The Old Dog Cafe

Popped into this place a few times for a last minute coffee on my way to work - it's conveniently right next to my tram stop. To my delight the coffee is EXCELLENT and the staff are very friendly & sweet! I normally just make coffee at home and save the takeaways for when I'm out of milk or time, but today I found myself skipping the home brew on purpose so I could get one from these guys! You can expect to see more of me!

Fab little gem in thornbury. Big portions, both coffee and food. Cuban was full of delicious, juicy pulled pork and other excellent ingredients. Definitely comfort food

If you’re after a crunchy, easy going vibe you’re absolutely going to love this family run cafe. Relaxed and cozy, if you’re on a budget nothing beats this coffee + egg & bacon roll for $10 only total.
Grab a seat at the back and relax, read a book, work from your laptop, the classical music in the background makes this the perfect spot for it.

I’m actually a bit disappointed with the food. THE coffee and omelette were super on point and extremely tasty… However, the Cod liver on toast on was an utter disappointment for what it was worth. Not only, it had missing ingredients from the menu Eg. …Gilled Mushrooms, Bocconcini.the salad leaves were dry. I felt like we were served Cod liver directly out of a tin can from ALDI….

My partner and I come here regularly. All the food is delicious, including the breakfasts, and we love their coffee and chai. The staff are friendly, efficient, and accommodating.

Small little cafe run by two extremely polite well mannered staff members.
Food portion was extremely generous, unlike most other places where they charge you a bomb for a small plate of meal. There in front and rear seating, closer to nature type of setting. Pricing is also very reasonable.
All in all, it was a good eating experience and we will definitely go back.
Would recommend!
