The Rocks Mornington reviews
69Breathtaking view especially on a good weather day, enjoying our lunch with open space with sufficient cover outdoors. Highly recommend their oyster and grilled kings prawn! Seafood’s fresh, but the seasoning can be a bit questionable for some dishes. Do not recommend Tuna sashimi.
The food here was absolutely amazing! This was the first time here for me and I will definitely be going back. Highly recommend the kingfish sashimi!
Michael was an excellent host. Service was great and accommodating with our family + children. There was an amazing view and delicious food. What more could you want.
What a fantastic night my husband an i had. Impeccable service. Hubby n i had the chef choice of seafood platters. At 99 a head it is worth every last penny. It was so fast an quality of flavour an well cooked food was next level. Would recommend to anyone an everyone. We sat on the heated balcony in the middle of winter an we where so warm. Check it out. The atmosphere is cozy an inviting. A must get too. We will b back.
I have been to many restaurants with a sea view but not only is the view as good as anywhere in the world but every time I’ve been to The Rocks the service and the food has been above exceptional! I cant recommend this amazing place highly enough!
Really great spot and amazing staff. The service was excellent and the food was very good. Pricing on the higher end, but no more than you would expect. I'd recommend dining at The Rocks, and we'll likely be back in the future.
My carer and I went here today. The waitress was so rude saying the kitchen is closed. We said we only want a coffee the rude waitress said what do you want rudely looked at me as if I had Leprosy or something because I am on a walker. When we complained to mgt they said the waitress is Columbian and comes over abruptly! Disgraceful service, obviously we didn't stay there. Regardless of your race if you can't be polite then don't work in hospitality!
Superb, top notch fresh sashimi, char-grilled sardines, creamy grilled whole flathead fish with the grand finale to finish off the meal with a spectacular hot lava chocolate drenched over two profiteroles and the best tiramisu in Melbourne!
This is a beautiful restaurant with amazing surroundings. My advice to anyone wanting to visit this establishment is to definately book your visit in advance. My wife and I visited here for the first time yesterday after a long drive to the area only to be greeted very rudely and told to leave due to the fact we hadn't booked a table. I understand their reason but it could have been said and dealt with in a much nice manner. Unfortunately I do not feel like returning after that encounter.
Amazing food and views from the outdoor seating area. Excellent friendly service. Will be back!
I didn’t find the service very warm from some of the staff. Had to call someone over to get our order taken. Food was really enjoyable though. Not the cheapest but was a nice treat.
Eclectic fare on the pricier side.it's located in a great spot.it did get quite busy on Saturday night, so i'd recommend this place if you're not in a rush.the service was good & they all worked hard.our waiter managed to memorise our entire food order, i was pretty impressed!
the dishes were very appealing & delicious! We ordered a bunch of small plates to share with the table & found that it worked well & allowed us to try a little bit of everything.
Amazing food! Lovely crew! Wonderful view! What more could you want. Highly recommend. We had the crab slider, oysters, chicken Bao, chips (for the kids), Gyoza and some delicious beers yum!
An unmatched experience on the bay, this restaurant is something special on the Mornington Peninsula, the food and service youll receive when dining at this amazing place is 10/10.
Had a lovely dinner at the rocks. You pay a little extra for the great views but the food and atmosphere is great. A good place for a date night
"It's okay, nice view, expensive. Food was presented well but kinda a lacked depth"
(was my review a year & half ago 2018, 'was')
Fast forward to tonight. Food was tops. Loved the portions cause I could try more. Raw menu is exciting. Able to try 5-6 dishes and liked the ability to have the same quality throughout the variety of cuisine.
Intended to take photos of food but after It arrived was to to keen. Heres some drinks.bbs (2020 this review)
We're back at the rocks and baby did it do well. It's even better again! I wish I could leave a time line of reviews but it's improved even more and the menu items are awesome. Had some great stuff this time and got photos will be back very soon to try more. Seafood and veggie items (Crissy time 2021)
This is $25 worth. (If you can see the photo)
It took 4-5 times just to communicate:
1 x fish n chips (as you can see, 1/2 a fish)
2 x potato cakes
I asked for battered fish.
Then they charged a fee on the tap n go!
Greedy, get it together. If my child wasn’t so sick with cancer, I’d of gone back for:
A) the $25 worth
B) a refund
Had a lovely seafood platter for lunch. I'm not usually a fan of clams as they are usually chewy and lack flavour but these were the best I've had by far, thoroughly enjoyed them. All the seafood was so fresh and meaty, best I've had in a long time. Had the pink lady cocktail/rocktail and really enjoyed that as well. Didn't want to leave!
Beautiful outlook, great seafood, broccoli salad, chips and the highlight was the Lamington desert to finish. The mocktails needed more punch but overall we love this restaurant.
The small plates where amazing soft shell crab bugers, kingfish, chicken on bao buns.but the mains fish and chips was very basic and extremely underwhelming after the entrees been so perfect
