The Red Stag Deer and Emu Farm reviews
26We were quite disappointed on our visit. We arrived just after 3pm and we shown to a table by a not too friendly young waiter. We perused the menus and when the young chap came back to get our drink order, he informed us that the kitchen was closed and all they could offer us was scones. Why didn't you tell us this before you seated us? We ordered the the scones as we had been travelling and had not eaten. They were also disappointing and we were not given knives to cut them with so had to pull them apart. We were not asked if we wanted tea or coffee to accompany the scones, such as they were.we found the staff dismissive, unfriendly and quite rude. Not sure we would visit again. Nice view though. The animals were friendly!
Delicious food & we got to feed deers and emus it was lovely although it smelt like poo
Wonderful place in the middle of nowhere. This gem is surrounded by magnificent rolling green mountains views. Enjoying a cup of coffee on their terrace with breathtaking views was simply an experience out of the world. They also sell feed packets to feed the animals. Its not too far from the Melbourne to Bright highway.
Great place to take the family, loved the food and the kids enjoyed feeding the deer, emus and goats.
Kids love this place so much!
Even I enjoyed too.
Feeding is just $10, reasonable price.
Been coming here since I was a kid but now that I’m adult coming back I have some things I would like to say. The place looks amazing, gift shop has some cool items but hefty price on some. Food was expensive but poor quality. Venison meat pie was very soft and crazy hot on the inside so you could tell they just stuck it in a microwave, frozen vegetables with gravy and mash potatoes for $33. Needs more experienced staff and a better chef in the kitchen because the price on the menu set a expectation of high quality food but the food looks like a microwave meal and tasted about the same.
Now listen up everyone. This place is a must for all ages. Such a vibe in the high country. Nothing like having food overlooking the Alpines and watching the stags roam the fields. Pay extra $5.00 to feed the stags, emus, ostriches, and chooks
Beautiful scenery and lots to do, great place for kids and adults to visit! Would highly recommend and plan to be back next time we are in the area.
Love this place for lunch, the scones are amazing.
You can feed the deer, goats, emu's.
Great experience at The Red Stag Deer and Emu Farm, you can feed the animals and take photos and videos, it’s great fun
We visited with our daughter, husband & 2 grandchildren (age 5 & 8). We were warned that the stags could be a bit pushy, but everyone enjoyed feeding the deers, emus, goats, even a couple of ostriches. There's a tough mini golf course which everyone enjoyed playing. There's also a lovely restaurant with great views (we didn't eat there but we did get coffee, which was very good)
Very beautiful area to stop, family friendly, clean facilities, friendly staff.
We did the farm tour for $30pp. Be ready for a steep ride in a Polaris UTV. Introduction was great learning about the farm and breeding. About 5 mins of feeding out the windows until pellets were finished. Unfortunately on the return drive, like other reviews have mentioned, Rob shared his personal views on a number of matters. We personally don't take offence, but can see how others may feel a bit uncomfortable. Did learn about the emu and what an amazing animal it is.
Feeding animals through the fence was fun too - beware of the pushy ones!
This is a regular haunt every time I visit Bright. The food is great and the views are to die for. A tour of the farm and minigolf makes this a fun experience overall
I’ve visited this place in 2018 and again in 2022 and have loved it both times. The views are amazing and the staff are so friendly and accomodating. The scones are 10/10 can’t wait to visit again
Had a beautiful time here, had a bit of adventure with a drive around the farm $30 each but it was so much fun, get up close and personal with the stags
Thought this would be a fun day out for the littles but was horrified to see the Goats, Sheep & Emus penned with the aggressive stags. The goats would come to the fence for a feed, get their horns stuck in the fencing while the stags rammed them with their antlers.
There was one large goat lying in the pasture and when we realised it probably wasn't sleeping, we notified the owners.
The goat made some distressing noises as we were told that that's the sound they make just before they die and that the goat had been speared by the stag. Not something our toddlers wanted to witness!
Beautiful location.
Awesome ambience.
Deliciously yummylicious food.
Courteous & knowledgeable staff.
Farm animals kept the kids happily engaged.
Scenic photography.
Family & friends MUST visit.
+ + +.
Always worth a visit, great for the children to catch up with the wildlife. Top restaurant in the north east.
It was a good experience. Its nice to just go out and see some animals roaming around. Plus you can feed them
Great for kids. Can get a bucket of feed to feed the animals. Even if you've got a baby, they still enjoy watching the animals.
All the staff were helpful and accommodating.
The food was delicious and the dining area has big glass windows that look out onto the mountains. Spectacular.
