The Pivotonian Cinema

A nice single screen cinema, with comfortable seats with a decent sized screen for the auditorium. The sound was also on point, which alongside keen ticket prices made for an enjoyable evening seeing the new Wonka film!

Beautiful little cinema, very comfy seats with drink holders, lovely staff and great selection of snacks and drinks. Wide variety of movies generally non-mainstream with foreign films regularly played. Highly recommend.

Friendly staff. Relaxed environment with a relaxed vibe. Love the way the gift bags are given and the chill manner the staff do business. The establishmentn is so cool and the location is better than others if you can find a better place in this niche market I will challenge you to a pie eating contest

Love my regular visits to the comfortable Pivotonian. I can rely on this dedicated team for a great two hour escape into movie world.

I love this place. Excellent variety of films which have longer than usual runs and friendly atmosphere.

Seats are about 15 inches wide with very hard arm rests that don't raise.
Anyone with a big arse/wide hips/whatever, forget it.

Don't sit in the back two rows, the projector is both audible and casts extra light onto those seats on front of it.

Good selection of indie movies, but maybe they should have installed a row or two of deluxe seating (known in other theatres as standard width).

Can't recommend these guys enough, they know how to run a cinema and choose great films to screen!

Adorable addition to the cinematic offerings of GTown. Rarely disappointed with the offerings on show. Affordable tix, Comfy seats or bean bags, great sound, cheerful staff, excellent chai. All it needs is a bike corral out the front.

We weren’t impressed by the lack of masks today in the theatre. On accessing the lift to exit a woman entered without a mask & when we questioned her lack of mask she announced that the staff had told her she didn’t need to wear one. Not happy to return soon

I had mixed feelings about my experience at The Pivotonian Cinema. On one hand it hosts movies you won't really find anywhere else. The price of food and drinks are good too. However the cinema itself is what caused my mixed feelings. The door to the cinema is beside the screen, which causes interruptions when people need to leave or enter during a screening. The acoustics are fairly lacking so expect a noisy experience, plus the seat rows are not at a far enough angle to avoid the odd head obscuring your view. I do think one could dismiss these aspects as part of the charm of an old style cinema. I get that. However the speaker that was next to us was blown, so we could hear distortion throughout the film. I informed the staff of it. If they fix that issue it might be a better experience than the one I had.

They serve alcohol and vegan ice cream (as well as regular) which creates the perfect cinema experience.

This is the best cinema to sit and watch a movie with like minded people, just a great experience, highly recommended.

Intimate theatre with great seating and welcoming staff. Clean. The size means the screen is small compared to the chains but that is to be expected and did not really detract. Unfortunately the sound sysyem had some vaguaries, intermittant craks and pops as well as an inconsistant sound level during musical pieces that one would presume would be level. None the less I will go there again as one can see movies there not available eleswhere. Finally it is good to avaid the Main stream chains!
