The Village Door reviews
37 Got kids dishes, chips and cheese soldiers ($33).
Not sure I would go there again. Took photos, nice chips.no cheese!
I understand portion control, but this was extracting the urine and detrimental to future business as there wasn't any cheese.
So I paid $22 for two slices of toasted bread.
The new people who own the restaurant are doing a great job and have done such good work with keeping the business alive
Very disappointed to get there at 140 to be told no longer serving lunch. Coffee was good but we didn't like the atmosphere. Cheesecake was average.
Splendid food! The cevapi roll and chips along with dutch pancakes was amazing. A must try cafe joint
My son suggested this place for brunch to me and my wife as we were visiting from Queensland. The quality of the haloumi centre'd dish was superb and would not have been out of place in the top restaurants I have eaten at around the worlds capitals. Truly superb. Also a shout out to the barrister on the day as my 'flat white' was the best I had that week in Melbourne - and I drink a lot of coffee.
We will definitely be back.
We had the breakfast platter for 2. So much food, delicious! Dutch pancakes too, yum, yum!
The best food and coffee. Beautiful and cosy place.
Friendly and happy people.
Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Highly recommend.
Coffee just Luke warm. Big bfast all oily. Should be better for what we're all paying these days.
Horrible service from staff. Our order was wrong/ missing items. Our kids were feed 30minutes before adults, no apology was given only complete contempt. I have never experienced such rude service in my life. Food was nice but wouldn’t recommend eating here for the sheer lack of customer service. So disappointed in our experience.
Definitely worth to try!
The ultimate breakfast platter is to die for! Most favourite item is the dutch pancake of course YUM!

What a gem! Amazing food! Great size portions! Decent price, especially the specials. Highly recommend!
So disappointing, the breakfast took almost an hour, the kids had finished half an hour before the platter came out. The service was revolting, the poached eggs were like golf balls and had to be remade, my breakfast was made twice and finished before the platter arrived. Way overpriced, won't be back.
We recently had our daughters baptism at The Village Door with 30 guests. It was absolutely phenomenal.
The staff were amazing. The food portions were fantastic, we took some home. The quality of food was great, so authentic and delicious.
The gluten and dairy free meals were also exceptional. Filling and not lacking in taste.
The venue itself is 10/10. Great outdoor area. The kids enjoyed being able to run up and down in the sun while we enjoyed a wine.
It was really Value for money.
Definitely recommend and will return in the future.
My gf had heard great reviews of the place so we went for breakfast. Ordered a $60 lazy susan breakfast for 2. (ultimate platter I do believe) I personally was disappointed in most of it. The Pancakes were lovely. As were tomato, hash browns, baked beans and amazing 3 mushrooms. But the saucage was extremely dry and over cooked, and the Bacon was way over killed. Peoples brochetta looked lovely nearby. Service was great though
Had the breakfast platter everything was cold and the Dutch pancakes were so dry and cold horrible
Thanks for your reply. I’m not trying to deter customers Im just giving my honest opinion since Reviews are meant for customers individual experience being negative or positive and unfortunately today mine was a negative one. I gather you make loads of platters, this is why the food was cold and seemed pre-cooked. It’s would of been amazing if it was hot and the stuff was friendly
Had the big breakfast for two which was a great concept. The service was excellent, coffee came out fast and the setting, even outside was nice. However the big breakfast was Luke warm and the pre prepared food was obviously kept in a cool bay marie. Also half a tomato and two pieces of mushroom? Odd.
The rest of the food was generous. Keen to come back but want hot food.
I had a late breakfast on Sunday. 29. Food served cold. Average quality of the products, exception made for the bacon. No passion or love in plating up a dish, no interest in asking "new customers" if salt, pepper, butter or anything else was needed. Rude team working there. No greetings, no please, no thank yous. Zero manners. Everyone was clearly annoyed at the sight of any customer walking in. Very few customers eating there. It took them 20 minutes to send two coffees out and at least 40 to serve two breakkies with poached eggs (cold), avo (no oil nor seasoning), bacon, served on a slice of sourdough (barely toasted, no butter). They will never see me again.
Incorrect meal, first attempt then second attempt toast was soggy and sitting in water. Inedible. Returned meal.
From a french toast hunter, honestly they have got the best breakfast/brunchs around, it's my favourite go to place for the past few months now, Lovely service and excellent coffees.
Where are the prices on the online menu, how sneaky
Never been there but would've if there were prices online!
