The Searchers Records reviews
26An outstanding record store with high-quality second-hand treasures. You can find LPs like this amazing Otis Redding 1968 Japanese pressing on a daily basis at the Searchers Records. I would also like to thank the staff with the best customer service ever. Cheers!
Was trying to source a particular vinyl for a few years, but had some trouble finding it in Australia. Was so pleased to find it stocked here! Arrived quickly with no issues. Looks like they have a great collection of some rarer artists. Will be sure to pop in store when I’m in the city next. Thanks guys!
Without question the best priced records in Melbourne. Range is great. I just hope they stay well priced forever!
Great store, picked up a record I had just about given up looking for, plenty of rarities on the wall. Recommended.
Great selection and the owner is easy going and very helpful. Probably the best record shop north of the river!
Easily one of the best Vinyl dealers in Melbourne.any trip to Smith St Fitzroy is not complete without a good rummage through the many racks of wax.
Probably the best record store in Melbourne in terms of prices. The hip hop collection varies from ice cube to j.cole and they had a lot of wu tang, Big, and Jay z in stock. The average price for a hip hop album here is about $50 the cheapest and best in Melbourne.
Really amazing record store with very good collection of stuff I haven’t been able to find anywhere and lovely staff, super cruisy and helpful - playing some cool stuff when my friend and I were in there I ended up buying a very high fidelity beta band experience
Really great selection at reasonable enough prices. Lots of NM/VG+ Japanese pressings that are hard to run into outside of Japan. Strongly recommend if you are visiting from out of town or overseas.
This record shop is probably the best in melbourne.on an interstate vacation i was eager to shop around and bring home some records but found that most shops only sell brand new sealed vinyl, as an avid second hand/first pressing collector, this disappointed me.after looking inside roughly 4 record shops in the main melbourne area i finally found this one.i spent about $500 in this shop and could of easily spent more.sort after first pressing and other limited editions at very affordable prices.ended up leaving with 8 records.guy in the shops also helped show me some new stuff i may be interested.was a great store, definitely worth the visit.
I don't mind this record store. It has a decent selection. Prices range from decent to expensive.
Been going here for years, and never walk away empty handed. Good selection of used and new records with well stocked jazz, prog and Krautrock sections. Always worth a visit.
As far as my (metal) tastes go, this is the only record story in Collingwood/Fitzroy worth visiting.
This shop has potential but I found it quite dirty and disorganised compared the others in the inner Melbourne area. The vinyl singles at the back of the store are arranged by price not era or genre which makes looking for something tiring and time consuming.
Hands down best record store in the area. Great selection and staff always on the money with recommendations
Super cute vibe in the store and the person who runs it is super friendly and helpful! The range of new/used records is great too <3
We found some amazing death/black metal, hardcore, hip hop, dance, industrial, Japanese and synth records. If you're a crate digger into these genres, you won't leave this place disappointed!
Went in here looking for Xmas gifts. Didn't bhave what I was looking for exactly but did have an awesome range of interesting records and the guy at the counter was very helpful.
Always stop in here multiple times when I can. Good selection across genres, decent prices for rarities, friendly staff and they play good stuff in store. I've picked up several things based on hearing it spin.
The records themselves were in fine condition but the employee was incredibly dismissive and rude. He had no respect for customers who did not have the same music tastes as he did and disregarded their questions. This did not only happen to me, but also to the other customers he served before me. Why is he working in a record shop when he is disinterested and unmotivated?
