The Stables at Stones

Wonderful evening. Lovely staff and incredible food in a beautiful setting. Definitely coming back.

My wife and I enjoyed an exceptional experience dining at the Stables. The sevice was 5 star and the fixed menu was delicious, plentiful, and a real taste experience.

Venue was really good but the fooddwas average.servings were really small and had to get drive thru after the four course meal. Octopus was a bit chewy and dry.

We held our wedding day at the stables for an elegant and intimate affair, we were super thankful to the whole dining team for their professionalism at the chapel and in the stable. I would 100% do it all over again the only this that let them down however, if you are booking out accomodation as well, like we dod be sure you get all the inclusions. We didn’t have a great after reception experience with the farmhouse / brewhouse with a clearly grumpy overnight manager whom really didn’t want to be there and the drinks that were meant to be available were not.

This place, located between the vineyards of Punt Road and St. Huberts (one of the oldest wineries (offspring of the oldest) in the Yarra Valley), is in any way stunning. I was fortunate enough to celebrate my wedding in this beautiful little chapel opposite the Stables and have Apéro and Dinner in the Stables afterwards. And multiple times after that. And whenever I get inside the building with these old, bare brick-stone walls and these beautiful heavy dark wooden tables with the incredible tasty setup on top I'm astonished. This then is topped by the service of the staff, the wines on the list and finally by the kitchen. What they produce in this kitchen is not to be described in words, this needs to be tasted in reality. If you want to spend a special moment in time with a very special person, this is the place for it!

Me & partner loved dining here tonight. Food was delicious and we left very satisfied. Beautiful atmosphere and staff were lovely. A great experience.

These people completely disregard the locals. I’m a local farmer and their fireworks without notice scare my deer into the fences killing them. Let alone my dog. I’ve lost three so far.

If you can accept the drive and that someone in your party probably can't drink because of that, this is a beautiful location. Very pleasant decor, and a really well priced degustation menu with wine matching. Will come back, and will probably take a look at the hotel there as well

Lovely space, Great access to vineyards and gardens. Meal was ok, 6/10. Food was not value for money.

Simply suburb meal. The restaurant is magnificent. Staff were brilliant. If god wanted a night out and a meal to remember, he’s book here. Well done team, such a fantastic night for the wife and I.

The Stables is such a beautiful venue, perfect for a romantic dinner. The service is friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating and attentive. The food was a 4 course degustation menu and was well thought out and perfect in size that we were fulfilled but not rolling out. Amazing fresh food with beautiful flavours and to look at. Wine was too notch too. Highly recommended for a beautiful dinner and romantic escape

A rustic venue that keeps it simple. The flavours were complex, yet the ingredients simple and locally sourced. We chose the 3 course Summer Lunch Menu. We had been there before a while ago for dinner and knew we were getting our money’s worth when we chose the menu. The quantities were just right! Not minimal wanting more and not too much that we had to skip desert. The staff were friendly, professional, courteous and wasn’t rushed. They knew the menu items in detail. They took time to explain the various dishes, kept the glasses full and remembered all our drink order to refills.

Choosing Stones for a special occasion will definitely not disappoint!

An opportunistic bunch over at The Stones. They'll promise you a booking at their hero restaurant "the Stables" only to thoroughly disappoint you when you arrive and be told that you'll be dining at their not so good restaurant "Meletos". All the worse when they make this type of mistake on your mothers 60th birthday. Funnily enough, friends experienced a similar problem last weekend! In the end, don't risk a special occasion on The Stones. Instead, try one of the many better places in the Yarra Valley that provide great food backed by great service.

Living with someone who has a very sensitive pallet makes going out for a meal very difficult. Often go home discussing how we could have had more, better and for less at home.
This was not the case at The Stables.
From the moment we turned off St Hubert’s Rd onto the avenue of Oak trees, we were somewhere else.
Venue was rustic, without being tacky. Staff were friendly and professional, without being overbearing.
Bree, our waitress did a marvellous job of making us feel welcome, introducing the dishes and contributing to a wonderful day.
I want to thank Nadia for recommending such a wonderful venue, understanding and identifying something perfect for our celebration.

Sensational service! Happy to provide vegan options. Great atmosphere. All in all a great place to have lunch and while away the hours.

I would not even rate this place 1 star. The service was abysmal. The food average at best. We had 6 people for the set menu, there was not enough food to go around. The manager Cameron is extremely rude. Do not go to this restaurant.
