Tidal River General Store & Take Away reviews
42$7 for a bacon egg and cheese roll seems pretty reasonable these days, but the $1 disposable sauce conainers atb the cash register sends the wrong vibes for a national park
Pretty decent chips, truly wonderful calamari… but don’t get the “grilled” fish unless you’re looking for something tough and leathery to patch a hole in your boat with. Fried fish was better. Gift shop is pretty good, but unfortunately the item I wanted to buy was out of stock!
Expected the food to be expensive but was normal prices.we bet the rush so there was no wait for us.no complaints
Classic example of government bureaucracy trying to profit from a monopoly, and just failing. If they only leased out the space for small business operators to service people during prime times, then everyone would win.
Has a lot of good souvenirs and everything you need for camping as well as cold drinks and ice creams
We were terribly disappointed with limited selection of food in general store, slow service, uninviting atmosphere, very sad, unappealing cafe.
Shame there’s not more competition and they could lift their game.
The food, over cooked chicken in a soft over cooked microwaved roll, gravy with no taste, just awful unappealing, unappetising, un nutritious food.
So many families around the world visiting this majestic place and yet they experience this.
Very sad!
No stars
Considering this is the only Cafe/ store in the area it was pity poor. I advise anybody going to Wilsons prom to pack a good picnic with plenty to drink. The Cafe supplies bare essentials. Coffee doesn't have much coffee in it. This place needs an up grade badly.
The toilet in need of cleaning regularly. So many people Covid must be on the increase.
We went out on the boat ride for two hours and it was informative, respectful and entertaining. I would recommend this trip.
Covid effected staff levels but everything ran very smoothly. Upbeat staff made our time at the Prom groovy.
Limited stock and quite expensive. Ok for items you desperately need. Cafe food very average. Avoid the burgers.
Unpleasant, expensive coffee ($5.80)
Zero crema (& that's with 4 shots), yuk robusta-esque flavour served with attitude.
Change coffee supplier & train staff.
Refer photo.
Cafe ok, some staff need to be retrained on covid practices and attitude.
Served a bunch of people at 9am no masks myself included, go back in at 3.30pm and screamed across the cafe section, we can't serve you without a mask with an attitude
Either enforce masks at all times of the day or don't.
A lady came out of the shop also not wearing a mask and said she heard the worker scream from the other side of the shop.clearly being around wildlife and kookaburras she's starting to sound like one
Rude and unfriendly staff, seem inconvenienced whilst serving customers. Staff were not wearing there masks properly, whilst impolitely telling customers to "get out, " even though Victoria doesn't require customers to wear masks when ordering food. Staff also sighed and rolled their eyes when I asked for a large takeaway cup to put my coffee in, when already requesting for one when originally ordering.
Good takeaway food here (during COVID restrictions). Friendly service. A range of tourism products and souvenirs too. Watch out for birds outside flying past and stealing food from your hands.
Some Staff were quite rude and unreliable. Their hours were inconsistent, I went to go grab something to eat and it was shut at 3: 45pm even though it was shown that they close at 6pm. Food was okay however, menu was fairly limited as well as some fried food items were undercooked. A friend ordered originally 3 coffees and ended up receiving atleast 7 hot drinks. They seemed to be understaffed and therefore there was a minimum wait of 15 minutes to receive our food.
Coffee needs to be looked at.not the best even at double shot coffee.but great Mediterranean salad and a container to take home. Otherwise it was ok
Food was ok, prices were alright and it would have been a generally positive experience had it not been for the extremely sour woman yelling at people from across the cafe that you will not be served without a mask… while not wearing a mask. I absolutely support masks indoors but some people do have exemptions and should not have a spotlight pointed at them in front of other customers for not wearing one. There’s much better ways to go about governing this.
This woman should probably consider if working a customer facing job is actually for her because she honestly seems more suited to packing boxes in a dark room without any human contact.
The other ladies working at the cafe were lovely and it’s such a shame one person led to such an average experience.
Handy place for forgotten supplies or emergency tent pegs. Good coffee, souvenirs and friendly staff. Shop before you get there as supplies are limited.
Extremely friendly staff, excellent hot chocolate and a generally wonderful feeling to the whole place. Go to Wilsons Prom, support the local businesses and have a wonderful and safe trip.
The prom burger is yummy, very big size, general store got basically everything you might need in the camping.
Very handy general store with a range of basic necessities and not so neccesary. Stock well displayed and staff friendly. Could do with a wider range rather that a lot of the same.
