The Pound Cafe South Yarra

This is a well kept secret. Delightful cafe and the charred broccolini salad was so delicious as was the coffee. Friendly staff too. Highly recommend.

Went last night for a few drinks and some share plates. What a delightful experience. Drinks were on point, food was unbelievable. Great spot for an after work drink or two on a Friday!

Had such an amazing experience and was welcomed with open arms right from the word go. The vibe at Pound was infectious, warm and inviting. My group tried the grazing menu on a Friday night and we loved the meatballs and the focaccia. All menu items were reasonably priced and honestly we can’t wait to go back for more after work drinks and nibbles. Would recommend Pound to any and all.

This cafe became our morning regular over our trip to Melbourne. From our first morning we were welcomed with open arms and warm smiles, not just from staff but other guests in the venue. Did not hesitate to come back every morning during our stay. Every staff member was friendly and charismatic. Loved the outside seating, especially when the doggies were out for their morning walks and joined us for coffee. Cosy and good vibes, thanks for looking after us! Ps.they have the creamiest milk I’ve ever tasted.

Staff were incredibly friendly, went for my dads birthday, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel accommodated. Most certainly will be my new local from now on 10/10

I spent some quality time at The Pound (AKA lb) some years back, escaping the Como Cinema between films at festival time. Back then I’d have been after a caffeine fix. A more recent visit was for breakfast, starting with that obligatory cappuccino and moving on to fruit toast and porridge, washing it down with hot chocolate. Glad to reconnect!

Coffee hero and lifesaver. Had a perfectly made oat latte and the porridge was YUM! Great way to start a cold morning.

The Pound Cafe is a great place for breakfast. The omelette with smoked salmon is excellent, and the coffee is good. The service is polite and the prices are reasonable.

Not really a pet friendly place. I went there in the middle of the rain with my puppy and you are just allowed to be outside (3 tables on the side walk)

Owners are super kind and welcoming. I got myself their signature toastie, it was so good for something so simple. The dijon mustard really helps amplify and balance out the flavours of a regular ham and cheese toastie by cutting out the “greasiness” one might expect. The bread they use also really good and has the right amount of chew and crunch, acting as the carrier for the other elements. I also had a strong mocha to go with this and can attest to the fact they make great coffee as well. Highly recommended if you happen to be in South Yarra.

Very pleasant find whilst walking Chapel St looking for a place to eat brunch. Upon arrival the place had a locals vibe and was greeted by friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere although the place felt quite small, which I suppose added to the atmosphere. Excellent coffee and the food was also memorable. The salmon pita and the bruschetta were delicious and probably the best I've had in years. I'd give it 4.5 stars out of 5. I'm still looking for that elusive 5 star place and this was probably the closest.

Love this place! The food, service and atmosphere are consistently excellent. Always my go-to place for lunch. Deserves 6 stars.
