Really good tonkatsu. Love the rib eye. The marbling is crazy!

The fried oyster is so nice, just wish they had mayonnaise as dip.

The ox tongue is very well cooked, melt in the mouth texture, but the sauce is way too sweet. I always scrape the sauce all off before eating the ox tongue.

Overall a perfect place for tonkatsu craving after work.

Great food and service as always. We have been to this restaurant so many times and the food and service have been amazing. Our usual order are rib eyes and tofu on rice. However, on our last visit, the tofu was a cold & icy and we let the staff know about it. They acknowledge that the food was not up to par and offer something in return.

Everyone could have a bad day but the most important thing is that how you address it. Could not have done it better:)

Thank you

Great service, nice ambience. The pork rib eye was really tender but very salty. If you like a bit chewier meat, tenderloin is your go to. Overall it was good but not value for money.

Visited today for the first time for my husband’s birthday and we loved the whole dining experience. Staffs are friendly and welcoming.
Food is wonderful!
We got a surprise supplementary match ice cream cake for dessert, which was so delicious!

A restaurant I went to again after eating it again and again
I'm so happy to have a place in Melbourne that I can call a gourmet restaurant. Especially the ribeye pork is really delicious. Shrimp tempura is also excellent. It seems expensive, but the quality is so good that it's not a waste of money. Don't wait, make a reservation on Google!

Had the pork ribeye with tonkatsu, oysters, and potatoe salad. Best tonkatsu in Melbourne for sure. The restaurant is small, so book ahead. All the staff are super friendly, and food came out pretty quick.

Hands down the best tonkatsu in Melbourne

The pork cutlets are so tender and juicy while the batter is so crispy and not too thick but just right. In my opinion, tonkatsu sauce goes the best with it rather than other sauces. Maybe curry next. Dark miso - I’m not sure.

Ox tongue skewers - tender and melts in your mouth but had that metallic smell to it which I don’t like.

Just go and try their tonkatsu!

We ordered both rib eye and striploin as recommended. Both are very tasty. Came with family with kids and everyone enjoyed the food.

Wait staff are very attentive and friendly. Small restaurant with limited seating. Luckily we made a booking since we are quite a big group.

Highly recommend! Will be back if we crave for tonkatsu!

Stumbled across this gem while searching for a restaurant to eat at with some girl friends. It was our first time dining here and we were so impressed by both the food and the service!
The staff kindly explained the menu to us and gave us their recommendations and suggestions on which sauce would go best with which item.
We were unsure about one of the sauces and they kindly gave us a small dipping dish of the sauce for us to taste and try the difference between what we ordered.
They were also extremely attentive to the portions we received. One of our dishes had a smaller portion than what was written on the menu (which we didn't even notice) and they brought out another portion shortly after our food was served.
Overall, we all had a wonderful experience here and would definitely go back again.

Tasty kastus and big meat portions! Value for your money right there. Will definitely recommend

Maybe it wasn't the best day, but my tonkatsu felt abit dry and lacked flavour. Possible just my serving though as the other reviews are all raving! Will give it another shot though.

Just go. You don't need me to sit and describe every detail to you. Don't deliberate. Don't think. This is one of the best restaurants in Melbourne. Go.

There is no doubt about the food, true Japanese style cutlets, if you like to have with less fat, recommend you to have strip loin.
Must try this out!

Tiny little restaurant that specialises in Tonkatsu. Choose your cut of meat (rib eye or striploin), your sauce, and then any sides you want Small menu, but that means everything is done really well. Highly recommend!

Good food but doesn't live up to its hype. Everything was fried to a crisp without feeling too oily. Shredded cabbage was a little bitter. Tonkatsu sauce and curry sauce were as you would expect from a Japanese restaurant. Pork cutlets came out completely pink which threw me off at first, but apparently they're cooked and I've been fine a week since then so I guess it's true.

There wasn't much difference between the pork ribeye and pork striploin. Both had the same suppleness, only difference being the ribeye literally has more fat, like a thick layer of it similar to what you'd normally see on pork belly. Unless you like eating the fat I'd suggest to save yourself a few bucks and go with the striploin. Edamame was served in a relatively large portion.

I’m content with the quality of Tonkatsu. I appreciate that my friend brought me to this place. You will just need to make an upfront booking as you can’t just walk-in.

Best ton katsu in Melbourne. It's as close as it gets compare to Japan. Go with the fattier cut. Won't be disappointed.

Hands down the best tonkatsu in Melbourne. Ton & Co age and brine their pork, guaranteeing a juicy katsu. We have been eating here about once a month and the food is excellent every time. They also have breaded prawns and oysters, along with small snacks but we haven’t tried these - hard to go past the pork, and katsu + salad + the rice/miso combo is a substantial meal. The restaurant is quite small so recommend booking if you have a time in mind.

The best tonkatsu that i had ever. Pork so tender but the surface is really crispy. Tonkatsu Sauce is the plum flavour sauce, matches perfectly with the tonkatsu. Salad adds up to the layer of the tastes. Food is really nice and staff are friendly and professional. Small restaurant but really a surprise. Definitely will come back for another meal.

Excellent food and service! The ingredients were fresh and well prepared. Highly recommend their signature tonkatsus. You have the option of picking your accompanying sauce. Definitely a neighbourhood gem.

Returned to this restaurant after 2 years of lockdown. The quality of the food and service remains excellent. Definitely worth a drive there but do remember to book ahead of time.
