Thrifty-Link Hardware Romsey reviews
22On 3 separate occasions I have been served by a perplexed male staff member. He would rather sell me an expensive replacement of an item than the part required, despite knowledge of what I needed. On the last occasion I went to another shop who served me respectfully, demonstrated the very simple technique required in 5 minutes. The only explanation for the Romsey store experience is laziness.
Store would not honour online price, said that price which was $50 cheaper than the price in store for the same item was for click and collect only and if I wanted to do that I’d have to pick it up next week despite me being in the store and the product being available in store. This makes no sense after I had travelled to Romsey specifically to purchase this product and support a smaller business. Ended up spending my money at Bunnings instead. There would have been no difference to the sale price if they had honoured the online price at the store rather than making me do click and collect and inconveniencing the customer by then making me wait until next week for no reason.
Only did click and collect. But definitely be doing more shopping there. Nice small shop, not smothered by tons of people. So convenient too.
Decent local store for tools. Pretty much whatever you will find at bunnings you will find here (probably in smaller quantities though)
Could do with some buissines support as they have been robbed multiple times in the past few months.
They have some items but don't answer the phone regularly so it's quite annoying. Heathcote Mitre 10 are much more professional.
Awesome store, great range and lovely people. If you need any sort of hardware, this is you place in the local area. Can not recommend enough.
I have used these guys a number of times for everything from makita to sthil to steel, they have a great range and their sthil service is amazing
Extremely helpful & knowledgeable staff. Very personalised service compared to the large hardware stores. The range is a bit more limited but the customer service makes up for it.
Very knowledgeable and super friendly staff. Well stocked store, with a wide range and fair price
Great service very friendly staff and I always get help with anything I need.
I really love the stor and love this family.
Absolutely perfect service! A young man named luke looked after me today and seemed to know where everything was placed in the store! He provided the best service I have recived in a number of years and will definitly be returning to the store solely due to his service.
Best service I have received in the local area. Whether it is Luke or Nick, or anyone there. Always so friendly and helpful. And when they do not know the answer, they are always so keen to ask another customer to help me out.
And all these have happened more than once.
It's pretty convenient for people who live around this area. If you just want to purchase basic stuff you probably find them here however, you don't get many options as this is a small store.
Great Service! I rang in hopes of putting together a last minute birthday present to be delivered locally in Romsey. These guys have gone above and beyond to help me! Couldn't recommend these guys any more!
Amazing. You may pay a little more but the service is truly amazing. More than helpful and take the time to ensure you are getting what you need. They are also awesome if you need to return something. I shop there purely for service and quality.
Having recently moved into my newly constructed home just outside town, i found myself inspired to start creating my own garage oasis, including cabinets, shelving, and of course; a work bench. However, I was suddenly hit with the realization that i lack the ability to correctly assemble a flat pack from the local Swedish owned furniture conglomerate, let alone the carpentry skills and know-how required to accomplish my lofty goal. So.after several hours googling basic bench designs, measuring, and watching YouTube tutorials, i took my plans down to the larger hard wear retailer in Sunbury where I explained my plans to the gentlemen in the trades section. The experience was less than positive with much laughter and questions raised regarding my manly-hood. As i drove back to Romsey, ranting to my wife about the whole ordeal, i was undeterred in my quest and fronted up to the local hardware store. I rather sheepishly walked around the store, clutching my notebook, before working up the courage to approach one of the staff members. I was referred to Nick who was sited as their resident carpentry expert, to whom I anxiously explained my plans, showed him my sketches and proclaimed my ignorance. He was excellent! He was patient and understanding, giving me clear advice and guidance without overwhelming me with technical information and decisions (for which i had no background knowledge to assist in making). He went above and beyond, showing my how to measure out the timber correctly, before then cutting it for me so i would not have to purchase a circular saw. I cannot speak highly enough of his conduct, and although the prices at this little hardware store may (or may not; i really have no idea) be a little higher, i will most defiantly be making this place my first stop for future projects.
Thankyou.
P. S the bench has come up a treat!
Very helpful and knowledgeable staff they have a large range of hardware and it is easy to drive there.
Very rude, always out of stock, never calls to tell you the stock is in and nick can be very disrespectful, i now go to woodend
Been down there twice now to purchase tools and hasn't cost me to much great price also excellent staff too
Thrifty link Romsey is great if you're looking for items that you need quickly as they are not too bad price but with some things I can't justify the price that they charge. Since changing hands they have done a great job and keeping the place stocked with all the essentials that you'll need for a one stop shop. The only small criticism I have is that sometimes you have to wait to be served for about 10 to 15 minutes as there is not much stuff on
