
I live just on Teringa Place, Toorak, and this is one of my favourite place. Amazing Food and friendly atmosphere.
Unfriendly staff. Last two visits, felt unwelcome, and like they were doing me a favour by selling me wine. Shame, I want to like this place.
Each bottle of wine we ordered was forgotten about had to keep reminding them we had ordered and paid and we're waiting for our items. Last bottle was 30 mins late and when arrived we were told to leave after 10 mins of opening it. We were fine to leave due to last call but needed to wait for a friend to just finish up in the loo, which we got a snippy comment about from the staff member. Bit dissapointed they were late with the wine, left us no reasonable amount of time to drink it and I feel they should have at least given us the option of a refund before letting us open it and pretty much immediately saying we needed to leave. Other staff members were lovely and wine and environment was nice.
UPDATE: Thank you for a speedy response to my review. It’s much appreciated. All the best with your future ventures.
First impressions last and unfortunately my first impression left much to be desired. We had booked a table for a group of 8.1. As we were seated we were advised that they needed the table back in 2 hours as they had to seat someone else. What an interesting welcome!
2. They don’t have table numbers so running a tab with 7-8 people was difficult
3. NO table service. You have to queue up at the bar like you would at your local pub
4. Every time we ordered a bottle of something it took them forever to bring it to the table. To the point where we waited over 20 mins for the second bottle of champagne arrived, paid the bill, and left.
5. Their own QR code takes us to the menu of a pizza place nearby. When we waited 40mins, we asked one of the waiters about it. He said “I don’t work for the pizza place”. Ok. When we asked him about the second bottle of champagne he said “you will have to go to the bar”.
Just, not a nice wine bar experience at all.
Toorak Cellars is a hidden gem. Great experience every time we’re here. The cellars is very conducive to work, or a romantic date night; which is a bonus too. Love the coffees ️
