Nice place
But my Fish souvlaki was tasteless and the Grilled fish was not seasoned soggy and 100% flavourless.
Sorry the food has to have flavour specially the souvlaki.

This place never disappoints, amazing chips and flake, and the pineapple fritters are to die for.they really don’t do anything poorly.

I ordered an uber tonight and they even threw in an extra flake, thank you everyone at the slippery mackerel!

Awful. Terrible customer service.
Maybe the “manager” needs to consider a career change? Or just change their attitude.

At what point does it become no longer worth the wait? Ordered a few times online, and the time they tell you the order will be ready is NEVER close to the actual time it's ready. I WILL NEVER be back.

The food has gotten so disappointing, something is always missing or wrong with the order, no apologies, no compensation. Chucking in an extra potato cake doesn't gloss over how average this place has become.

Past few orders we have placed online. We have had items missed and have called and only get an apology over the phone. Today placed an order online, paid online and made us pay again at the store. System they have in place is not working

Generally good most of the time. Generous servings. Our last visit though we had undercooked scallops that we had to throw away but everything else was great.

Absolutely delicious fish and chips. The price is really really good. Been here a thousand times before and will happily go a thousand times again. You absolutely have to go here if you haven’t been before!

It would have to be large popcorn chicken with a corn jack and 600ml cokecola.
This place rocks, great staff great food.

Foods amazing and I’m never disappointed, but I’m always waiting 15-20 minutes later than the time I’m told it will be ready which is quite annoying and most recently my small chips and gravy went to a mini chips and gravy

Had the best chips ever yesterday from slippery mackerel, all out guests agreed edthey were a standout. Only getting chips from here now as majority geelong / surfcoast area fish n chips are poxy rubbish compared to these:)

Slippery Mackerel is always a great time. Whenever I feel like fish and chips, they're the second place I think of after Chips on Sepo. The staff are friendly, the food is tasty, and you will sometimes get an extra prawn, scallop, or heaping of chips with your order, just because the customers matter more than additional profits.

No stars now, just got home with what l thought was a small chips & gravy, stuff all chips & stuff all gravy, wont be back again.lm local too.

Once again a beautiful seafood mean when we coulldnt be bothered cooking after a busy day at work. The fish was amazing and once again we received more than we ordered. Nothing tastes better than a couple of free potatoe cakes!

Their flake, chips, & potato cakes are amazing, cannot be improved on. The batter they use comes out super crunchy and light + the chips are always crunchy & they're usually generous. Easy 5 stars for these items. I've tried the popcorn chicken, chicken souvlaki + schnitzel burger. They're fairly good - maybe 3 - 3.5 stars for these items. Overall, a tad pricier then other F&C shops but the store itself + customer service is top notch. Very decent especially if you just keep it simple.

Amazing customer service, and hands down the best fish and chips in Geelong. Coming over from the Mornington Peninsula I was disappointed by the lack of a decent fish and chip shops until I found the slippery mackerel which blew my expectations out of the water

Usually the fish and chips here are great, however last night 4 of us ate their fish and 3 of us was quite ill during the night. My daughter and her partner vomited, whilst I tossed and turned all night with stomach ache. I went back today to let them know, spoke to manager, who thanked me for letting her know and blamed the supplier. There was no offer of a refund or at least credit for food we had paid for which made us sick. I gave her ample opportunity by expanding on the consequences we had all suffered. I would never eat from there again. A kind offer of compensation would have indicated genuine concern and apology.

Have visited a couple of times but found quality and consistency vary a lot.
Seafood is of a high standard but other fish and chip shop staples can be on the average side.
Was recommended to attend for fish and chips but have found it lacking appeal to return on both visits believe there are better fish and chips on offer at other stores.
Staff are very friendly
