Can’t comment on the organisation or what’s inside the building, but from the outside it presents as a classically styled 19th century building. Located a short walk from Melbourne’s CBD and on the way to the Exhibition Centre in Fitzroy Gardens. Best part is the chunk of granite from the South Pole sitting out the front.

Beautiful historic building that is still hosting its original occupant, the Royal Society of Victoria, and still a focus for the advancement of science in the State

Very unfair people, they say something on the form but they define rules in a different. Very inconsiderate and harsh people.
Update: Oh yeah, how about making the rules clear.

Lovely old building and noble underappreciated society that does great work. I will be supporting it more in the future

Went to the bimonthly Wine Seek wine tasting held at the RSV. Lovely space and central location.

A PIECE OF VICTORIA'S HISTORY PRESERVED
Beautiful old Royal Historical Society building. Great that it hasn't been crowded in by newer buildings.
Still very much an "active" building with lots of Historical Society events.

Take your kids here to see the rock from Antarctica. I mean, it's just a rock, but the sign explains that is comes all the way from Antarctica. Kids need to see that stuff.

A beautiful old building containing some wonderful history of discovery and exploration in Victoria and Australia.
