Thorpdale Potato Festival reviews
12The first pleasant surprise for this amazing festival was being able to purchase a family ticket which included 4 children in the total cost, these days that's as rare as hen's teeth. The surprises kept on coming when my kids discovered all the jumping castles, slides, petting zoo, face painting etc were free! Again, that is a rarity. We stayed the entire day and just loved the fun, country atmosphere. If I could give 6 stars I would!
What a great day out. Thought we’d be there for a couple of hours and was there the whole day. So many activities for the kids, plenty of stalls and food options. Can’t wait for the next one. Hats off to the organisers it was the best one yet!
Amazing day, entry price decent especially with kids, all rides free and magician kept everyone entertained. Animals stall. Chip drop from the plane. Beautiful food stalls, raffles, wood carving, photo comps, music in two locations. Not to mention exciting races all throughout the day to watch, scouts did amazing effort with the kids games also. What a great effort by volunteers to organise, I didn’t get to see everything as there was so much to do, missed the shearing and industry tent!
Also locals parked all the way to town, it’s a nice walk- otherwise parking was directly opposite with roads closed:)
Such a fun day, with loads of activities, yummy food and great entertainment. Great way to spend a Sunday.
The community of Thorpdale have outdone themselves once again! Good old fashion fun for an affordable price, plenty to do for everyone. Well done to the organisers for a phenomenal effort all round.
Totally agree with previous review.
No signs directing to event. Cars parked down to town, people in for big surprise on distance and incline to top.
Price at gate 50% higher than online not indicated. You have totally lost my patronage
What a fantastic local festival for the whole family. So well organised with so many free activities, a plethora of quality food choices, lots of free entertainment and fun activities for kids and adults alike. Queues were reasonable, even for the large crowd present on the day. Big applause for the organising committee, looking forward to the next festival
Best festival yet!
Top job by the committee members and volunteers supporting them. Everywhere you looked there was something going on, all day! My kids didn’t wanna leave.
My kids had the best day and didn't want to leave. Lots of free activities, games, rides, face painting, petting zoo, reptile show, cfa did a jaws of life demonstration and chopped up a car, TC Tricks motorbike stunt show, the shearing demo was great as was the working dogs with the ducks, and the chip drop from the plane was awesome. Lots of food stalls and markets and all the spud competitions were entertaining to watch. A great day out and very well organised. We loved Chippy the Potato mascot too
The Thorpdale Potato Festival was amazing! It was a perfect day & the venue was superb. For a very small ticket price, you got free children’s rides, face painting, petting zoo, reptile display, jumping castles & much more. There were competitions, sheep shearing, dog trials, wood carving & loads more free entertainment. There was so much food, a bar, bands & a fashion parade of clothes made out of hessian. There was at least a hundred market stalls. It was really an astonishing array of entertainment for all. Talk about value for money!
What an amazing day, so much to see and do. The kids loved the jumping castles and getting to see the snakes and other animals. So much Delicious food and a sneaky cocktail! So awesome to see so many local community groups involved in this event.
Loved it and really look forward to going again in 2 years.
Being told the pensioners price was $10 each when I arrived at the gate we were told it would cost an extra $ 10 because we didn’t book and pay online. We didn’t want to pre book online because the forecast was for showers. There was nowhere on the website that said it would cost a lot more to buy entry at the gate. This is a rip off by the organisers. We decided not to be scammed into paying an over inflated entry fee to go to what was in fact a fancy over priced Sunday market.
