The Pines Flora and Fauna Reserve reviews
32Lucky to be within a 10 min walk from here. Plenty of trails for walking and riding bikes. Great array of native plants and you can come across the odd echidna or wallaby in your travels. Plenty of bird life as well
If you're looking for a way to get some exercise, then the pines flora and fauna have you covered. You feel like you're in the middle of a bush while still in suburbia. There's a little river, some hills and heaps of flat walking tracks. At the top of the hill are some really nice views of the surroundings. I really enjoy walking here and it is a nice quiet spot to enjoy.
Yes it's a good place to cycle. Tracks for MTB and gravel/hybrid bikes. And connects to the asphalted penlink trail if you'd like a longer ride, or if you're on a road bike.
I am blessed to live a 7 minute walk from this reserve. Stunning scenery and a plethora of wildlife, just when I think I've seen everything I'm going to see, I come across something different. Lots of flat paths but also some hilly areas walking up the the lookout for more of a challenge and amazing views
Some really pleasant walking tracks through the reserve with some great views. Plenty of different routes you can take, and the reserve is actually quite large. We saw quite an array of different bird wildlife, with lots of parrots and cockatoos. Dogs are allowed on leash which was great, and there's two main parts to the reserve that you can explore. Parking was fairly small, but there were not that people there. A few benches and shaded areas near the car park too.
Amazing hidden little gem if biodiversity in the Surban wilderness. Great all weather tracks. Good bike tracks. Great walking tracks to scenic views
Lovely remote feeling, especially on the inner trails. Very few people when I was there and lots of different flowers and insects.
It's always a delight to discover wonderful areas such as this. The changes to the path throughout was most enjoyable. Great view at the top and so peaceful and quiet.
Great outdoor walks, not very challenging but always interesting. Lots of rain so couldn't cross under freeway to other part of reserve.
Great place to get some fresh air. Although at the entrance there is a sign saying all dogs to be on leads and every second person has a dog off lead. Disappointing when people cant follow simple rules.
Beautiful sunny day for a bike ride on the bike track. People who are walking seems to be friendly. Lucky to get a car park spot around
midday. Came across a tiger snake crossing the concrete park.
Beautiful nature walks with a mix of dirt, sand and concrete walking tracks. I also like the bike track that takes you along the peninsular. Only reason for not 5* is no lightning for the early morning or late afternoon walks.
I really enjoyed walking through the reserve on such a lovely day. I enjoyed getting outside in the fresh air. Good experience.
A peaceful, serene reserve in Metropolitan Melbourne.
Nice area for a walk, jog or bike ride, with a designated bike track, at any time.
And not too far from the city.
The Pines Flora and Fauna Reserve is a very calm, free, park with a running creek and natural Australian fauna.
If you're lucky, you may come across some wildlife.
Meh. Weird vibe and the freeway is close so its loud, no roos or anything. Thought i was going to get murdered. Highly recommend it
Great walks either along the path (2hrs ballarto rd to karingal shops and back). Or through the bush tracks.
Though I have seen snakes
Fabulous example of coastal flora. Extensive walking trails. No toilets available! It's divided by the freeway and there is only one pedestrian underpass which can be hard to find.
Really big and a really pleasant walk. Could use some dog poop bins though to make it perfect! Perhaps some more signs too so it's harder to get lost
Large bush reserve with a good network of tracks and a hill with good views across the surrounding region.
This is a semi natural bushland reserve. Its extremely scrubby and has a lot of invasive species. The tracks are mostly good but some sandy patches and some smaller ones aren't particularly well looked after. The major trails are groomed crushed rock with sand areas. No toilets. Not accessible. It is peaceful and plenty to see if you like plants.
