43 This might have been the most disappointing Greek food I’ve ever had.
I’ll start by saying the servers were really lovely and I cannot fault them.
Firstly, the restaurant decor doesn’t make sense. Why have lovely wooden tables then throw ugly white table cloths on top and then when you go to eat they put plastic over the top of that?
Anyway, let’s get to the food.
We ordered: the dips (eggplant & tzatziki), the char grilled octopus, the baked potatoes and the lamb gyros.
Dips - these were ok. Not terrible but they were served with these rolls that were rock hard on the outside but then undercooked and doughy on the inside.
Octopus - for $26 this was the tiniest serving. But that aside, it was almost inedible. Like chewing on rubber.
The baked potatoes - this was the biggest disappointment out of all. There was no chance at all these were freshly made or even made that day. I know what my Yiayia’s potato’s taste like and feel like a few days after they’re cooked and that was exactly the same. Not fresh and definitely microwaved. The flavour was disappointing too.
Lamb Gyros - This was at least edible but far from “good”. Very dry and bland. Definitely not cooked fresh/cut fresh off the spits that day.
Overall it was just a sad meal.
I feel bad for anyone thinking this is anything close to authentic Greek food.
Great food, quirky decor.loved the upside down buckets as light fittings.
We had a banquet, a stream of food coming throughout the night, generous platters of dips, crusty bread, grilled fish, grilled prawns, calamari, salads, chicken skewers, lamb cutlets, rissoles and heaps of other stuff too numerous to mention. Desserts were also generous, freshly made with delicious coffees. Staff were super friendly and helpful as well.
YUMMMMM!
Best Greek restaurant in Melbourne
The owner is the front man
So hospitable and genuine
Definitely recommend this place
We had a banquet; far too much food! Fresh and quality tasting dishes. Not too packed. Wasn't cheap.
Busy, great food, band on a Friday night, atmosphere was vibrant was a great venue overall and food was delicious
High quality Greek food! We had a wonderful time celebrating my husband's birthday there! Hope to return soon!
We have been here before and hopefully it was a once off but food was dissapointing. It wasn't as good as previously occasions and didn't seem fresh at all, especially the Calamari and other seafood.
Portion sizes and quality of food was not there.
Very dissapointing.
This was the feedback from most of the table.
First time patron found food, service, and atmosphere fabulous highly recommend will be back see you soon
The food was good, although the piece of saganaki was very small. The pita bread was burnt, the service was not the best.
Awesome spot for authentic Greek cuisine! Service was spot on and the atmosphere was electric! Cheers!
We visit this place last week and had a beautiful meal with great service.we had the set menu.
Recommend to anyone, will be back soon.
Great food! The best most authentic Greek restaurant! And friendly like no other! He calls me Giano! Theo is a true expert in the cuisine and the service is prompt.
Great place to dine with family and friends. Carpark can be a bit of a challenge at times. Food is great.
After flying into Melbourne overnight, it was time for dinner then an early bed. We arrived without booking and Theo said he was fully booked. I asked again "what if I eat quick" and Theo said I could have 45 mins before the next booking on this table.
I sat down with my sister, asked for a beer and the lamb gryo both were on my table within 3 mins.
We didn't want to rush this excellent meal, but we pushed in and also needed an early night.
Great service tonight Theo and was a privilege to bless your business afterwards.in Ἰησοῦς name
I love Greek food. I have been to Greece and love its freshness and its authentic flavours. Without a doubt, Theio is by far one of the best Greek restaurants I've eaten in in my life. Top 10 for sure in the world.
We had a good time, we had a fabulous time - will be back again. Don’t forget the desserts
Great food, great place, great ambience, love the service. First tried the place with family, then came back with friends. Hasn't ceased to disappoint me.
We have been to heaps of Greek places but never had such a great service, food, drinks. Everything is so beautiful so beautiful so beautiful so authentic authentic authentic. Highly Recommend
Yiamass Theio Theo!
Came here for a dinner and left an extremely happy man.
We had a large table and the service was still fast and friendly.
The starters were all very tasty and kept me going until the mains arrived.
The mains were top notch tasty and the desserts finished us off nicely. They had the home made taste to it.
The live music was a very warm feeling and made me feel like a was back in Greece and the option for a dance or too is the best
Location is easy to find.
Plenty of parking around.
Service was top notch considering it was a full house.
Would recommend and return.
Great service and without a doubt the Best Greek restaurant in town - food was just amazing and an abundance of it - I strongly recommend it to anyone who enjoys quality.
