I went there to pick up 2 takeaway dishes. One was Hainanese Chicken Rice and the other was Char Kway Teow. Both dishes were a disappointment. They were not authentic. I asked for the Char Kway Teow to be vegetarian, so I didn't want the prawns and squid that it came with. They were so mean with the amount of veges that they put in. You would have thought that seeing as there was no prawns and squid ordered they would have put more veges in. Also they mixed the noodles, they put the correct flat noodles in but also they put thin egg noodles in. This is so not the real deal. The couple cooking seemed to be from Malaysia /Singapore and I would have thought that they would have known better. Now for the chicken rice.again not authentic. The chicken was boiled but not in the proper chicken stock, the rice wasn't cooked in chicken oil or chicken stock. The chilli sauce that goes with it was ginger based. It usually is served with a garlic chilli sauce. The soup that comes with it was nice. So all in all it was a totally big disappointment. I certainly won't be going back there again. Also they should correct their signage on the outside of their business. There is a big sign saying CHAR TEOW KWAY instead of CHAR KWAY TEOW!

Kam heong pork ribs were awesome. On the dearer side, but the dishes we had justified the price. Generous serves too.

AMAZING! It was impossible to find authentic KL Hokkien Mee until I found out about this place! The taste is so on point and correct! I haven't had this in years, this really brings me home.

The Racecourse Char Kuey Teow was also super delicious! There are other places that serve a good CKT but this tastes the absolute best to me.

The Fried Carrot Cake was great, although I'm used to the version where the cake is more chopped up. The SG Hokkien Mee was good, but I'm not a fan of the SG variant since I grew up with KL Hokkien Mee ️

At first glance it seems a bit pricey, but the portions turned out to be huge!

Pretty good selections in their menu, but many quite missed the mark. Services are often quite slow, not very friendly as well

Somewhat pricey. But great quality. Easily one of the best Asian restaurants in Melbourne! Just wish I could afford to go more often

Lives up to the hype. A bit pricey but the portions, servings and quality make up for it. Very authentic as well. We had the Hokkien Mee, Char kway teow and radish Carrot cake - ingredients and food wise as close as what you'd get to at a hawker centre in singapore

The char kuay teow is the best, the place feels like home. They’ve also been kind enough to make a veg version for us. Can’t wait to return once lockdown is over.

It’s been in Collingwood for over 20years. Quite a selection of enjoyable dishes. Should try, pricing slightly on the dearer side but not unreasonable. Service was good.

Great authentic Singapore style local dishes, had black Chai Tow Kway, with delicious and smooth carrot cake and lots of sweet black sauce. Also had Singapore style Hokkien mee, the prawn stock was flavorsome and delicious with generous portions of large freshly cooked prawns. The place to go to for great local Singapore dishes when you miss Singapore local food. Had bandung and ice lemon tea too, which was both delicious and refreshing with just the right balance for both. Worth a visit. Char Kway teow is great Singapore style with rich black sauce and spicy with lots of ingredients. East Coast road Laksa was fabulous with flavorsome sauce and coconut spicy authentic laksa gravy, definitely very authentic Singapore Laksa, highly recommend. Indian murtabak is also very good and authentic with delicious curry gravy and beautifully cooked beef inside.

Some of the best Singaporean food I have had outside Singapore, hands down. The laksa had true flavours but with more meat, murtabak was damn tasty. Thanks for bringing a slice of Singaporean heritage to Melbourne.

Taste of the food brought me back memories from the time I used to have them in Singapore. Alan and Carol made me feel at home and welcomed. Will definitely return and spread the word around about this hidden gem in Melbourne.

Worst experience, I found a dead insect in my food and when I noticed it, they still made me pay for my food.

Fabulous establishment, love the old 50's photos of Singapore. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and the food was amazing. The prices were a little high but they offer generous servings and they don't skimp on prawns. I would definitely recommend!

A hidden gem - their Racecourse Char Kway Teow is a contender for best CKT in Melbourne - absolutely delicious. Curry sauce with the roti also amazing. Will definitely be ordering more from this place.

This place is soo old school I felt like I was going back in time lol. The service was excellent, friendly and helpful.

Starting w a Ayer Bandung which is a popular Indonesian drink w rose syrup, w evaporated milk. This was like a glass of strawberry milk. This wasn’t the best lol

For starters the Old Raffles Lobak was crispy fried bean curd skin rolls w minced pork, fresh chives, coriander,
yam beans and spring onion. They were amazing and full of flavour with out being greasy. Soo good.

The Bugis Street Chicken Mah Mee w Hokkiwn noodles, chicken, seasonal greens in a delicious sauce hahaha and it was really good lol.

The rendezvous beef rendang was amaaazing. By far the best one I’ve ever eaten. They use a heirloom recipe and the meat was so soft, flavoursome and the curry, well it had some spice, it was creamy and it yummy!

The roti bread was crispy and like flat bread only tastier.

The hainanese chicken was good, but it lacked the chicken broth so it was missing some flavour. But in saying that I tried the chicken the next day and it was delicious and still really moist. Just perfect.

This place is excellent. If you haven’t been there go there lol.
