The Olive Jar reviews
70Definitely one of my favourite Italian restaurants. Food is amazing and the atmosphere definitely brings you back to Italy!
Love this little Italian place, we tried takeaway Pizza for the first time and they were so nice. Great prices too. We just moved to the area and this is our local place for sure. I am dying to try the home made pasta and home made wine. We will be back!
We have loved this place for some time, but I think at present they have lost the plot. Charging $15 corkage per bottle for byo is ridiculous. Also $12.50 for a small glass of homemade limoncello is a bit over the top. Food was ok but
we won't be back.
ITALY IN MELBOURNE!
‘WOW’
Been to ‘The olive jar’ as i was recommended by friends, OMG What an experience! The food, the atmosphere, the live singing by the waiter it was a night that you can only experience in Italy. We finished our meals with the best tiramisu and limoncello in melbourne. This place MUST have a score of 10/10 just amazing incredible! We will return often!
WHAT A GREAT START OF 2021
we were booked at the olive jar for new year' s eve. "Wow" we loved every moment of it amazing food, Great atmosphere and great live music.loved the home vino.the amazing limoncello and that tiramisu wow.we'll be back back back. 10/10 love & happy new year olive jar.
"TRULY AUTHENTIC"
I don't write many or any review but may I say as an Italian with lots of home cooking authentic experience this is the best food I ever had anywhere in MELBOURNE.
Truly Fantastic!
GRAZIE A PRESTO 10/10
Really really bad. Very disappointed. Supermarket pizza-crust with tasty cheese instead of mozzarella. There's something very suss about this place and its glowing reviews. Don't go. The service stations in Italy serve better food than this.
Genuine, cozy, real. The food is hearty and delicious and the host is simply the most.
Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a casual, fun and atmospheric place to feast.
This is a quaint little place, with a great warm atmosphere. You definitely get the feel that the people who work here really care about the service and making your experience special.
The food is good enough that I couldn't wait until I was halfway through to snap a pic, and it's all reasonably priced. Whilst the menu does have all the standard things you'd expect, the specials board is where it's at. (The boar ragu is pictured)
If you are drinking definitely give the homemade limoncello a go, it's a standout and a unique point to the restaurant.
The only word of caution I'd have to give is be careful of the tiramisu, my friend said it was fantastic. But it is a more traditional one, so it's strong. If you're thinking of driving the mousse may be a safer bet and it's just as delicious.
