I would have to say my experience at The Benev, would have to be the best Spa Treatment that I have ever had! I have had Spa Treatments local, in major cities and overseas……. The Benev experience far outshone any of them!
The ambience of the environment, the decor, the products, the professional service from my therapist, the treatments offered, the little extras before and after treatment……. WOW! 10/10. Thank you so much. Lee Brady

The most amazing calming space, where you can relax & experience a totally de-stressing, invigorating and comforting treatment. The staff here are totally top knotch, from treatment to retail service, the best!

Good place, recommended. Massage wonderful my only minor issue I asked the therapist not to massage my head which wasn’t followed and left with excessive amount of oil in my hair. Besides that, the space and body massage was lovely.

Had the Long Exhale treatment as a birthday present. Spent nearly 4.5 hours at the Benev and felt absolutely spoilt, pampered and nourished, body and soul. Had a lovely lunch in the Pantry (warm greens salad with poached egg) and then the treatment with Kimberley who did an amazing job. She was very experienced and skilled, kind and understanding. Highly recommend!

Such a wonderful experience! Best massage I’ve ever had (and I had a fair bit!). The therapists are lovely and experienced, the facilities are beautiful and immaculate, the food is lovely and the treatments are spot on. I’m already looking forward to going back.

We’re local residents and we have been very keen to try this facility.

My wife booked me a massage and treatment as a birthday gift and the appointment was originally scheduled for 11.30am on a Sat.

We received an email on the Thursday beforehand regarding an appointment change to 2.30pm.

“New message from The Spa Beechworth

HI Just hoping to move Johns appointment to 2.30pm saturday, we are short staffed at the moment so needing to do some shuffling around. Thanks Renee”

I turned up at the readjusted time to be met by the owner, Deb. She bluntly informed me I had missed my appointment at 11.30 and denied that any notification had ever been sent to us regarding a reschedule.

Even after showing the email, Deb didn’t seem open to the possibility that any error on their part might have occurred. She seemed more concerned about getting us out the door in case her existing clients heard the discussion.

Turns out a contributing factor in this issue was that the contact number the spa had down for us was incorrect- admittedly an error on our part Seems they had been trying since Thursday to reach us on the wrong number.

However, they always had our email and could have contacted us via email at any point when their phone messages to us did not get a response.

The issue here is not the mix up in the booking. Anyone running a business understands that happens occasionally and can be resolved easily and politely.

The issue is the haughty ‘no fault’ attitude from the owner when trying to discuss the possibility that they may have been partly to blame for the mix up in the first place and that they could have emailed us at any time to resolve this.

We were asked to leave the premises- because the discussion relating to this mix up was being heard by existing customers. We were talking at normal volume- but the spa has no sound proofing and voices clearly carry.

When we suggested the spa take some responsibility for the mix up we were abruptly ordered to leave and told we were ‘not the type of customers we want here’. Pretty rude.

So a few lessons learned here.

Firstly, the spa needs a reception area where customers can discuss issues without having to whisper in case clients hear them.

They also need to follow up their requested appointment changes via email if they can’t reach the customer by phone.

Finally they need a course in customer relations. At no point were they prepared to even discuss the possibility that they may have been at fault or accept part of the responsibility.

We got a refund- but would have preferred a quality local service that we could recommend to freinds and enjoy on a regular basis.

Fantastic spa experience, definitely within my top 3 spa experiences ever. The setting is immaculate, staff very professional. Total relaxation in the entry lounge and then again upon exit of your treatment room you are given tea (which was so good I purchased upon leaving), water and nuts. I sat in this beautiful room for approx 30 mins after my treatment lapping up the serenity. Highly recommend. Could not fault.

The most incredible and relaxing experience. Professional, immaculate, sparkling clean, serene and first class customer service. Today was the first time I have experienced 'The Spa' in Beechworth and it did not disappoint. The facility was incredible, along with the staff, the 'bush 'treatment I received and platter that followed. It was well worth the drive! Thank you to Lilly for an amazing treatment and to Deb and her team.

Lovely fusion of tranquility and indulgence. Gorgeous ambience.
There was some toing and froing with appointment times which complicated things but it turned out ok in the end.

I booked my makeup, along with my Mum's and mother-in-law's for my wedding. This was booked months in advance. Over this time The Spa changed the times of our makeup 3 times, including only a week out. This added unnecessary stress to wedding planning. They also cancelled my makeup on the morning of my wedding reception (we had our wedding and reception on two different days). Lisa did a great job on all of our makeup but the management seems only to care about money, not about customer experience. I received no apologies for all their stuff-ups. Infact they kept saying I hadn't paid when I had paid months in advance. I had to find the receipt in order that they would give me a refund.

Sadly not worth the expense. I gave a gift card to a family member and at $250 I expected they'd get their moneys worth as that is far more expensive than any other spa I know charges. From an awkward beginning with no real waiting area, to being left in the freezing change rooms for 10 minutes, getting little guidance around the facial then no where to freshen up afterwards. I go to a Melbourne facialist and they take the time and effort to analyse my skin, provide feed back, look at my skin care regime, explain the entire treatment process and genuinely seem to care.and they provide a freshen up area so you can get back to your day. Unfortunately like some one else said, this place seems more about the money and the one-off clientele.

I have been attending the spa on and off for 7 or so years. The staff are always incredibly accommodating, professional and lovely to deal with. The focus is really on wellbeing and restoring peace and calm, particularly to those with busy lives and provides a chance to breathe easy for a while. I have already recommended the spa to several friends who adore it also!

Helpful friendly staff and such a beautiful location. I went here unsure of what I wanted and the lovely staff helped me workout which package to go for and gave me the best experience. I left feeling very relaxed and refreshed, I will definitely be back for more pampering in the future.
