The Spice Yard

Unfortunately got food poisoning here Christmas Eve, doc certain it was bacillus cereus bacteria which comes on quick and can caused by reheating rice. Disappointed by the response from the restaurant who just stated they couldn’t find our order and nobody else was sick. Shame as this was our go to Indian…. Oh well

Honestly, everything tasted really bland which was quite disappointing. The Butter chicken (which I realise isn’t the most interesting dish!) almost had no taste and the sauce was quite watery. Didn’t seem like there were any spices in it at all. The portion was also so small, and there were barely any pieces of chicken. The container was half filled too.

The samosas were TINY and could be eaten in two bites.

Just wow. Delicious food and great service. Malika was extremely friendly and she's very caring towards customers. The food was amazingly good. Best sizzler I have ever eaten in Melbourne. A must go for all the non-veg food lovers. The veg food was also impeccably tasty.

Recommend the Lamb, Goat, Mango Chicken, Cheese garlic nan.

Unfortunately, had a bad experience with the service on the 21/09/23.
The waitress who took my order got it wrong and denied it. I order 2 mango chicken and 1 goat for our curries. She brought us 3 mango and one goat, when I said to her I only ordered 2 mango chicken, she insisted I ordered 3, this went back and forth. In the end I just took it, annoyed, yes of course.
My Daughter said she’ll pay for two mango chickens and we will pay for the rest, we approached the same waitress, and my daughter clearly said, she’ll pay for two mango chickens, well she charged her for three, and said to my daughter you said three! Wifey looked at her and said, you’ve done it again, she said two and you’ve heard three! To which we just got a dumb look on her face. Not only that, but she also failed to repeat my order back to me which is what she should’ve done after taking my order. The food is great, we eat there regularly, this was a damper.

We absolutely loved everything we ordered, we had everything that was vegan and couldn’t pic a favourite as every item was outstanding. Malika was the waitress and excelled at her job as she went above and beyond.

I have ordered a takeaway meal from spice Yard. Curry was ordered mild but received as medium and taste was also not great. Moreover, roti and Naan were not fully baked.
I contacted spice yard, one of the staff was kind enough to replace roti and Naan but he handed over to me with flat face. No communication nothing. Not going back for sure.

I went many time there the chef food is amazing and I love the staff service they are very nice always happy to serve in any conditions. I have rogan josh paneer was delicious

We really enjoy the food here. Last night we got take away and it was great. There was a small problem with the order and they fixed it with a smile, delivering the correct item to our house ASAP. The Palak Paneer was the standout dish but all was really good.

Wow! Can't fault a thing. Everything was divine. We just moved to altona and I will be back very frequently. Divine food, great service and friendly staff!

The best Indian in Melbourne! Beautiful curry, perfect samosas with home made pastry and the chicken pakora was to die for. And to top it off perfect service amd hosts. Will be our regular for sure xxx

It was really good experience. Specially butter chicken and cheese garlic naan was really delicious. And staff was very friendly.

Went there for dinner last night the food and drinks both were incredible. Onion bhaji, penner tikka masala and fish amritsari were awesome. I appreciate chef for the garlic naan. For drinks mango lassi is must have. Staff were incredible overall we had good experience

Curries were so sweet pappadams wasn't fresh at all every curry dish on the table tasted the same sweet as vindaloo wasn't even spicy hot very unpleasant experience came home hungry never ever again

Chef Parmit have awesome taste in his hand grt ambiance nice and welcoming nature of all the staffs they know the meaning of hospitality awesome taste of mango lassi specially go for amrisarii fish and onion bhaaji you guyz will love to visit THE SPICE YARD thank you guys to make my evening ️

Literally could not have been more delicious, was ready so quickly, and such kind customer service. We had Beef Madras, Lamb Rogan Josh, and Aloo Prantha for reference. Thank you!:)

Amazing service food was very delicious. Staff is very friendly and nice. I went there 4to 5 time I love the food and service. Last week I have birthday party there my friends was very happy with the food and the service. Highly recommend ️

Cozy friendly restaurant near my house, we go very often to try different food. The crew is very kind, give nice recommendations and have a nice conversation. I'm specially into their desserts, like the paan kulfi and carrot halwi flavours:)

Gosh! Most pathetic Indian food I ever had. Ordered Saag Chicken but it came with red gravy? Not sure since when spinach became red.there was no taste of spinach anyway so my guess is they might have confused Saag chicken with just a chicken curry. There was no taste at all, Samosa had no salt, i could only taste oil, and aloo parantha I could only taste the raw flour, it's so disgusting food, I'll never ever order from this place.doesn't deserve any star but unfortunately that's the only way I could post my review!

Amazing! The best Indian food I’ve ever had! Service was friendly and relatively quick. Had the eggplant masala with roti and it was divine. No other Indian place I’ve been to can compare. Been here a couple other times and was always fantastic.

Tried this restaurant with three friends this week. Wow! What delicious food. Everything was cooked to perfection, hot and so fresh. I am a vegan, but all effort was made to explain which food was suitable for me. Plus the staff were so pleasant and helpful. Cannot wait to return and let my family try the food as well. Thank you)
