The Sphinx Hotel reviews
73Food was very good, a group of us had dinner in the small room when you you order your meal they ask what table number your on then, come with the meals and call out what they are?
Outstanding service from the amazing staff! Pippa and Julie were just excellent!
We had our young children with us, and they were so patient with the ordering process, even gave our little one a juice when he was crying. We'll definitely be back.
Thank you so much!
Attended Westy’s Wake which was held in the Sphinx Luxor Showroom which was the perfect venue for some of Geelongs music legends who came together to remember their mate and fellow muso.
The event was supported by Wilber Wilde and other great local music talent.
This used to be a respectable motel. Not any longer. The room I stayed in was filthy. The kettle and fridge were covered in an unknown, sticky brown substance. Management didn't seem overly concerned. Ray would never have let things get this bad. It's the end of an era for the Sphinx. Avoid at all costs, there are plenty of options in Geelong.
The meal itself was quite nice, everything was cooked with care. However the prices of the food did not match the quality of the food, as food was average at best. The bistro itself was stunning, the decorations were something to enjoy, I felt very comfortable where my group was seated, for this I commend them. A nice simple place to hang with friends if you mind spending a bit.
You can always enjoy yourself when you come here due to there being great service by the staff and excellent food and drinks, you can’t go wrong with coming here!
Ethnic waitress was the rudest person I’ve ever met in my life, she has a bad attitude and loves to show how much she hates her job. Food was great but just because of her, 1/5.
I love the sphinx hotel, stunning accommodation, reasonable prices and the staff are always friendly and willing to assist with all your needs,
U could done a little more better in cooking the it was so tuff an over cook an hard to chew on but rest off the meal was ok when serving a meal at a entertainment show very poor on security they should done Little more better job around kevin bloody Wilson show over price in tickets an meal when U get over cook meat to chew on
Went to listen to country music and had a great time there with a good selection of drinks after our lunch
Room was average size. Huge tv and great shower. Clean, tidy and comfortable. Staff were super friendly and welcoming
This place has an impressive theme, with good waitress service,
But the food is not that great, needs to improve. Corn chicken soup not that good, roast beef boiled not roasted and desert tastes few days old. The place smells musty needs fresh air circulated. I will come back in a year hoping you make the improvement.
Not impressed with the room. No hair-dryer provided. Shampoo consisted of one small sachet. Bed was like a rock and towels provided were small and thin in quality. Def not the place to stay in an emergency. Don't recommend.
I loved this place. Staff were so professional and the food was marvellous. Especially loved the theme which was very nice.
At the first day to The Sphinx Hotel, I notice the room was clean, and the people worked at the hotel very welcoming.so far I'm happy at the Hotel.
Great food very unique place to dine. Great sports bar, bistro, gaming, good range of beer on tap, massive sports screen.
The Sphinx Hotel delivers great, enjoyable meals. The prices are good. Monday and Tuesday night the meals start from $12.00 and meals are of great quality.
Okay, it looks tacky, and doesn’t have a huge range of beers on tap, but the Egyptian theme, right down to the huge Sphinx sitting on top of the place is pretty cool.
Great venue, lovely atmosphere and food. Got caught ordering food behind a really large party so our food took a while to arrive.
A great place to go on a "specialty night": steak night, schnitzel night, etc, for some very reasonably priced, good quality bistro food. The decor is strongly Egyptian, as the name suggests, which adds a distinct talking point and character to the place. The staff are friendly. The food service quick. All-in-all, good value for money and quite novel.
