Time Lapse Brewers reviews
18 Impressive coffee in Melbourne's competitive market; this place shines with Ona beans. The chorizo hash boasts a perfect balance of flavor and texture, enhanced by kale and a touch of dill for added freshness without overshadowing the dish.
Originally came for takeaway coffees, had one sip and turned around for breaky. No regrets.
I'd read about Time Lapse on a few different articles before visiting for one of their single origins. At first, they were hard to find. Eventually, once you enter the right alley, you get immediately pulled into the cute hole in the wall. The place is quite busy, even on weekends!
Unfortunately, I couldn't fully experience their best. It was difficult to communicate with the barista that attended to me as he was not fluent in english. I couldn't communicate with him what coffee I wanted and he served me an over extracted double espresso instead of a long black. My coffee tasted bitter instead of juicy
I may have been unlucky so I might still recommend other travellers to try this. I might try it again in the future but my first experience was not pleasant.
This place has potential but it just feels a bit half done. There are some attempts at making the place feel "cool", but then it also feels a bit industrial and stark. It's like they can't decide what vibe to go with. The food was pretty good (bacon and eggs, so it's hard to mess that up). Found the owners to be a bit aloof and not really focused on the customer experience. Again, not terrible, it's fine, just not quite as good as it could be.
My partner and I shared the Barista's Breakfast today.really nice coffee. Cafe is hidden away, operated by a nice family.very nice atmosphere too.
Honestly my favourite cafe in Melbourne, love the atmosphere, love the decor, love the food, love the coffee, and the service was great and chill. Cosy and simply a great place to sit down, have brunch and coffee and chill.
Really good food, great coffee. Honestly surprised, it's hidden in a dingy lane and I almost thought it wasn't there. But disregard the dodgy graphic design and get some food. I recommend the Chorizo Hash, the romesco sauce is
Had many, many coffees while in Melbourne and this was comfortably the best. Breakfast menu is simple but absolutely delicious. Service is friendly and efficient. Will be coming back next time we’re in town.
With the time between Christmas and New Year many places are closed. It was great to find this place right near our hotel. Excellent coffee. They also serve breakfast.
Thought it was an ONA café branch when I saw the sign outside but it is actually a normal café that serves coffee using ONA coffee beans. Flat white was strong and creamy but not milky; a very good cup of coffee. They also have a brunch menu available until 2pm.
Open on weekdays and the weekends in the quiet legal district. Amazing food and coffee, always friendly service.
Big breakfast was delicious! Perfect eggs, guac, mushroom, chorizo and bacon. One of the nicest breakfasts I've ever had. Chai tea was really nice too.
Still pretty quiet inside as it's quite a new place.
Great little spot, nice and clean, great coffee, breakkie’s are fantastic too! Filtered premium water to the table, friendly staff. It’s a bit hidden but I believe that’s why it’s called a gem!
I never seem to be able to find a cafe with both incredible food and coffee, it’s normally one or the other. However, this cafe has both, an absolute gem.
Very happy to report their serving Ona coffee, and more importantly - the Raspberry Candy; but most crucially, the team at Time Lapse know how to work with such a beautiful roast. I look forward to dropping in again soon!
Friendly service but as an ex chef the food here is way below average. I ordered a simple ham and cheese croissant and the centre was stone cold, the cheap processed cheese wasn’t even melted. I also had to exchange the bitter tasting mocha I ordered for a can of coke as it was so repulsive I didn’t want to risk trying anything else the guy suggested. Again the guy was nice but needs to learn how to cook and make decent coffee or this business won’t last long.
Delicious food, you can find a five star hotel food & coffee in this place! Highly recommend.
I fell in love with here at first taste! They do best coffee with special caramel and chocolate flavour. The pork and pasta are amazing! Will come back soon!
I don’t normally write reviews for food. However this cafe stands out and has reached beyond my expectation.
Very nice environment, friendly staffs and outstanding food for the price. Will definitely come back:)
