The Sebel Melbourne Malvern reviews
29Great idea to stay here for one night it was awesome! My daughter was very scared to use the lifts but then a worker gave her a tessh which was awesome they are kind rooms have a butiful view would definitely stay here again!:)
Great stay at Sebel, Malvern. Fantastic view from our room - and such a good location. Thanks to Manya for making our stay so pleasant. Will be back!
After a 4 night stay across two rooms, I have only positive things say.
The rooms were really comfortable and very well set up for everything we needed to do. Comfy beds, bathrobes. A kitchen that was well set up to use, The washing machines, well located power and desks for working.
And the reception staff were fantastic. I needed their help several times, from printing a document, to a room change, parking etc etc. They were always 100% helpful and made things easy.
Finally the views from the 13th floor. The first room had lovely views from the balcony. The second room had Amazing floor to ceiling windows with a great view from the bay to the city. I loved lying in bed watching the city lights, and even took a time-lapse video.
I don't usually write gushing reviews, but this place deserved it
Receptionist Manya was brilliant in helping myself and my elderly Mother. Nothing was too hard, brilliant service.
Great stay about 20 min out of the city. We had a clean 2 bedder with the balcony facing the courtyard at the back, quiet. Air conditioning is only available in the living room so if you want heating/cooling in the rooms, you need to leave the room doors ajar.
Had the spa and sauna all to ourselves. Parking was limited, we had to park on the street a few minutes walk away due to this. There was a strange man lurking in the corner of the carpark anyway, seems like a regular resident as we saw him there all day.
Pranav at the reception was so helpful especially helping me do this review.
Manager came out and talked. We said we stayed regularly at this hotel. She said that they will look after us in the future.
Been staying here for years. Great place to stay.
ALL staff are excellent!
Easy to find and facilities excellent Surrounded by lots of diverse eateries and public transport.
By far the worst Accor hotel I stayed in! As an Accor gold member, I stayed in numerous Accor hotels all around Australia and in the world. I cannot fathom how this place is called a Sebel! I booked months in advance, correspondence was shockingly poor in customer service, they practically misinformed me about what an accor gold membership benefits entail, didn’t offer or honour early check in, late check out and welcome drink. Didn’t want to offer a room upgrade but they did in the end however the room is fairly basic, wasn’t clean enough and lacked most basic utilities. The internet was slow and kept dropping off. Reception generally was unhelpful and unfriendly. Parking situation was a mess. Corridor had a terrible stench. It was rather difficult to get the rooms cleaned. I wouldn’t stay here again and wouldn’t recommend this so called hotel to anyone. Wouldn’t surprised me if Accor cleans out the entire workforce to replace them and rebrands it or just sell it to another provider. Stay away!
I Stayed at Sebel Malvern, very enjoyable experience, room super clean bed very comfy service at check was absolutely fantastic by Simon, very helpful able to check in early, great parking underneath, easy to get public transport into city.
Would highly recommend, look forward to staying there again,
Thank you so much Simon and staff.
Terrible experience!
Very disappointed and not staying in Sebel Malvern at Melbourne Australia again in the future
BE Aware of poor customer service, false
promise during booking.
Allocated rooms were not as per booking and price had very dirty windows, no aircon vents in the bedrooms.
When complained Rooms allocated on 5th floor instead 14th floor as promised by booking staff.
We had to keep small window open at night due to suffocating feelings thus it affected our sleep by traffic noise.
Sebel apartments at Malvern, Melbourne was not 4 star standard as we experienced
1. Allocated us in wrong rooms, paid for 2 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. But got 2 bedrooms with 1 bathrooms. We were 8 adults. Booked 2 apartments.
Have to complain to get our rooms which we paid for. But still it was in 5 th floor, when we booked, the staff said it will be 14 th floor.
2. No Air conditioner vent inside bedrooms, it’s suffocating noisy apartment.
3. Bedrooms are so tiny that you have to walk sideways to get into the bed.
4. Kitchen has the lowest quality utensils and tiny dinner plates I have seen in a furnished apartment.
5. Total disappointing
6. Will never book in future.
I will not recommend anyone to stay in this hotel apartment. Sebel is a good brand name in hospitality industry, however this particular Sebel in Malvern is a total disappointment. They failed to allocate us the hotel apartment as per our pre-booking. They hugely lack professionalism and friendliness in their services. Moreover, dirty windows of the apartment, smelly rooms, absence of air conditioning vent in bedrooms, shortage of furniture, cloth rack, hangers and utensils made our stay unpleasant. It is not at all worth of money. Hope the management will improve their services for their customers.
Stayed here for a week from 1 jan - 8 jan 2023. Apartment was not clean. Some little debris on the second bedroom's carpet. Windoows Blinds in the dinning room and master bedroom were collapsed. I reported this to the reception and she was aware of it since the first time we checked in and offered to change to a different apartment. However, we already unpacked our belonging so we just stayed there with no windows blind. So disappointing. If the reception knew that there was no windows blind 601 why did she give us that room at the first place? And also cleaning was only avail upon booking but when we booked the cleaning on the day we wanted it (before 9 am), the receptionist said that there was no more cleaning slot for our rooms. Very disappointing. Will never return nor recommend sebel anymore to anyone.
What Apartment doesn't have a set of drawers to put ones clothes in, or better still provide its guests with just "One" coat hanger within the bedroom wardrobe. The overall apartment was dusty, in need of a thorough carpet clean in the bedroom. The windows & balcony sliding door were in need of a window clean. The lounge room couch was well worn & could probability be better off being replaced, there were few handy or conveniently located power outlets I found 2 hidden behind the couch wall. The small ironing board should be a regular sized one, water leaked out of the glass door gap onto the bathroom floor which by the poor design of the bathroom did not drain down the floor drain instead water pooled around the bathroom door entrance. The balcony door latch got stuck on more than one occasion which made it difficult to open. No regular blinds just sunshade blinds. I have no idea why this place has a 4.5 star rating since it's a running joke that the Spa & Sauna are never in service or available.
Rooms are nice and gentleman who checked us in was very friendly while there is a fantastic gym. Unfortunately the road noise is very loud and they don't even have decent curtains to block out the morning light. Could only recommend if you are able to sleep in a bright and loud room.
Me and my family absolutely loved this hotel. We were visiting Melbourne for 4 days and we stayed at this hotel and it was absolutely amazing! Super amazing service and the room was very nice with a stunning view. House keeping was very good although they could have done a better job at cleaning the kitchen area but it was still super clean and nice. The hotel is close to lots of shops so it is very convenient. The spa and sauna is very nice and you should definitely check it out, the outdoor area has lots of seating areas and a barbecue which is very convenient. Overall a great hotel and the next time I visit melbourne I will 110% be staying here again.
Room was nice, view great but it's right next to a main road, railway and tram line. Couldn't sleep because of the noise, mostly from the road, but also the bathroom fans and air con were very noisy. So overall a terrible night's stay unfortunately.
Clean apartment with decent views in a really good location. I'll come back here again as the price is so reasonable.
The views are amazing. They have great space.
The hallway in level 8 did not smell nice at all.
Staff are also nice.
Great place nice and clean 1 bedroom apart. Nice room comfortable beds. Will definitely stay again if in the area
