The Railway Hotel- Windsor

The mussels dish I had at The Railway Hotel - Windsor was one of the best pub meals I've ever had. The special of the night was 1kg of mussels cooked in a beautiful white wine sauce with frites. The mussels were fresh, and the bread dipped into the sauce made an amazing accompaniment. Highly recommend this place!

We wandered in off Chapel on Sunday and god we're glad we did. Not only was the service super friendly and speedy everything from the margaritas to the food was delicious. While all the food was good the chicken tenders were a standout (super juicy) and the charred broccoli sealed the deal.we'll be back for more. The dual outdoor space and overall vibes make this place the perfect spot for a late-afternoon lunch and drink with friends. If I knew it was going to be so good I would of taken more photos pre-bite.sorry!

Everything about food was excellent here, portion size and quality and the taste. The steak cooked to perfection too that’s a plus point for me! Staff were really attentive and friendly. Real gem in the area. Definitely will be back!

There was a an indoor and outdoor area.
The inside dining, is a combination of sports bar and pub. Good service, food and drinks menu were bought to the table quickly. Prices were quite reasonable.
Parma $29 (sides extra), but came with generous serving of coleslaw
250g porter $39 w/ chops & salad.
The gas imitation wood fire was pumping and on a chilly Melbourne night was wonderful.
I would happily come back

The food here is EXCELLENT! I was excited to see they had mussels and fries on the menu and they were probably the best I had ever had. All the other food looked good too. The entrance is a little hidden away and the decor is quite generic and functional (although the Heat & Glo fireplace is a nice touch in winter), but the location is great and the food makes it the perfect venue before or after anything at the south end of Chapel. Check it out!

The warm and cosy fire is great on a cold grey day. Caught up with friends for Sunday lunch. The venue is comfy and the staff were wonderful. It wasn’t busy so we were looked after very well. Food is reasonably priced pub fare. Downsides of this visit were the fish and chips and bolognese pasta… the fish was well overdone. Burnt batter and dried out in parts and the bolognese was dry. Pumpkin gnocchi was lite and tasty, and and the chicken parma went down a treat. Side salad were simple but nice and crisp. Overall a nice Sunday afternoon catch up.

I can't remember the last time I had a burger this good! Top that with a variety of Moon Dog Seltzer and the best staff. Chefs kiss.
This burger has to come with a warning label though it's juicy af.and maybe don't wear white haha

Asked to leave fairly early on a Friday night despite having a large group. Otherwise, no issues. Good food and great selection of drinks.

Lovely fitted out room, friendly efficient staff and great food. I organised our school reunion there a few years ago and I can’t fault them. 10/10.

Very close to Windsor station. The food was surprisingly good. Service was up to par. Nice place for social gathering.

The fact that it’s open 24/7 is the major factor why I rate this business in high regard & paying the surcharge for that extended service seems right & totally justified, considering what the brilliant staff have to deal with in the wee small hours.like wise to the security staff.well done one. Great place for an afternoon or evening cocktail or a great bite to eat. Mixed crowd and chilled atmosphere with great music.

Lovely big outdoor area but you were only allowed to eat in the dark indoor section. Bit of a waste on a nice sunny day. Food and drinks were reasonable.

I used to enjoy going to the Railway but after today I’ll not be going back.

Firstly I ordered the $18 work lunch special, waited 50 mins to be told they didn’t have what I ordered which is fine so I changed my order. Everyone on my table was served and my meal still had not arrived and discovered there was a mix up and it had not been put through to the kitchen.

I then waited over an hour and an half and finally got my meal as a takeaway.

If this wasn’t bad enough I’ve just checked my account and realised I was charged $20 for a pint of Furphy ale.

I’m so disappointed as I used to enjoy the Railway but this has really turned me away.

Great place to have a drink or two, gay crowd on Sundays, somehow a bit pretentious, I would reckon, go with company, so you can have your own little circle. Very affordable

Above pub food quality, food is excellent. Great service and has a good vibe. Great staff. Highly recommend been there twice now.

The service was great. It’s a very clean pub with friendly staff. The drinks are priced cheaper than most places on Chapel street. The patrons here were unpretentious and relaxed - such a welcome relief from most other places on Chapel street.

The pub has both indoor and outdoor areas, and a smoking area too. My friends loved their food. I was happy with my drinks.

I was happy with the comfy vibe. I’ll definitely visit again! I think I now have a favourite pub in Windsor.
