Tinto reviews
54The staff need to work on their customer service and tactfulness. Service was slow, unfriendly and staff did not appear to understand their own policies regarding split bills, etc.
Absolutely supurb service, even the chef himself came out to us several times and explained what was on theenu. Very attentive to allergies. The food was outstanding.
Booked for the early sitting on a Saturday night. When we arrived, our booking had already been crossed off their list, so it wasn’t a great start, standing around wondering if there would be a table. But there was, so good-o. It was quite noisy in the dining room. I doubt you’d be able to have a conversation with anyone at the table unless they were sitting right next to you. Started off with a glass of the Turmeon vermouth - delicious! Food was ok. I probably liked the fried things (croquettes and patatas bravas) best, as I don’t often eat that kind of thing. I would have liked the lamb main course which is still on the website menu, but it’s no longer available in the restaurant, so that was a little disappointing. Twenty minutes before our kick-out time, the waitress came over and told us we’d have to leave soon, and in the next breath asked if we wanted dessert. OK then, no. Overall there was good and bad. I probably wouldn’t drive across town to go there again, but if I was in the area I’d happily sit at the bar for another vermouth
Fantastic Spanish food that's so fresh and full of flavour, followed by a fine wine off their wine list which isn't that extensive.
Very friendly staff and management.
Try the jugs of Sangria. Yummm
Gorgeous little restaurant with great atmosphere. It is pumping because the quality of food is so good. Staff are under the pump but its worth the wait for the delicious food. Highly recommend, a lovely night.
Undeniably this was a lovely venue with a good atmosphere. However the service was nervy and quite blunt, especially when it became apparent we had to leave due to another booking which was due to arrive. In this case we were simply told in a very forthright fashion that we needed to vacate the table. This is fair enough (and something you are made aware of at the time of booking), but it was the manner in which this was communicated, as we ultimately felt rushed and watched as the time of arrival of the other booking came closer.
The food, albeit nice, was expensive for what was offered in terms of portions. For example how anyone can argue that a bowl of 4 meatballs, with some basic sauce can be classified as a 'main' and justify a $25 price is out of the ballpark of reality.
Overall Tinto has potential, but has some service and pricing issues which need to be resolved before we would ever consider returning. Overall an underwhelming experience.but always willing to give a second chance.
Dinner this evening was sensational. Service brilliant and an absolute joy to eat in such a lovely restaurant. Food wonderful.
Tinto restaurant is a place where have too much crowd because of their Tasty food. Highly recommended!
Good food and cosy atmosphere. The service was also good and the place was busy. I enjoyed the calamari dish and the croquets.
Tasty menu with lots of different things to try. We had some of the specials and the wine list was good too. Dessert list is small but you could go for the cheeses option too. It was full on a Wednesday and you could see why.
This is a hidden gem down Burwood road in Hawthorn. The bar when you first walk in as a welcome entry that a lot of other restaurants could learn from. The service is friendly and the wine list is an extensive, signature list of Spanish varietal wines. The food is certainly on the pricey side but the servings are well worth it and the vibe of the whole place is definitely exuberant and great fun.we had a slight delay with one of our guest missing out on their meal for 10 minutes while everyone else began which is the only thing I could fault on the night. The crowd is certainly more of the senior generation but this should not deter you from coming down and enjoying a great experience at Tinto. Try the lamb shoulder with a glass of Rioja - it's amazing!
A wonderful gem! Great authentic Spanish food and experience.
Easy roadside parking. Warm ambience, Bar area is great for a glass of Sangria. Wine list is interesting with good selection of Spanish varietals.
Food is exciting with fresh ingredients and very well executed. Service is friendly and accommodating, given that we came with 2 kids without booking.
Can't sing higher praises for this neighbourhood gem and we will be back very soon.
Dropped in for a glass of wine after work, staff were accommodating on what was obviously a busy night
