Toi Shan Chinese Restaurant reviews
59 Orderd at 5.30 for delivery cancelled at 7 pm as we were told it hadn't been cooked yet.
Was told that our refund would take between 3 and 5 working days I asked to speak to the manager 3 time's but was refused as she was too busy. I fronted up to the shop at 7.30 and demanded a cash refund which I promptly received. Relaxing evening at home busted never again toi shan
Good Chinese.if people arent aware the Toi Shan were voted best Chinese in Australia by the foodies. 2 year's ago.pretty decent wrap
Be prepared to wait an hour and a half (or more!) for delivery, despite allocating a time when ordering. No fault of the actual delivery driver. Think I'll go elsewhere in future, disappointing.
Food is of good quality and much more authentic than other options in town. Strong flavours and the fried rice is actually fried well. Love the take away mix packs - that's what made me try them and keeps me coming back. Definitely try one for a good quick mid-week meal
One of the top Chinese restaurants in bendigo, all of our guests were very pleased with all the meals i ordered.
We decided to try this restaurant despite seeing some of the bad reviews and we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered fried rice, homemade dimsum and springrolls, wonton soup, honey chicken, Singapore noodles and stir-fry vegetables. They were all delicious and authentic. Singapore noodles has really good wok-hei. Very happy to see a family restaurant like this who have withstand the test of time. Will be coming back. Thank you very much.
A bit hit or miss, but when it's good it's pretty fantastic. Has all the standard Australian Chinese take away items on the menu. Delivery was really quick and the food was hot and fresh.
Come up from Melbourne. Second time here. What can I say about this place. First wish they had trained staff. We were served by a very young boy chewing on his gum. Omg. If I was not starving I would have left. Can’t believe such a lovely place but please get it together. It’s a shame because this place could be awesome. Think the young boy would rather be playing on his play station. Than being here.
Came here based on reviews because we are not local and were all a bit disappointed. Not sure what our mongolian beef was? Who puts chunks of tomato in mongolian beef? And it was very sweet like pineapple juice.
Appalling service - rudest staff I have ever encountered. I guess in a country town you don't have to try very hard. Food was average at best, avoid anything fried as the oil hasn't been changed in the last century. Mall food at best.
When you get take away and it arrives on time it's magnificent. Tonight late and cold with delivery driver and manager blaming each other. Vile food this time. Cold and horrible disgusting food. I would NOT feed it to my dog.
I always order the prawn chow mein as it’s the best I’ve had anywhere - husband likes the Mongolian pork with fried rice - it’s delicious. The staff are always friendly & welcoming. Sue is a delight. With Chinese tea & prawn crackers it’s a treat! Top it off with cream & lychees or deep fried bananas & you’ll want to return as often as we do - now we’ll probably have to make a reservation but I do agree some appropriate fine dining music would be a plus, if only so the sounds of others dining noises are muffled.
I went there for a friend’s birthday. We all ended up going a bit rogue and ordering outside the menu. They made a whole lot of special vegan and gluten free dishes to accomodate my dietary requirements. The cauliflower was to die for. I’ll be going back many times again for this dish alone.
The original, good special fried rice and combination chow mein was also nice staff were great. Best of all one of the few places open on ANZAC public holiday in Bendigo.
Very slow service. Waited over an hour for food. (Three dishes) 40 minutes for can drinks with wrong number of glasses. Food was not hot. Food was nice but very small portions. Not enough staff for an Easter Monday. Not a restaurant I will visit again. Atmosphere was non existent.
Great, fresh Chinese cuisine. Reasonably priced. Enjoyed a lovely banquet. Service was fast & efficient. Highly recommend this restaurant to those who love Chinese food!
Food was good, staff were not very helpful and restaurant had spider webs and dust everywhere, not a comfortable place to eat
If I could give this Chinese Restaurant no stars I would. This is the worst food I have ever eaten in my 60 something years and we waited 1.5 hours
2 large fried rice, not fried, plain white rice with a few peas carrot and a cube of ham/pork microwaved with a weird smell
Honey Chicken, burnt dry and reheated
Sweet and sour fish was received in an oily brown paper bag and microwaved to a soggy greasy mess
$73 later and it all went in the bin!
Changing my review - Food still fantastic, but front of house service has really gone down hill - is frustrating to deal with
Very nice, tasty and well presented dishes and the quality of cooking is to a high standard. Service and atmosphere also good. I've dined at this restaurant many times and the consistency always remains the same.
