It was an absolute pleasure meeting everybody at the photo studio. They were incredibly accommodating and did everything they could to make me feel as comfortable as possible from start to finish.

Loved Loved Loved my experience at the Photo Studio! Honestly was a bit nervous stepping in because I had no prior experience in modelling but everyone made me feel right at home and they were so encouraging about my own ideas. Want to say a special thanks to Juan for being an amazing photographer and helping me with posing. You made me feel so comfortable in my own skin and made me realise how much I loved being in front of the camera! Thank you to Nikki for highlighting my facial features in such a natural and perfect way. Thanks to Matthew for also running around with us to create the best lighting and backdrops. Last but not least thanks to Alana for organising everything and put me in touch with all the info to take modelling further. Hopefully it takes off and I'll be in touch for more photos soon:)

I'll preface this review with this: I have never felt more like myself when I had the chance to go to The Photo Studio Melbourne. Gets 5 stars and I cannot recommend it enough. The entire process was beyond incredible.

I arrived on the day of my photoshoot and got started; my hair and makeup artist Ana was wonderfully friendly and I enjoyed giving creative freedom. I had been struggling with my identity for a little while, and Ana definitely helped me with that. I felt like I was finally who I wanted to be when I looked in the mirror. Thanks heaps Ana!

Juan, my photographer was exceptional, it was like talking to a new friend that also happened to be taking photos of me. Juan coached me with my poses, was extraordinarily professional and when I got the chance to see my photos last week I was truly blown away at how incredible they were. It's clear that this is a passion. Thanks a tonne Juan!

Alana, my producer on the day was just lovely, and when I went to view my photos, she made the process easy, fun, and extremely thorough, I've had similar experiences shooting in a photography setting but The Photo Studio goes above and beyond, explaining in detail how the photos get retouched and edited so they can be the best they can be. It was refreshing.

I left The Photo Studio both on the day of the shoot and the day of the viewing feeling more myself than I ever have, feeling as if this is something achievable. My entire experience from start to finish was indescribably incredible and I cannot recommend it more. Thank you so much. I can't wait to see my photos!

My experience at the studio was far from 'empowering', instead it was overwhelming, upsetting and disappointing. When enquiring about the session with the Booker, I was extremely and cannot emphasise the word 'extremely' overwhelmed. The Booker was very pushy, made me feel guilty and anxious. She was getting angry that I was asking so many questions about the studio and that I wasn't just willing to pay my hard earned money straightaway. From the first phone call, already I could tell this was too good to be true. A 'premium' photoshoot for $80 with a stylist, photographer, makeup artist and producer and honestly I could have not been more correct.

The actual session was fine, great energy from the staff, very casual and relaxed, I actually thought maybe this isn't as bad as I anticipated. Everyone seemed to be professional. However, as I came back to view my photos I was almost on the verge of tears and I mean that in a literal sense. The quality of work was extremely poor, the prices absolutely did not live up to the standard of the service and I was made to feel bad about not wanting to purchase the photos. I normally consider myself as a pretty confident individual and even this being said my confidence dropped to new levels of low, the photos taken of me quite frankly were embarrassing and I don't mean to say that in a conceded way. I have worked with many other industry professionals in this field over the years and to be honest I have never felt this disappointed and upset. Even the advise I was given by the producer about the modelling industry was not accurate, especially about how to create a portfolio because they were more forced on pushing me to just pay over $2000+. The photos taken of me looked nothing like the images they have displayed on their website/ social media platforms and after reading all the one star reviews, I've just realised I'm not the only person who felt this way and I think that is worth looking into.

Normally I would not write such as poor review for a business/ organisation as I understand the hard work it takes to run a company. However, I was genuinely saddened when I left the experience. I felt as though my time and my money were wasted and I would really hate for others to have the same experience as me. I would even more so hate for a young person with no experience in this industry to think it is okay to pay this much for an image or an entire portfolio to get signed to an agency. If your are someone looking to build your portfolio or even just looking to organise a photoshoot, my advice is to find photographers who you actually feel a connection to, someone who you think can capture your style and Instagram is actually a great place to find these people. Check out their feeds, their bios, the tagged images to get a good sense of their work and please don't feel pressured to pay a horrific amount for someone who pressures you to work with them. I understand we have the ability to make our own choices but when people pressure you into something, it is essentially toxic.

