The Pancake Parlour reviews
55Came for the western theme but stayed for the service. I was expecting saloon doors and cowboys but was unfortunately disappointed. However the amazing service and pancakes were enough to keep me a happy cowboy. YEE HAW
We two grandparents arrived with 2 feisty under fives in tow, Deb got us organised in no time and made it the best experience for us. So grateful for the great food and service - highly recommend.
Don't even bother, horrible food, overpriced and poor quality. It's far from the Pancake parlour of 20 years ago.
I wanted 1 plain pancake with nothing else, just a plain pancake for my son. It was $10 and the size of a palm.
The other food we ordered was around $25 a plate, wouldn't feed it to a dog.
Great staff, very clean and food perfect!
Looking for something out side the norm try a pancake with your bacon. Lol
I recommend this place 100 percent!
The food was great but the service took very long. We had to wait more than 30 mins to get our pancakes and drinks took long aswell.
I always love visiting The Pancake Parlor. I find it low key, casual but down to earth. The lady was friendly and attentive to our needs. The food was delicious as usual. I like the consistency. Nice place
Very disappointing experience.
Waited over 25 minutes to receive Pancakes and coffee.
Pancakes are not bad, but nothing special. They're pancakes that you can make at home. I have tried the strawberry pancake. It was a good.
Great food but the service sucks. Waited almost 10 minutes for someone to take my order.
When you think of pancake, this is the first place that you can think of… old fashion kind of pancake house, that once you walk in, you are transported back to modern art houses, with beautiful graphics on the walls.
It’s best to book on weekends, but they welcome walk-ins.
We were taken to our table by a friendly staff and asked us to scan the bar code to check the menu.
We ordered the Traditional Bacon and Eggs - Served with two pancakes and fried eggs, and the Country Breakfast - Two pancakes, bacon, tomato, garlic mushrooms & scrambled eggs.
The pancakes were nice & fluffy, and eggs were perfect, and the bacon was nice & juicy! Everything was simply perfect. We paid a bit extra to get the Pure Organic Maple Syrup (1/2 serve $3.8, full serve $5.8), which is well worth every penny, so highly recommended.
This place could have earned an easy 5 stars for us if it wasn’t for their coffee. It was very mediocre and not the coffee standard you would expect from an Australian institution.
A very lovely place to have pancakes! I loved the ambiance and the bright open space. Excellent table service, and pancakes arrived quick too. As recommended by the waiter, we ordered the sweet pancakes - Tiramisu and Jamaican Banana, and they were both delicious. It’s very filling too, so we may try the mini pancakes instead of the original pancakes next time.
There’s a winter special, so the sweet pancakes are only $10 if the temperature is under 10 degrees! Make sure you join as members on the app ️
Good range of choices and good taste of pancakes overall and nice atmosphere. Waiting time can be very long because they are very busy, maybe not the best organisation.
Had the baby pancakes for dessert because, why not? Pancakes were fluffy and flavourful. Place was spacious too and ideal for date nights!?
Horrendous food. Meat crepes that looked and tastes like hospital food, undercooked wedges, overpriced drinks. Do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs.
Very disappointing experience.
Waited over 35 minutes to receive a cold meal, waitress kindly took away to replace, only to receive a replacement 6 minutes later with poached eggs floating in water (and I don't mean a little, waitress nearly lost them off the plate when setting down on table) and they were under cooked and bacon raw, not even a hint of cooking colour. Take 3 - undercooked poached eggs, white of eggs were sticky translucent, bacon still not crispy as originally ordered but slightly better and at least edible. Declined the offer of another attempt, or sweet replacement; removed eggs and ate small amount of pancake and bacon.
Place was less than half full and heard staff state they were going to hold the front door entry for 20-30 minutes.
While the wait staff tried their best, were very friendly, apologetic and could agree, meal/s were well below par, they were heavily let down by the chef/cooks in the kitchen.
I would rate the wait staff well but not an experience, I would like to repeat
Based on a few visits here. Usually when we come its on busy nights like Friday so all points to the team for their efforts. My main complaint is the time it takes to get service and food as well as cold drinks being served in warm glassware probably from a dishwasher. Foods usually great though.
“IT”!
After 27 years I can still say that I get excited to order pancakes from the GOAT. Honestly, can anyone do them better? I went a different route from my standard order of a stack with fresh strawberries (basic b*tch I know) and levelled up with this drool-worthy combo of fried banana, maple syrup and hot buttered walnuts This is IT everyone, get on it.
My followers knows that Im pretty straight and honest when it comes to rate a venue or a service. Honestly I would definitelly give 0 zero stars for the absolute negative experience I had today here with my family.
Being not particularly busy we had to wait approx 45 minutes to receive in front of us a ridicolously burned and undersized 2 orders of pancakes.
On top of everything the normal pancake was also undersized, and aside of the waiters that very polite, the manager didn't do any effort to solve the situation.
I would definitelly suggest to avoid PP at Melbourne Central confident that you surely will find better options somewhere else.
Busy busy busy. Great atmosphere. Food arrived as expected in a timely manner. However, waiting for 15 minutes for 2 glasses of water is really a stretch when we asked 2 staff members.
The first said sure no problem then was no where to be found. The second - yep I can get that for you right away and continued wiping down 4 tables before getting us the water.
We visited Pancake Parlour CBD over the long weekend and were very disappointed. We were placed at a table in the middle of the entrance/ walkway, so each time someone would walk past our chairs were knocked. The staff were pushy to place an order as soon as we sat down before we had even picked up the menu. The food also took a while to be served.
As soon as we received our meals we also received the bill, we found this to be very rude. It felt as though they were rushing to get us out in order to get another table in. We thought this was uncalled for and unfair as we did not need to be rushed out the door and would have preferred to have a chat and enjoy our meals. Overall, we did not enjoy our experience at this Pancake Parlour, will not be visiting again.
Very disappointing and angry.
Did a door dash order that took over hour and a half to arrive when I only live 1.6km away.
It arrived cold after I have called and ask what was going in and I ask how long was it sitting for and they said they have just made it
Great food but the service sucks. Waited almost 10 minutes for someone to take my order, had to wave someone down and ask to give my order.
