The Provender Country Bakehouse reviews
57 Please be more pleasant when serving people a smile never hurts. And that line up! You need a much better system.
Also asked for a bag for the many things l bought got it thrown at me
Mouldy cheescake. Scary that the food that is not sold in a day is placed out for sale again often enough to become mouldy. Politely I was offered a refund, but I had to tell them to remove the entire tray from the display
We always stop here when passing through Yea, coffee's good, pies are excellent and the cakes are way too good, makes it hard to not have some. Only problem with this bakery is it's so popular it can sometimes be too busy and the wait eats into your travel time. But that's the price you pay for good eateries.
I brought a $9.50 high priced chicken salad roll at 8am on the 2nd of October 2023 to eat for lunch while I was working on site out of town. The first bite at lunch showed it was clearly at least one or two days old and was almost stale.
Just my experience. Others may have a different experience.
Great food and great owners and staff.
I love the Aussie pizzas and garlic pull apart.
On my most recent visit I enjoyed the best sausage rolls ever. A must stop on your journey to Seymour and Benalla. The coffee is also great and a ideal stop for breakfast after an early exit from Melbourne or a great weekend day trip
Good food selection, reasonable prices, good and fast service, very clean toilets. What more could you ask for?
Seems to be very popular, lots of customers. Pies were very nice as was the snot block and wagon wheel. Great place to pop in on your way through town.
The quality of food is second to none. Servings are generous. Each time I visit it takes a long time to be served. Staff look like they are stressed. Coffee is expensive and not up to scratch. Parking is a problem on busy days. Personally, I think this business needs bigger premises.
Went there last Sunday morning for the first time, got a couple of ham and cheese croissants and a drink. Everything was super delicious will be back again
Great place for some very different types of Home- made cakes like a good size slice of blueberry cheesecake and good sized apple and rhubarb crumble tart, just to name a couple and so much more like a big range of breads and rolls and larger cakes and many different types of pies, pasties and savouries, breads rolls, eat inside or outside
Love this bakery, a definate stop on road trips to Bendigo. The best hot chocolates, pies and cakes ect and I love their Pumpkin and Spinich Bread.
We were ate here on Wednesday 27-07-22 and were served by a middle aged female with purple hair, no personality and attitude.
I can handle that but the coffee she made us was Luke warm. I should have really taken it back.
Will go to Yea Bakery me time
Rae and Ed
So many options. Good sized portions. Good coffee. Went with the sweet chilly chicken wrap and Egg & Lettuce sandwich. Good meal. Bought some bread and quiche + pies for home.
Really wanted to get back to this place, it looked that good.
I grabbed a caramel slice that is easily one of the top 3 I've had throughout my travels across the entire country.
The pie selection looked insane - Thai Green Curry, Cheeseburger amongst all the standard flavours. The pastry here is bang on.
Spectacular coffee and heaps of friendly staff keeping the lines moving through.
Yea coming through with the goods, thank you!
Busy early morning on the weekend. The staff were managing well given there seemed to be staff shortages when I visited.
The pies/pasties were decent. Coffee was okay. Loved the little section where you could purchase things like honey, biscuits, olive oil. Limited seating availability. But staff were friendly and was a good place to stop by. The range of bakery products were good from pies and egg and bacon rolls to biscuits, cakes, slices and doughnuts.
Three words for this place, busy, expensive, slow service otherwise this is an ok place to stop in for a coffee and for a quick bite to eat in Yea
Always stop at this bakery.product looks snd tastes amazing.however, they let themselves down in the coffee department. The wait is far too long and the coffee service way too slow. They need 2 people on the coffee machine when it's busy, thats the only negative about this bakery.
Such a fantastic country bakery! One of a few in Yea, it's definitely our favourite and the one we always come back to when in town. Much larger than you'd expect, heaps of hot and cold lunch options, lots of drinks and a *huge* amount of yummy bakery treats. The breads, cakes and slices and other goodies are also really generous and great value for money. They also have a big selection of local products like jams and relishes, sweets and biscuits etc, which is a great way to support other local small businesses. We have tried a few jams, relishes and spreads and really loved them. The pumpkin spinach bread is delicious, not sure if it's still there but definitely one to try. The chocolate jam donuts and Florentine biscuits I can also 100% vouch for. The cold drinks in the fridge are delicious too, I actually found my favourite orange passionfruit drink of literally all time (it's Aussie too!) and I can't find it anywhere else so I will definitely be making the hour drive to stock back up on it soon!
Not good. Didn't live up to expectations. Certainly husband's Florentine was del. Coffee Ok. Vanilla slice worst I've ever had. Pies etc looked great. Prepackaged sandwich dry I suspect it was yesterday's. Certainly popular with travellers. For me I'll check out the other cafes and bakeries before I go into the first I see. Lots of takeaways, cafes etc in Yea. Plenty of travellers calling in for a snack.
Chicken bacon and seeded mustard pie was so moist and flavourful. We preferred it to the Chicken Parma which was a bit dry