Honestly such a great experience, the whole team was so friendly and welcoming! From the makeup to the photography, everything was so perfect and I’m glad I got to share this experience with these amazing people. The photos turned out absolutely stunning and I’d highly recommend anyone to come and experience it for themselves. The photos were a little bit pricey but when you consider all the work the team puts it, it’s worth every cent. 12/10 would recommend (:

Made an enquiry and was a little shocked to be honest.
I'm 20 years old and work full time as a carpenter. I am in the process of putting together my own business and was after some photos for my socials. I was told it would be $80 for the shoot, then once I revealed my age I was told I needed a parent to come with me? As I live in Melbourne alone the guy told me I needed to pay and extra $300 to cover my shoot? Why? Because I'm young? Because you think I cant afford the shoot? Massive turn off. Beware!
Then I find out photos are $290 each for ONE digital image no matter how many you want. The $$ arent anywhere on the website which makes you think something is up.save your money and go somewhere cheaper.

The hospitality as soon as I came up to park in the garage to the first welcome by the team when I walked in. I can not thank The Photo Studio team enough for definitely one of the best experiences / best days I have had. Chris was so welcoming and made me feel confident & comfortable as soon as he welcomed me. I had the pleasure of having Juan photograph me and Chloe do my hair & make up! These two worked so closely with me & made me feel confident and beautiful- also they always made sure I was happy with every step! I am so excited for the viewing and to go back. The worst part about it was when I had to leave!
All the staff are delightful and the atmosphere is so electric & refreshing! So much fun!

SIMPLY AMAZING!
My 12 years old's first ever solo photoshoot to get his modeling portfolio off to a great start. The entire experience was nothing short of exceptional. From my initial point of contact with Jennifer not once did I feel pressured, she was fantastic from setting up the appointment to provided me with all the necessary styling advise needed.

When we walked into the studio it was a buzz with people here there and everywhere and they were all so friendly and engaging. We were introduced to our beautiful Producer Alana who ran us through what to expect and Michael who showed us through to the studio and introduced us to the very talent Head Photographer Juan.

My son thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and Juan mentored him through every step of the shoot.

Viewing night was no different, Alana is simply amazing! At no point in time did we feel pressured to make a decision she offered her professional opinion on shots she thought were fantastic and was so encouraging.

My experience at PhotoStudio Australia at Fitzroy was a premium and remarkably enjoyable experience from the get go, from the first phone call to the photoshoot itself, onto to the viewing, it was nothing less than positive. Started with having a fantastic conversation with Sam, and she was so polite and friendly on the phone, when I told her a bit about my story and inspiration for perusing modelling, she kindly opted to give me a hefty discount on my photoshoot as she was intrigued and believed in me, which already was such a lovely gesture. Hana was my photographer on the day of the shoot, and she was absolutely terrific to work with Bubbly, Bright, gorgeous and enthusiastic about her work, and knew exactly how to take a great photo The floor staff were polite and hospitable, offering drinks frequently and looking after clothes, props and possessions left in the dress area. Chloe the makeup artist was friendly and did a good job with making my skin look smooth and flawless. Last but not least, my producer Alana was such a lovely and heartful person to deal with, putting the icing on the cake and making it an extremely pleasurable experience in the end. The viewing was fun and Alana added some awfully kind gestures. If you choose to go with @Thephotostudiomelbourne you’d be very lucky to have Alana as your producer and just as well with Hana and the rest of the crew who looked after me. I’d highly recommend this place for a good quality service and the images I ended up with were remarkable. The team are not pushy with selling and want you to make the best decision in the end for yourself. The price isn’t cheap, I’ll admit, but for how hard the staff work and for the service you receive and the all around experience I had, I’m sure it’s going to be worth every cent at the end of the day. Would give more than 5 stars if I could.

A very creative, friendly and a professional team. Everything from Booking to final shoot was very well taken care of. Hatsoff to the stylist, Makeup artist and the Team for Detail work and perfection. Maestro Photographer Juan Farrell is truly a Magician, Highly skilled professional who is at top of this game.
