The psychologist at The Talk Shop ensures I feel heard and respected and provides meaningful and realistic solutions and tools to combat anxiety and negative thought processes. Thank you Emily!

On a waiting list for years! DO NOT go here! Change your referral and run! They do not care about you. These people will make your mental health worse!

I wanted to balance some of the reviews regarding the receptionist. I called today and she was fabulously helpful and sent links via sms within minutes of us speaking.

Robyn is a wonderful Psychologist. She goes above and beyond to help her patients and is very understanding and genuine. I have been coming here for a few years now and would not go anywhere else.
I have been to other psychologists but never really "clicked" wih any of them until I met Robyn. I feel very privelaged to have met her and glad to have her on my journey. Thankyou so much Robyn:)

Martha was amazing. We had our first session with her and in just the hour we spent talking through everything I already feel like we’ve made headway. She was empathic and led the conversation with my son gently. We both thought she was fantastic.

Can understand everyone's frustration with this place!

I am also on a MHCP and really need to speak to a Psychologist as I have been feeling quite anxious lately, given a personal circumstance, I have been going through but still not able to make a booking, even after 6 months, for being "penalized" for "unintentionally" missing their call due to the first day of a class overlapping their appointment time in the lunch hour due to the instructor!

"Coldest" people on earth - only money is important for them!

Just reading some of these reviews and people in general seem to think they are speaking to a call centre. They are not. It is unfortunate that the main receptionist has an unfortunate and rather blunt manner at times and a very strong accent that can be difficult to decipher. Therefore wires do become crossed BUT she does know what she is doing. If you can be patient and respectful there are some excellent psychologists in The Talk Shop worth trying to sort out the paperwork side for.

Been coming here seeing Nasseema for several years, she has been a fantastic resource in my mental health journey

Don't bother.
A call center OS that would call 4 hours before an appointment to say they double booked can they re book you? This happened on many occasions. $180 per session and he was on a care plan.
Unfortunately the counselor my son was seeing was not very pro active either.
I had more success with the public system through Eastern Health.

Terrible.
Called up to find out who would be the best person to speak to regarding Post Natal Depression and I was advised it was Fina but she isn't taking new patients. When I asked if there was anyone else at possibly a different location or possibly someone else the answer was "No, she is the only one". When I replied "Well that's not very good is it, so there is no-one that can help me? ". Response "No. "

Good job guys you are doing a really good job at supporting those in need.

Naseema and the team really care about their clients. I have not had any issues. Would highly recommend, especially if it is your first time.

Came for a few sessions about 3 yrs ago then stopped as I had found full time work which was a major factor of my deteriorating mental health due to employment stability being near impossible with social anxiety. This review is only intended as constructive criticism for Shirlene and and honest reflection of my brief experience as her client. Friendly introduction but then onwards very, very cold and distant. I felt as if my intentions or motivations for being there were not genuine. When I cried in the 1st or 2nd session there was no empathy shown at all and actually i was questioned about my sincerity. Now here's the thing, i didn't actually need or want emotional support I wanted to learn healthy coping strategies and useful information I could use practically to get back into the workforce. I actually appreciated the direct cold and straight forward approach. But my rating is reflective of the thought of her treating an incredibly vulnerable person in the same manner that actually did require emotional comfort can only hope Shirlene has improved her rapport building skills and focus on client comfort as I believe its crucial for most people. I just happen to be the type to get the solutions and apply them to get back to some form of functional living asap. Anway I'm back in the market for a psychologist as Im in a worse position than when I first visited here. I may consider returning but will say that the overall online reviews do sadden me as TTS is far more deserving than whats been showed here. Poor form by the reviewers as it does a huge disservice to this otherwise good practice and the people looking for honest reviews to make one of their most important decisions of their life. Sorry for the essay but I hope this feedback helps provide a more objective perspective to those who need it. Cheers. Gaz

Spoke to the call centre after reading the reviews. Ripped up my referral. Using a call centre overseas is not the right first step towards seeing a local professional.

I'm sure the psychologist was was fine my daughter was happy enough.
However, i was not asked for a payment after the session, i was informed, by the therapist that due to a mental health care plan there would be no charge.
I was rung and asked for payment 5 hrs after, which i could barely understand the call.
I had to insist that i, receive a emailed invoice so i could then go to medicare, to proceed with the rebate,
Hopefully that is as prompt as the request for payment.

Very disappointed! My friend took a step to finally seek some help for her depression and saw Kathleen Chan. She was very unprofessional with her work and made my friend feel even worst with her depression. The session was poorly done, and conversations were closed ended. See a different psychologist and save your time.

Booking through a Thai call centre? Horrendous. Often the woman taking appointments was unfriendly and unhelpful. No bulk billing after 5pm and weekends but the only appointments I could ever get for my kids was after 5 and on weekends. The waiting room and psychologist rooms are tiny. Hard for anyone with prams or wheelchairs. Disappointing.

Terrible, if i could give one star i would. Customer service is a joke, tried charging me $280 for being 8 minutes late to my appointment even though i have full private health insurance and a mental health plan. Please avoid at all costs
