The Star Hotel Sale

We waited a while for our dishes the satay chicken was delicious but the salad and rice was dry and tasteless the fish was just borderline cooked and greasy the steak was cooked ok. The staff were friendly and helpful, but we could hear a lot of yelling from the kitchen.

Dined in for lunch with a group of friends. Good choices on the menu with something to suit everyones taste.
It was good that you could choose from a lunch menu, Seniors menu and the specials menu.

Staff were friendly and happy to seat us and take our orders before lunch service hours. Our meals came out beautifully fresh 3 minutes after opening time, and it was flavourful and filling. Highly recommend.

Was put on a table next to people when we could have been put separate.took around 30mins for food to come out.

I am new to Sale and decided to go along to this restaurant last Friday night. I prefer my own cooking rather than going out to eat, but oh my.this was the best meal I have had in all my 71 years! Chicken snitzel with Seafood sauce and chips with vegs. All nice and hot and reasonably priced. The sauce had huge prawns and was creamy and delicious, with the rich flavours of the seafood. Definitely be back, can't wait to return ️. Thank you to the welcoming staff

Awesome place to grab a beverage and a meal and meet up with mates. Major shout out to Jeremy and Kinah incredible all-arounders and providing that helpful and respectful customer service the Star is known for.

Our fellow guests loved the roast pork, my husband loved his steak sandwich, especially with the turkish bread, and I thoroughly enjoyed my beef thai salad. Pleasant atmosphere and clean toilets too. Definitely returning.

So my treasured family comes to Sale for the night and I thought we would share a lovely country pub dinner. Have tried a few as I get to know the area as well. Booked one of the last available sessions which was accepted and we were on time. On arrival we were met by a lovely engaging staff member who was very polite. They made sure that the specials were advised including which ones had finished, we were then shown to a booth, showing its age but clean. My brother took our orders and went back to the counter to place them, he was back very shortly to tell us, the steaks are finished, grill off, not happy but then selected beef cheeks, same result, no they are off also, only items left was the Roast Pork with chips and veg or chips and salad (menu clearly shows roast potatoes but they were off) and chicken parmigiana, so eventually two Pharma’s and a roast port with chips and veg.
Roast was tepid, gravy was lumpy from being the last in the jug, Pharma’s both had been reheated by the taste of them.
Just not good enough, dont take the booking if you cannot supply, your eagerness to clean and get off work early is not showing country pub service

Not going back there, lost me there.

Was busy night, we were told the wait would be 45mins for food which we were ok with. Ended up, waiting for more than an hour. The waitress did offer us a drink for our wait, which was nice!

It was average this time i got a bar parma and it was burnt and small and there was 7 chips that's right 7 chips and 3 of them were crunchies for the price I believe it's terrible

Awesome play area for kids. Meals were average. They weren't terrible but they weren't good. They definitely didn't match the price being paid. I'd give it one more try before riding it off as nothing more than 'the place to go if someone in the party has children that need to be entertained'.

Very was very, very nice and great value for money. We have always enjoyed it, and will definitely come back again and again. Risotto was absolutely beautiful as was the pork belly.

Food was tasty. Atmosphere pretty good considering it was boxing day and they were one of the few places open.

The staff are an asset to the owners.

We moved locally over 20 years ago from Melbourne. Friends introduced us to the Star Hotel. Over the years with changes of chef's and changes in staff we have never experienced a change in hospitality. We have lunched at many other venues in Sale, but if we wish to dine with close friends we have few options. The Star Hotel being one of them.

Over for family Christmas and we didn’t have many options on Boxing Day.

Went here and I have to say it was 5+ stars. Awesome food, kids ate free because it was a Monday night, great service, and big kids area to entertain the little ones.

Couldn’t fault. Thanks to all the staff!

Such a wonderful place to get a mea. Lovely vegan options and they even have nuttelex for us.

Great service from the moment we walked in. Staff were super friendly & our meals were delicious.

Ordered the steak with garlic sauce on the side, came with the steak smothered in the garlic sauce and a mushroom gravy on the side? Not what I ordered but it okay. The porterhouse steak is fairly overpriced for what we received.

I think the kitchen need some training but the service was good.
