The Pepper Tree Essendon

I've been coming here for dinners with family for over three years now and it's always been a great little spot!

Booked 6.45pm for 7 we ordered 4 scotch steaks medium rare all came well done, so chewy my jaws hurt. Both pepper and mushroom source too salty. Told the waiter all he said was "sorry". First visit also the last, by the way we were the only customer this says everything.

The location is great, very central and a lot of parking options nearby. Food was excellent and decent portion sizes. A very dog friendly restaurant. Will definitely be return

Had the nicest meal here out in the beer garden. Seafood linguine was unreal and the service was great. Delicious and generous portion (more of an eater than a photographer so no photo.). By all reports all other meals at the table were equally fantastic. Hidden gem in Essendon give this place a try

Went on Monday night with a group of 20 or so, the fire was going and it was cosy, the waiting staff were excellent, I ordered a Parmi and it was enormous, it had its own postcode!
It was delicious and cheap, the other guests meals were outstanding…. The owner was delightful and very generous with his time……. I’ll be going back for sure!

Great staff. Great food. Must say it’s few and far between where there is good price food that tastes fantastic.

Amazing and delicious food. Big portions and good prices. The staff is very friendly, they also have a great variety of wine/beers and the coffee is fantastic too!

The staff members were so kind and accommodating, making you feel at home. Food was delicious and came in big portions and I mean, big. Totally worth the price. Lamb, pizza, ravioli, parmas. Flavoursome and cooked to perfection. We went there for the sign: "biggest beer garden at Essendon". Not so big, but with nice beers flowing through. We went there for dinner on a Tuesday night and it was almost empty, no booking needed. I missed some music playing on the background however, I will definitely visit this small family business gem again.

Great little place which we visit often. The owner and staff are so nice and accomodating and the food is great!

Great value for money - the meals were huge and tasted good as well. My partner and I both brought enough home for lunch the next day. We went as a group of four for a midweek dinner and it was pretty quiet, but I can imagine weekends would be busy with meals like that! The staff were also great, very friendly and gave us just the right amount of attention throughout the time we were there.

Everything we tried was delicious! I’m glad we found this place before flying out of Melbourne!

It was my son's 18th Birthday. There was 20 of us. The service was fantastic. We were greeted by the owner. Food was really good & large portions. The service was exceptional. I thoroughly recommend it and will definitely go there again. It deserves ten stars.

The Pepper Tree Restaurant is a Great Place to Eat, Friendly customer service and the food is Great! Salt and pepper squid with chips and salad with garlic white sauce on the side is a must to try Delicious! Also Hot Dog with chips with its own flare is also worth of try Tasty! This place is cosy with a enjoyable vibe, and a great menu with reasonable prices together with Great Quality Food, I Recommend This Place it’s worthy of 5 Stars

Excellent dinner for 6. Service was great, prices were great and the food was great. Parma was ginormous. Will definitely be back next time we are in the area. Highly recommend

This is so good, can’t believe i have never been here before.they are so good, the host was so sweet and lovely.steak was huge, with a lot of smashed potato. Barramundi was so nice, so tender.love it for sure.that also have the pepper tree in the back, but it was too cold and dark so we can’t be bothered to check them out.

Food is exceptional with very generous serving sizes. Well priced, nice decor and service. Highly recommended and im usually a tough critic. I think this is my first 5 star review. Support this local business

Parma bigger than my hand. Gnocchi is home made and the espresso martini was in the top 3 best ones I've ever had.
The garlic butter drumlettes were an amazing surprise.

The place is looking a bit tired. Service was prompt and polite but menu is a bit limited.
