I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone at QEC I stayed here when my son was 5.5 months & it truly saved my life.after 3 nights my son started sleeping through the night NO CIO! … he is now 7m and has been an amazing sleeper since! The support, and the skills you learn is unmatched! Don’t spend your money on consultants, if you’re thinking about contacting QEC stop & just do it! You will not regret it! Again thank you guys xx

I went to QEC with little Lilly and I loved the experience. I had an opportunity to be a mother and I felt like a real mother me and Lilly loved the joy and happiness we got. I loved the groups and the advice and help. Lilly and I enjoyed it much. Thank you so much for the experience. May have to try it if I have another child. Xx

Would recommend this to anyone. If you have to travel a few hours to get there like myself it's definitely worth it.

I was really disappointed with the telehealth day program. This is the worst service I have ever received in Australia in the past five years. Do you think talking VIA PHONE to show how to settle a baby to sleep will work?

I heard of some very good feedback for the resident program. Now I think that we don't actually know the successful rate. Maybe 10 out of 1000 families were successful and were very happy to share. The others may thought they failed and were shy to share. I have never given such a negative feedback but I want to let parents know that they should not expect much.

I was hoping that the program could prove by showing that the techniques they say will work. But we were just spending time to talk about irrelevant things such as what is my job, whether my child is planned instead of doing something about the settling. We were spending a lot of time at beginning of the day to answer the questions already answered in my referal. It is a waste of time to go through them again.

I called three times during the day. One was just to ask for information but two other times were to get help to settle my son to bed when he showed tired signs. That was the most important thing in the program, not the talking, but the practice. BUT I waited 10 and 15 minutes for the first and second times. For the third time, I got a call back after one hour! It was useless after my son had cried so much and fell asleep. I was told that there were several families attending the program at the same time so the nurse was busy. I think it is better to do it properly by paying attention to a family rather than roaming around to ask irrelevant questions.

Maybe it is better with the resident program when the nurse will be there. Please stop doing telehealth. It is even harmful when they just leave the parents there with a crying child.

Even for the resources and strategies, I do not think it will work for us. I was told that the plan is to calm the child and put him to the cot, if he cries, pick him up to calm him, then put him down when he is calm, repeat a few times and he will be tired and falls asleep in the cot. This is repeated too much that you would think it is true. The fact is my son will fall asleep when I pick him up but then cries when I put him down. He will be tired but will just falls asleep in my arm and cries the moment leaving my arm. If we repeat it, he eventually will be so upset the he wakes up and not sleep any more. They make the assumption that every child is the same. When I told them about my child, they have nothing to adapt the strategy to a specific case.

Finally, I also doubt that they would care about my feedback when such a bad service was given.

Amazing staff who don’t judge you! Unfortunately it’s not guaranteed to get your baby to magically sleep through the night but it took only two weeks for my 11 months old to go from waking every 1-2 hours to waking only 2-3 times a night.

QEC are absolutely amazing. Mums - do not hesitate applying for their sleep school program. You will not regret it! The nurses are nothing short of amazing and are there for you 24/7. The entire week was filled with helpful education sessions as well as hands on assistance with your baby’s sleep. They teach responsive settling techniques which I felt more comfortable with than cry it out methods.

I walked in sleep deprived from my baby waking up hourly and only sleeping in my arms, to leaving the program with a baby who slept through the night in his own cot. These women are magicians! Thank you QEC for giving me my quality of life back!

I felt that one particular staff member was quite rude and condescending towards me. Not a fan.

I cant reccommend them enough. The staff here are absolutely amazing. My husband and i came in sleep deprived with our 9 month old waking atleast 9 times a night, breastfed to sleep and constantly rocked and held and refusing to sleep in her own cot, to now settling on her own in her cot with little to no help from us and has slept through the night which i never thought would happen. Im so happy with my experience here. And the food aswell is amazing. Parents please dont hesitate to come here for help you will not regret it.

Thank you QEC staff.

Went to the day stay program with my near 6 month old. I couldn't get him to nap in his cot and at night he was waking so frequently. I really had a lot of doubt in myself and what I should be doing. QEC really helped me get on track and we are so thankful for it. They taught hands on settling and it was more about routine and wake times etc than just leaving the babies to cry. Quick to get in aswell. Would recommend to any mum's struggling

What an amazing place. All the staff were so kind and supportive. The difference a five day stay has made to our family is just amazing.
We felt comfortable and cared for every step of the way and we learnt so much.
We went from being lucky to get 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep to 8 hours plus of solid sleep overnight and feel so much more confident in our parenting.
I just can't thank everyone at QEC enough for all their help.
The food was also amazing. An incredible facility for parents needing help with sleep. The experience has improved almost every aspect of our family life in a wonderful chain reaction.
Thank you, thank you, thank you QEC

I would highly recommend to any parent that needs help with baby sleeping. Staff are extremely supportive and knowledgeable. A 5 day stay had a huge positive impact on our family.from being totally sleep deprived to a baby enjoying her own cot and sleeps through the night!

This place is a joke they had it in for us our whole stay. Put my hearing impaired wife in the furthest room from all the facilities then claimed she was not attentive to baby.resulted in lengthy court battles with dhs after staying with this mob I would avoid like the plague.

I stayed for 5 days at this wonderful place in 1996 and it saved my life. My baby, who is now 21 years, was 6 months at the time and not sleeping well at night. He would wake around 6-8 times a night and refused to sleep during the day. After the wonderful guidance and support from the staff at the QEC, I left the centre with a baby who was sleeping through the night and twice during the day. The strategies I learnt in the QEC meant that if he did wake during the night, I was able to apply what I had learnt and settle him back down. I can't speak highly enough of this wonderful place and so pleased to see that it is still operating after all these years.
