Staff have bad attitudes and the owners won't do a thing about it. I recommend the IGA further up Gilbert Road (392-398 Gilbert Rd, Preston VIC 3072). The staff are very friendly and it is bigger and offers a wider selection of things you'd expect from an IGA.

Late opening, abusive, complaining. Aggressive older woman at front end.

Totally unhelpful, would not open deli. Whining, annoying, disrespectful, unpleasant …. Why work in customer service if it makes you feel like this?

Gives the company a very bad name.

My local IGA managed by an absolutely lovely family. A good range of local wines and some French and Italian wines as well. The store caters for an inner city diet and includes a good deli and organic breads. Adjacent to the IGA are a range of cafes and takeaways as well as a chemist, hairdressers, yoga studio.dry cleaner and seamstress/tailor. IAH

Don’t mind paying a bit extra to support a local store. Understand that managing freshness and supply is a struggle. COVID has been super hard on everyone. But woah, the manager of this place is utterly, inexcusably toxic.

Smiling whilst behaving in the most passive aggressive and fault-finding manner with customers, openly hostile and abusive to staff. Seems to enjoy provoking a confrontation wherever possible, out of thin air, and inevitably leaves you walking out feeling like you did something wrong when you know you didn’t. People this unhappy shouldn’t be in retail.

Make sure you check the use by dates - fourth time I’ve bought something covered in mould from this rude business!
- onion cut open that was black inside
- bread with mould growing between the slices
- pasta sauce (from the fridge) that was 3 weeks out of date
- And this evening - a bag of cheese that was covered in green mould.

Health inspector should really be paying these guys a visit. Ruined my dinner.

Lovely people, excellent range of handy things and treats. Reasonable prices. Appreciate them not being too rigid about EFTPOS minimums like everywhere else, helpful to those who don’t carry cash

Refused service due to not wearing a mask.
I stated that I have a medical exemption and the lady behind the counter demanded proof or refusal of service. I left my groceries on the counter and walked out. Wasn’t your “ friendly IGA’ that my young children witnessed that day either!
By law I do not have to produce proof of an exemption and these people clearly don’t know the law. Lady was rude and obnoxious and you could tell she was dying to “ throw her attitude around”. This was my semi local but I or my family will never shop there again plus I tell everyone I can, “don’t shop there, go up the road to Gilbert Road IGA, much friendlier and better stocked”.
This happen Saturday at 10.15am

Well stocked and not too pricey. Handy local supermarket. I try to support local businesses instead of the 2 big supermarkets. Also have a bottle shop. Veggies are usually fresh. Some gourmet breads too.

Demands a $5 minimum when paying by card during the covid pandemic, this at a time when we are meant to be avoiding card payments! Mean spirited and overpriced. I'll be avoiding this sham of a shop.

Nice little supermarket, polite staff, and with a well stocked deli, prices a little high, but, it's a pleasure shopping there, with a lotto agency also.

The staff are nice enough but they could be multi trained, to use registers, deli etc. Very expensive. I’d shop here more if it were cheaper. Often stock is out of date. So many people buy with cards these days, minimum spend is annoying. I don’t understand why businesses can’t just build eftpos costs into their general overheads, like electricity.

Worst IGA in Melbourne! Unfriendly staff, expensive, very poor. $10 limit on EFTPOS, a disgrace.

UPDATE. They now accept card payment below $10, so I have put the rating up from a 1 star to a three.

Wouldn't recommend to come here for the trouble, wanted to get youfoodz say don't supply it anymore just excuses, slow service should know how to use a cash register already if they have no training.overall experience very dissapointed won't shop here again take my money elsewhere.

Expensive.way expensive compare to any other supermarket. Won't accept cards imposing a minimum spending.
Not necessary to profiting overcharging customers.

Insanely expensive and l mean expensive as in many items of identical brand names are in excess of double the price of what these are at Woolworths or Coles Supermarkets. Limited range in fresh vegetables, the NON vine-ripened tomatoes for example, are far higher prices than equivalent vine-ripened tomatoes at Coles & Woolies. They obviously have a "captive audience" because if one does not have access to a car, the nearest Coles or Woolies is a fair hike away!

This is my local and I enjoy going there because of the lovely mix of friendly staff. I always have a pleasant conversation and the supplies are perfect for a shop just round the corner.

Small and friendly supermarket with everything you need. For such a small shop, they pack in quite a good range of products. There’s a small selection of vegetables, an extensive deli and bottle shop. Prices are competitive.
