I’m absolutely appalled with the attitude from the Salvos in relation to the furniture pickup service. I had a perfectly good lounge suite that someone would appreciate. The drivers refused to take it and started to make up all sorts of rubbish about the state of the furniture. I was close to telling them where to go. There is no way I’ll ever donate items to your stores again. Your organisation is a disgrace.

Thankfully a very appreciative person has since picked up the furniture, otherwise it would've ended up in landfill.

I had a complaint about someone not getting back to me after making 6 calls over a few week period, query about myself and my kid wanting to donate some brand new cloths to all the residents at a North Melbourne refuge centre and the headquarters a week later didn't return my call so I had to call back again. Good one.
The second time around I was put thru to a different building, not sure why as they have well over 300 paid people working there.bye.

Contacted Salvos Head Office on several occasions regarding 1-2 (that are known) PAID staff (NOT volunteers or Work for the Dole) at one of their op shops (near Ipswich - but NOT the Ipswich store) helping themselves (and their family) to the good stuff and breaking several store polices. The store involved knows about the issues (reported by several people) but has not acted. Although I received the confirmation email telling me that my email/s had been received I NEVER received a response other than that. I cannot think of another organisation that would ignore something like this. A shame considering it means less funds being raised and therefore less money going to help the community. Maybe there are issues at Head Office that need looking into as well!

The staff were very lovely and helpful. The items they sold were very limited. I found it disappointing that the books they have in stock; were only about personalities of TSA and there was nothing about, Christian Faith, basic Christian principles, (eg: evangelism, hope, love, Jesus's life, miracles or spiritual warfare just to name few). Even The Word of God, in fact they didn't even have a BIBLE in stock what kind of "christian store' doesn't give away or sell BIBLES! SERIOUSLY? This gives me pause to reconsider exactly what the motives are of The Salvation Army in 2020.

This is my workplace Mondays to Fridays. It is the head office of The Salvation Army. It is an open plan office with internal cafe for light snacks.
