The Paddock / Long John Pickles

A very chill cafe you can go to on the way to Wilson Prom. They have an indoor and outdoor but covered area you can sit down and enjoy your coffee and lots of sweet treats.

Went in all excited due to the good reviews, we arrived and the lady was being quite rude and narky about us needing to wait to be seated. When we were just looking around scooping out the place. She told us to be patient and she’ll sort us out soon in a narky tone. Walked straight out. Felt too uncomfortable.
Many tables were empty but a mess.

The coffee tastes horrible. I would give 0 star if possible. My friend had the soy latte, it tastes sour and weird, she felt unwell afterwards and actually vomitted on the street. Would not recommend.

Eggs Benny were cooked well, very tasty and priced well. Would recommend this place for breakfast.

I was here with a friend on the 13th of July and all I can say is this place had the best food I’ve ever had, I got the eggs Benedict and the hollandaise sauce was by far the best I’ve ever eaten. The coffee was also amazing. The atmosphere was amazing too, they were rocking abba when we walked in so you can’t go wrong. I could not recommend this place more if you’re ever in the area

I went here for a coffee and dinner after a tiring hiking. The staff were friendly. Their coffee and gnocchi is really good.

Relaxed cafe with good food and nice people, stopped past for brekky and was busy on a Sunday morning. Tasty food, good coffee and friendly service

Absolutely the best place to eat in Fish Creek, maybe in all of South Gippsland! Local ingredients, great flavour combinations and beautifully presented. Food can be slow to arrive, but the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is always divine.

I was staying in Waratah Bay in an internet dead-spot, so ended up at Long John Pickles for the Wi-fi. I was so happy I did. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious (poached eggs, hash browns and mushrooms, beautifully presented), and I took away an excellent sausage roll and chocolate brownie for my lunch (and I’ve eaten a lot of brownies in my time). Thank you Long John Pickles, you saved my bacon!

After a hot and tiring weekend away at The Prom we were out of camping supplies and in search of some good grub to fuel the rest of our journey drive back home. In the artsy and quirky town on the Great Southern Rail Trail this café was a pleasure for us to sit in. Cosy cushions, an ant wacky vibe and even a beautiful piano. Staff welcomed us in and took our order for us straight away. We both ordered the black magic toasty which was packed full of greens, mushrooms and goats cheese. We are both vegetarian so were delighted when we saw this amongst other options on the menu! It was a treasure to find. Fizzy and soft drinks available were also so refreshing. I was really impressed with the toasty which we had served with a hot plate of chips and this delicious maybe homemade tomato salsa/relish. Thank you so much to all the staff in here who make this such a kind and generous café with well prepared yummy food! The girl who served us said bye and thanked us as we left which I also thought was super lovely. Eating here was a real treasure and a pleasure! Definitely go here if you are in the area.

My Fiancé, myself and my fur baby have travelled all the way from the Yarra Valley, we are very happy we found this hidden gem! Such a delicious meal, best we have had in quite awhile!

A simply exceptional meal. Have just had dinner with my wife and kids and can’t speak more highly of our experience. The food was just amazing (we had gnocchi, duck and curry followed by dessert). The drink recommendations were perfect and the service was wonderful and warm. Shelby thank you so much for making our night so great, your food and front of house service is amazing. This may have been one of the best brunches of my life.the roasted veg toastie was magnificent.the soy iced latte - divine.my friends all enjoyed their meals too - especially the cheese and tomato croissant! Lovely service, with blankets and fruit cushions provided to brace the cold weather.beautiful establishment, with beautiful people! Thanks guys!

Great Food. Had the Omelete which was extra yummy. Good coffe. Great Sausage Rolls made on premises. Took them home for Dinner. Extremelly friendly staff. Look forward to my next visit

Came here for a late afternoon post ride meal & coffee. I only drink long black coffee and it’s always a hit & miss (no milk to disguise poorly made coffee) and I’m not exaggerating but the coffee here hit the ball out of the park. Sensational! Absolutely 100% the best LB I’ve had and I’ve had heaps. Ordered a smashed avocado and it was beautifully presented. My partner raved about the caramel slice from a previous visit and it was just as good the second time. Decent size & not overly sweet. Service was prompt, friendly & quick. Highly recommend.
