THEODORA BAR AND GRILL

My Fiancé and I came here for dinner with a booking. The owner then greeted us saying are you with “Groupon or just a booking”? We immediately went online and saw a deal for $59. We were in the middle of paying for the deal on Groupon after having asked a waitress if we should pay Groupon or the front desk. The owner then came over and then said you can’t use Groupon as you have already come into the store which is absolutely not fair. I began to explain to him that we have not paid for anything as of yet and is no different to us booking through Groupon and coming back. He refused to honour the deal and we again explained to him that he is losing business by doing this as we actually have come here multiple times and enjoyed the food. His excuse for this was that it is “marketing” so this somehow doesn’t apply to us?

Absolutely lousy customer experience and it is clear the level of professionalism in the front of house is severely lacking. We will never be coming back here on principle.

Firstly, we already had a booking and were planning on ordering the meat platter for two anyway. The staff member mentioned only a few items were swapped out with the Groupon (Sausage instead of cutlets, etc) which if there was an issue with stock (which I don’t believe there was) then we would have been accomodating and understood. You never mentioned anything about stock levels last night, your excuse verbatim was “it’s marketing”, so it’s clear you only want to get customers in the door and now you are trying to come up with any excuse to cover up your mistake from last night instead of just owning up to your unfair mistreatment of us.

Secondly, Groupon was STILL taking booking for the night we came in and we were about to pay until you rudely came over and told us we couldn’t. If somebody else decided to book on Groupon that night and then decided to come by you wouldn’t have food for them?

Great, fresh and flavourful food and customer service. Also super friendly staff made our over experience so much more enjoyable! Love and will for sure be coming back!:)

Theodora’s Bar and Grill is a warm and inviting place to go with family and friends for a memorable occasion. The food is absolutely delicious and even though you struggle to finish whats on your plate.you can’t bare to leave anything behind! I highly recommend the banquet where you get to taste the true meaning of Greek cuisine! Yum yum yum!

Been here a few times and the food, service, and atmosphere are always excellent. Will definitely be back and highly recommend.

A very big Thank you for a wonderful night on Saturday 18/1/20 for my daughters 40th birthday. All our guests commented how much they enjoyed it. The food was fantastic, and plenty of it, so compliments to the chef. Your attentiveness was noted and appreciated very much - the cake supplied was wonderful and so yummy, not to mention the delicious donuts! Our daughter enjoyed everything so much.we would highly recommend Theodora's to our friends and family and we will definitely see you again soon

Very poor experience overall, especially considering the location and pricing of the venue. Our food took over one hour to arrive, the waiter couldn’t speak English and was difficult to communicate with. Our chips arrived burnt, the meat didn’t taste great, one entree and one main were entirely forgotten. The entire evening was spent going back and forth between the waiter, owner and our table in order to rectify the issues above. Would not recommend.

Not since we were in Greece have we had such an amazing meal. The food is so fresh great flavours and the service is wonderful. It has made the whole night a wonderful experience we are only sorry we have to travel so far to get such a great meal! Don’t miss this restaurant well worth coming an amazing night! Almost don’t want to leave a review and tell everyone about this gem! Food is so delicious, tastes just like in Greece. Staff couldn’t be better, so friendly and accommodating. Restaurant is big enough for large groups but the small tables are still comfortable if it’s just two of you. We travel across town to eat here.

Had a fantastic experience at Theodora. Beautiful well kept restaurant with authentic Greek food that was tasty and plentiful. The owner and staff were extremely friendly and my wife and I look forward to going back for another visit to a very warm and friendly place. I would highly recommend this establishment and it's not often that I do say that.

Everything here is delicious and everyone was so friendly. Tried a great Greek wine - excellent coffee, had a well looked after vegetarian with us. Look forward to becoming a regular.

Best authentic Greek food restaurant in Melbourne, fantastic tasty traditional Greek food, the seafood and meat was quality, fresh, very well cooked and organic, the chef was superb, ambiance and waiters were great, highly recommended, will keep going back for more.

Not the best place. Not enough food. Spent equivalent of $250 only to leave the place hungry. Food that we ordered didn't arrive. Cannot recommend this place at all. A shame as we didn't experience the same as other reviewers.
