Tokyo Japanese restaurant reviews
49BEFORE YOU BUY - Ordered a Katsu Chicken Don for delivery and received just regular pieces of chicken instead of Katsu (deep-fried crumbed chicken). On top of receiving the wrong chicken, the meat was raw!
Some of the dishes were nice. Some friendly staff as well but sometimes food comes out slow and at times the food doesn't come out.
Service could be better, food was average, not authentic Japanese restaurant. One off visit, definitely won’t come back. Not recommended
The food variety is a fair but reasonable one given the price you pay for all-you-can-eat buffet. Teppanyaki beef cubes, Miso beef and Takoyaki are must-try. Chawanmushi is not good enough if you consider it as a staple item in any Japanese restaurant. For service wise, sometimes it’s slow and waitress forgotten to submit your order electronically. But they are kind enough to go check it out. The place is clean and kid-friendly.
Even though there are HEAPS of Japanese restaurants in Melbourne, I've been to this one multiple times, because their food is THAT good. Especially their beef tataki!
Took my son to Tokyo Japanese and we had the all you can eat option and had a great time. The staff are very friendly and for 2 hours we felt like kings.
You simply pick what you would like and they make it fresh for you, each time you choose a dish it is made.
Great value, I will be back with the rest of the family and I strongly recommend this restaurant, a must try is the miso beef.
Lunch special $7.9 for a bento with miso soup, great value and big dish, however the soup was too salty.
Went there for the all you can eat at lunch time straight from the train station as I was starving.
The girls were really kind to me and offered to hold my luggage while I went to the bank for some cash (better if you pay cash:)
I am a seafood lover so ordered 'cold food' and it was served straight away!
It was fresh and yummy. Plus it was unlimited times except for the salmon sashimi (fair enough, nothing in life is free).
30$ for this satisfaction was a great deal, taking in count that they also have to make a profit out of it ;)
The food was really good. We went here on a weekday dinner so we had the buffet at $29.8 per pax. I didn’t have problem with the staff. They are very accommodating, especially the middle-aged lady who smiled all the time and has even thanked us with enthusiasm. I liked that they even allowed us to charge our phones for free. We felt the Japanese vibe of the resto. The only problem with the place was the smell of the toilet. They could at least sprayed something to make it fragrant. Another problem was the dessert, it is an all you can eat resto but they only serve one ice cream. The sesame ice cream was a to-die-for but I concluded my meal there with so much craving coz they don’t serve more than one. They should have at least served us one each flavour of the ice creams, we could have tasted the green tea ice cream. Otherwise, I’ll make this rating a 4-5 star if these issues will be resolved.
Went there twice with friends, no regret. Nice food in small potions, which was fun as you could try different food n repeat ordered if you like any particular dish n prepared ONLY when you ordered, so a bit of wait when busy which was very common. Staff were kind, friendly n accommdating. Don't know what the fuss about others. Toilets may not be high class but it's CLEAN N FUNCTIONAL to be fair.
And WHAT'S WRONG if they r Chinese but able to serve good Japanese food? Live outside the box.learn another language!
We will definitely be back.
Could be zero star if I can.salmon shasimi limited 1 per customer.we are three people and just order one at the first time, order two more was not be served and been said by the staff we already have three.and the waiter and waitress was miss out our order always.for the first time was quick serve but when we order more was be slowed.for the dessert limited 1 per customer too.half scoop served for the ice cream.bad dining experience and won't be back again.
Good value, food is very decent considering the price. Staff are extremely passive aggressive and could stare down even the most rampant Karen. They also require you to pay before you eat. They were quite perturbed that I didn't have a booking however I had tried to book and the site wasn't working. Wouldn't return, just go to a sushi train.
Very disappointed. Food was ok but the waiters spoiled it for us. As others have said, once you have had the first couple of plates they purposely avoid you like the plague with no eye contact. A lot of the time they stood at some distance pretending to be busy.
It's like they are all on the same page and have been trained to do this so you give up and leave, as we eventually did. Also no good night or anything when we left. The place was very dirty and the fish tank with fish hasn't had a clean for years it was so black we didn't realize it had fish in it until they came right up to the glass.
Went during the down time. Most of the food we tried were great, though I would stay away from the tofu. Serving size are good for buffet, service and atmosphere are a plus.
The food are mostly OK. The sushi combination platter are disappointing as it served as 3 tiny pieces of California roll. THIS IS NOT A PLATTER. When asked, the staff didn’t have any idea. Some of the staff are rude, they would throw things onto your table, seems like they are underpaid.
The worst restaurant I have ever been to in Australia! Bad quality and bad food. I would NEVER ever return!
Waiter mixed up our orders. Plastic cups look unwashed. Curry to rice ratio was way off、 i was left with a lot of white rice. Not the best quality food、 but you get what you pay for.
Very limited choices and the taste of food is not good. I don't think it is worth the $. If u don't mind the taste of food at all, it can sure make u full (as it is all u can eat) but if u do care about the taste, then I am sure it will disappoint you.
It was terrible experience. (06/03/2019) at night
1.) The service of the waitress was badly
She was upset when I ordered the food for no reason like she didn’t want to work.
Her face looked super angry. (one person)
2.) the food nothing special.disappointed.
3.) I found two small insect in the dishes?
A lot of people wrote about rude staff which I didn’t experience. It might not be as fake enthusiastic as other restaurants, but I experienced friendliness from all staff. There are a lot of choices of food and for an all you can eat restaurant with that price, it’s a good deal. You get what you pay for and I enjoyed the food, some of it is authentic, some generic. But all in all, good experience. Would recommend the restaurant if you’re not too picky about everything:)
